Like I said I'm pretty sure correct ammo selection completely resolves any concerns for achieving terminal velocity. if you're really autistic/poor you might be turned off by the idea of having to stockpile $2.00/round gucci ammo for your go to gun but that's not me.

if you wanted to refinish it with something less glossy and flaky, would you lose that nice red colour as well?

Retarded. It was even stupider not to get your RPAL because there was next to no difference between owning a rifle and owning a handgun or AR. I'm glad that we've at least gotten as far as eliminating the long gun registry, because it makes buying rifles feel American. But we still have a long way to go.

So is that 55gr barnaul 223 about the cheapest stuff I can find? I'm contemplating getting an M&P Sport 2 but I'm a poorfag and the cost of .223 hurts my wallet to think about.
>>
>>34032787
You would likely need to go through an import/export service but so long as its nothing on the prohibited list you can after getting your firearms licence.
The only extra stipulation for new citizens to get a licence is a letter of conduct from your prior city of residence.

>>34032823
Barnaul is the cheapest yes, unless you randomly find chinese surplus but its all gone forever from online stores.

>>
>>34033019
Also you can get a temporary permit for 60 days(which can be extended) so you can have and use your rifle before getting a licence. Don't know too much more than that about non-resident stuff.

I don't know/can't find what Barnaul is in CPR but SGAmmo has no-name hard-primer lacquered-steel for 19.5 cpr from time to time. >>
>>34036904
from most people posting about it, seems like it's an inaccurate SKS that both costs and weighs 3x what an actual SKS does.

North Sylva probably got their dicks hard thinking about all the cuckbucks they'd be making, selling a rifle that takes AK mags, thinking this will somehow get the maple AK-deficiency syndrome sufferers to spread it for this "new rifle", plus it's an approved design that required minimal retooling on the Norc part, so would be fast to produce and fast to get FRT for.

except everyone just looked at it and went, wtf? M1A in a weaker caliber that takes AK mags, WUUUT? turns out having an AK mag was not the crazy selling point they banked on

Actually, my car gets 800 km on a 50L tank.

800/50 = 16km per L

And then I move the decimal
160 hectometers per L
1600 decameters per L
16000 meters per litre.

Oh hey, you wanted it the other way?

16km per 10 decilitres.
16km per 100 centilitres.
16km per 1000 millitres.

But yeah, that's hard.

If you're just filling your tires, it really doesn't matter which one you use.
Imperial is convenient for engineering purposes. If you're just reading the temperature or weighing food, it really doesn't matter which one you use. Saying that Imperial is bad because you don't use it in the situations where it's more convenient is silly. That'd be like saying Kelvin has no use because It never gets that cold outside.

Its a pencil barrel, and it isn't bad. Its fine.
>>
>>34044069
Yeah ellwood is kinda shit like that. Good stock but pretty shitty to get correct info from.
>>
>>34044081
Well they said that they were A2 handguards in the description for the upper I bought. Which I was fine with, I could try and get triangular handguards later. I am a bit disappointed that they don't mention twist rates though. Or even if something has a heavy barrel.

I bought one of their Olypic Arms 20" Ar-15s and found that it was a heavy barrel. Which isn't bad, but it wasn't made clear in the description.
>>
>>34044103
The best part is if you called to ask they would just tell you to check the website anyway.

>>
>>34047137
They're abso-fucking-lutely ruthless with their tactics.

When I signed up, I only gave them my mobile number. I wouldn't mind nearly as much if they called me through that number, but they've actually managed to figure out my home number (probably through my address).

First call I got was from Mad Max's office, asking if I've voted yet. I assume this is their way of asking me if I've voted for Bernier, not necessarily if I've voted at all.

Then a week later, I got a call from Trost's office.

If I get another fucking phone call, I am gonna go apeshit.

Only two calls. For now.

For all we know, I could be getting more calls from other candidates later on. I don't need each and every one of them fucking reminding me that I need to vote, because I joined them for that very privilege.

Fuck, it might not even stop there. After the voting is done, they could sure as shit spam me with other things, such as begging for more donations, etc.

Also, they didn't use the phone number that I gave them. They decided to take the initiative to find my home phone number, and now they're inconveniencing my entire family, not just me. Crazy Tok Guy. He's a guy who was crazy enough to conceal-carry a Tokarev TT-33 in public.

He first gained notoriety when he panicked on /k/ about how his Tok accidentally slipped out of his jacket at a Tim Horton's, and was freaking about getting caught.

To this day, he hasn't been caught, and his activities have gotten increasingly illegal. His gradual nonchalant attitude towards such activity has convinced many anons that he's actually a cop who is trying to honeypot other people into doing illegal shit with their firearms.

(PolySeSouvient translates to PolyRemembers, but it's the name of an org. so I left it untranslated)

what's the point of owning a gun in Canada.

it's a popularity contest, you have to be in good standing at your gun club IE kiss ass, and have to kiss ass to make sure your 5 or w/e references are in good standing

ie if your ex bitches no more ar for you

can't take your guns home, pay hundreds a month for gun club fees just to own guns

no home defense

>THE RCMP EXPRESSES ITSELF
>On their end, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police throws the ball back to the federal government by telling them that they are evaluating the firearm models on the market "with regard to the definitions established in the criminal code"... which falls under the purview of the minister of justice

>>
Hi guys, I'm planning to buy my first restricted and just want a bit of clarification since our laws are retarded. The RCMP website says you need an ATT and a registration certificate for a restricted.

I know ATTs are attached to the RPAL so that requirement no longer matters, but how does the process for getting the certificate work? Do you walk into the store, the cashier rings up the CFO and you can walk out with the gun on the same day, or do you have to wait for the certificate and come back weeks later to pick up the gun?

Thanks lads.
>>
>>34067750
>buy gun
>wait for transfer/SATT
>Pick up gun from store
>bring it home
>wait for registration
>bring to range

You need to make sure you have an ATT through your gun club.
>>
>>34067750
when you buy a restricted, the store/owner has to initiate the transfer with the cfo/rcmp. that can take between a few days to a few weeks depending on your province. when that is complete, the restricted is yours. they'll ship it/let you take it home. ownership certificate/registration comes in the mail a week or two after.

since this is your first restricted, some time after the transfer is complete you get your new rpal in the mail updated for 'special conditions' aka built in ATT.
>>
>>34067851
I read on r/canadaguns that you don't need to be part of a gun club in Ontario because someone sued the CFO.
>>
>34067972
Only if you want to bring it to your house and not do anything with it.
>>
>>34068028
What if you sign up to some bumfuck nowhere $50/y range in nunavut so you're technically part of a club just to get the LTATT.
>>
>>34068166
You've overcomplicating a simple problem.

Yes, it's technically true that in the province of Ontario, you don't need a gun club membership to own restricted firearms.

However, if you plan using restricted firearms in any legally acceptable fashion (range or special occupations), you're gonna need a membership anyway. If you're gonna take 'em to a range, you might as well be a club member of that range. If you're gonna be an armored car driver/conservation officer/police officer, you're gonna need to practice at the range anyway.

Why bother signing up to be a member at some Nunavut range when
A) You don't even need to be a member if you just wanna own restricted firearms without using them
B) You're gonna need a local membership anyway if you want to (legally) use your restricted firearms
>>
>>34068166
It's only a LTATT too and from the range. With a few exceptions like registered gunsmiths and such.
>>
>>34068226
I want to shoot restricteds on a day pass because the breakeven point on a membership is about ~20 range trips, which means you have to shoot biweekly to make it worth it and that's not feasible for a lot of people.
>>
>>34068284
In that case, look into "ATT memberships." Some shooting ranges sell this type of membership just for ATT acquisition purposes.

Do note that what you actually need is a *club* membership, not necessarily a *range* membership. All ranges just happen to be clubs, but not all clubs have to be ranges.

I remember some Albertafag posting that he was able to get his ATT with Silvercore (a $30/year CLUB membership based in BC).
>>
>>34068284
You're going to have a real rough time trying to jump through these hoops. While technically possible that you can get a day pass and call the RCMP in advance and get your one time ATT to that range. You'll need to email the club in advance because you need an invitation for the RCMP to even OK this request.

The issue with this is that in southern Ontario these clubs banded together to not allow people to bring handguns as a guest unless you do your Club level safety course.

>>34068376
And don't listen to this guy. That will only get you the privledges you already have as a resident of Ontario.
>>
>>34068392
>call the RCMP in advance and get your one time ATT to that range
what year have you arrived from? This isn't a fucking thing anymore.
>>
>>34068635
I may be wrong, but i'm fairly sure that is still the process if you want to bring a restricted to a gun range when you're not a member.
>>
>>34068692
>I may be wrong
you are wrong as of Bill C-42 from 2015.

transporting a restricted firearm to a range is part of the 'special conditions' permitted by the integrated ATT of a restricted license.
>>
>>34068745
You still need the invitation, correct?
>>
>>34068745
If he didn't have an ATT when C42 came in then he needs to apply for one to be attached to his PAL.
>>
>>34068767
depends on the range. it doesn't hurt to email ahead of time. I know Silverdale is cool with restricted rifles.
>>34068774
if you get your first restricted after C42 it's done automatically, they'll mail you a new license with ATT attached no input from you required.
>>
>>34068376
>>34068392
Thanks guys.

I don't own either, I just know not everyone wants to ball out and spend $1200 on a USP 45 like I did for my first handgun. I'm not ashamed to recommend something I know to be good.
>>
>>34077191
the only legitimate complaint is that the trigger is bad and besides being heavy i havent heard anything bad yet.
>>
So I just found an M1 Garand for sale in Canada that's been modified to shoot .308/7.62x51 instead of the usual .30-06.

How can I make sure that it's not leftover Marstar crap that was foisted off to some poor unsuspecting store?

Ask for pics of the bolt, particularly the locking lugs.

1,079.99. a bit more than what I paid. my 1200 number is after tax. you got it for a steal though.

I would, if it wasn't for the bullet-pushed-into-casing failures some of them have
I don't care about the mushy trigger or not matchgrade accuracy on an NR bullpup plinker, I don't care that it doesn't have AR ergos or that some pmags don't fit
BUT, pulling a trigger and the rifle not going bang, or cocking the charging handle and the bolt not going into battery/round not chambering because of some lelnofeedramps bullshit, that's sacrilege -- reliability is non-negotiable, even in a shitty chink plinker that will never shoot anything other than a pop can

Can someone give me a bit of a breakdown on the idea behind irunguns? On their website they say that i have to make sure the weapon is legal in canada and "firm up the purchase". Whats the point of bringing something in from the u.s. if its already legal (and therefore probably already available) in canada?
>>
>>34078510
Eh, Brad Wall is burning a lot of bridges. I think he might know he stands a fair chance of losing the next election, so he's doing whatever the fuck he wants, making friends with private industry so he can step down and have a job once he loses.

Too bad Wootherspoon loves his family and won't go for the NDP leadership, I cannot even name another NDP person of note.

Read the leader post. Autistic screeching from unions over three jobs and a well deserved pay cut fucked the Sask party over.

Legal != Available

"Legal in Canada" means that the firearm should comply with typical Non-Restricted or Restricted-class criteria as outlined in the Firearms Act.

If you're importing something, chances are you have a damn good reason for doing so. Here are some common reasons:
>never marketed in Canada
>special editions
>comes in an uncommon colour
>antiques
>unique custom firearm
>technically cheaper to import than to purchase locally
>>
>>34078837
>>technically cheaper to import than to purchase locally

This. I just got a Springfield Armory 1911 from them for 950 with tax, fees, etc. Only thing I could have gotten for a comparable cost anywhere near where I live would have been a Remington.

>I would, if it wasn't for the bullet-pushed-into-casing failures some of them have
Easy fix, most of the time its mags that don't fit well, very few rifles need actual adjustments to the feed ramps.

>>34078860
A few years ago when our dollar peaked it was insanely cheap compared to in country. I hope it happens again at some point now that I have more money.
>>
>>34078801
I don't mean to be an ass here anon, but unions and the leader post don't mean a hell of a lot when it comes to prov elections. Not when, for some reason, every farmer worships Braddy .

Ok, so basically i want to buy gun x, but gun x has never been sold in canada. Does irunguns have to send it to the rcmp lab to make sure im not buying a full auto baby killer?
