Sure, but there are other profiles that actually do useful shit in the right circumstances. SOCOM, HB, and pencil all do their own thing. If you want just a general catch-all, mid-weight/medium profile also exists, but it's not standardized and not many people bother making it anymore.

It's thick in literally the most useless place possible. It can't function as an effective heatsink, it can't make the barrel more rigid, all it does it throw on deadweight and slightly impact 0-300 accuracy negatively. It was a result of Muhreen retardation and not knowing how to clean a barrel before shoving straightness gauges down them.

So you have a barrel profile that really does nothing but make your gun more front-heavy for zero gain.

Wasn't that an issue with the 1. and 2. gen rails? This is the 3rd gen, it has the locking plate, even when I loosen the bolts it cannot be moved along the barrel axis, it hooks onto the rear of the barrel nut.

On the 300blk upper I'm building later I'll use an ALG rail.
