Guys tell me what you think of this plan I just cooked up.

I tried to sell an A2 stock kit and A2 hand guards today. I failed, and realized getting rid of these things might be nearly impossible. I liked my A4gery build, but it was too long, and I no longer own any cases it would fit in. Long story short I sold the barrel and receiver of that rifle, so I'm just left with these parts. I also have a bcg laying around now.

What if, and hear me out on this, WHAT IF, I took my 18" SPR barrel out of the SPR, and installed all the A2 shit on it, to basically create an 18" A4gery? Would it cycle a standard rifle buffer?

I would then buy a 20" 6.5 grendel barrel for the SPR.

If the markings on the F1 are not 100% correct you are liable to be fucked. I would get the receiver in your hands ASAP and file for it then.

I have a full lower, the handguards, the FSB, delta ring assembly, detachable carry handle and bcg. Barrel and gas tube would come from my SPR (which is out of action anyway since I had to send it back to PA and they're out of action because of weather.)

I'd have to come up with another upper receiver and charging handle, obviously. And I'd have to gut my current 16" HD build for some of the parts.

Also a general newfag question for anyone who cares to answer. Do hand built ARs have break-in periods? My charging handle and bolt take some muscle to move while my room mate's well used AR is like butter. Mine's been lubed and I'm not an a DYEL.

Tighten it down properly, then stake it.

You can get an automatic center punch for $15 at home depot. Depending on the endplate, 5-10 hits to dig in, then start moving material into the castle nut groove. Took me all of 5 minutes from start to finish the first time I did it.

Foot pounds are irrelevant, you can't over tighten the castle nut with a normal size wrench. You don't need to stake it.

Not really, tolerances just vary between parts, so sometimes you get combos that are just inherently friction-y. My polymer lower (damn that thing, and fuck me for buying it) generates a lot of friction against the bcg making it harder to manually cycle.
