in US, the 5.56 version is cheaper than a Tavor, although I don't know about the .308 version. maple price will be up soon from the importer.

too bad our dollar is in the shitter just as it happens, so probably typical bumped intro price with subsequent discount scenario

As much as Max needs to boot this weak beta progressive panderer out of office, the fact here is that all of these changes were introduced and put on the rails by the Conservatives -- Liberals just didn't impede the progress of that train and now it has finally arrived at its final destination. This isn't a Liberal ploy any more than sales of arms to Saudis was a Liberal deal. They're just overseeing the realization of what Cons put in motion.

Yeah, the wood is kinda in roughish condition and the metal is worn a bit, not rusted, just worn from use.

Will consider putting work into it. On one hand, I want a clean, new looking rifle but on the other hand I like it's battered look of it's history - I started getting these for that reason anyways.

The metal is what it is don't tamper with it. But lacquer is not original to the gun. I'd strip it, give it a light sand "not trying go get out the deeper dings", and just put boiled linseed oil on it.
What is the nationality and date of your rifle?

It's British, circa 1943. Least I'm pretty sure after a Google search and referencing the serial numbers on it. Dunno which plant it was made at, I'll take a picture of it later though.

I'll consider what you said about the wood. My father is pretty experienced at woodwork wheras I'm not, so maybe it'd be a fun father-son thing to do.

Thanks for the insight, really appreciate stuff like this.

I get harassed by cops constantly because I have been earmarked as having PTSD.
I cant get a job because Im a liability or get fired to make room for an immigrant. (This has happened, what 3 times now?)

you would think in the endless torrent of pissing away this country's financial present and future, the corrupt Marxist progressives would at least manage to cover the legitimate concerns like this, together with the myriad of wasteful spending, vote buying and dead-end feel-good ideological projects that seem to have no bottom as far as need for tax money is concerned.
hope you get better, Anon. life is not fair but I'm wishing you well and hopefully the country will elect someone more responsible and concerned with the people's well being and future, than with feelings of screeching extreme ideological minorities and appearances for the media.

in the meantime, I suggest you appeal and if that process is not there, write your story to every media outlet and editor in every paper.

Where can I get cheap steel targets that aren't rimfire? Something that can handle .223 and 9mm.
>>
>>33936449.
Never shot on crown, but I know the two cardinak rules. Make sure you are shooting into a backstop and be as safe as possible, because when the RCMP get called about a noise complaint, if you can show you are doing your best to be safe they won t speeg out on you. And be respectful if they tell you to pack up and go, don t escalate it.
"but this is crown land!"
Doesn t matter. If the cops found you, it is because somebody called them, which means you are a disturbance.
Shooting on farmland is just like hunting.
On farmland, ASK PERMISSION AND TALK TO THE FARMER. Be polite. "Hey, I just want to shoot rifles at 100-300m. I ll set up my own targets and clean up, and maybe kick you a few buckk or let you shoot my guns."

I do almost all my shooting on crown just east of the southern part of Algonquin Park. Nice gravel pit up there near my friends place that is the perfect spot to shoot.

Most areas of crown allow for recreational target shooting, although I would check the MNRs crown land map because sometimes certain plots have restricted uses on them, although that is very rare in the grand scheme of things.

The cops are the least of your worries in my opinion. Only ever ran in to the OPP once because someone called them the day before and we happened to be out shooting again the next day. They just checked to make sure everything was safe and let us go on our way. Some Torontofag cottager called on us but the cops are local and reasonable guys for the most part.

MNR FIsh and Wildlife Officers can be a pain though. They can try and go after you for poaching regulations which are guilty until proven innocent "charges". If you are target shooting on crown try and bring actual formal targets to show the MNR officer. The more you do to eliminate any doubt you could be hunting illegally and are indeed just target shooting, the better. MNR guys are rare to run in to, and I have only had good experiences, but the rules they abide by are far more likely to fuck you over than the cops.

Also, shooting on crown in areas or at times when lots of city fags are up for their cottage weekends is generally an open invitation for trouble. Less so from the cops and more so from soccer moms who think guns are illegal. I had one pull over and lecture my friends and I when she saw I had my Type 98 "military assault rifle" lel.

Hey hope you're still reading this thread, how do I get into some like Ground Search and Rescue? I absolutely need to volunteer if I ever want to become a police officer, but I want to spend my time doing something exciting and fulfilling. Also, any other suggestions for cool volunteer positions are welcome!

>I absolutely need to volunteer if I ever want to become a police officer

If you're not enough of a fat female visible minority I can see why you might need to go above and beyond.
>>
>>33939429
Looked it up, basically they have a large association that has a bunch of smaller groups that are where you go and actually "work", from the maps I saw they have one in most relevant towns and cities. Contact one of those orgs and complete training (something like a 60-day training for the ones in Calgary) and then you're a part of them, requiring 40-hours/year here.
As for other things, I don't really know since I have fun playing games with seniors and so. Some of my friends do things with kids (but they're chicks anyway) and others don't do much beyond lifting and sports.
Personally the reserves look really cool assuming you can burn a summer + weekends and Wednesday evenings, but to each their own.

Stay away from the Red Cross. On the face of it, Disaster Relief seems like a great service to volunteer, but in my experience it's a completely shitshow full of corrupt executives and virtue signalling cunts padding their resumes.

That said, I can completely recommend volunteering as a Medical First Responder with St John's Ambulance. Great organization and you'll get some great medical training, with more advanced stuff the more time you put in.

>Fudds cream their Depends at the idea of paying thousands of dollars for that
>People begin throwing cash at John and circle-jerking
>The first T2s arrive, and, well this isn't a T2...
>Commercial laser-engraved barrels, Danish receivers, dangerously low amount of locking lug contact (~15% on one side, none on the other), barrels hand-tight and literally drooping, possibly forged markings, the works.
>Literally grenades in waiting.
>Fudd salt begins to rise, John stays silent for dozens of pages, only popping in once to bicker about semantics from an ancient argument
>Fudds are now Reeeing as hard as they can, demanding refunds, which they get, but they have to pay to ship the guns back themselves
>Fudd screeching reaches critical mass, mods are forced to step in, lock the thread and kick Marstar off CGN

I'm curious, S&W has a lifetime warranty that's touted as one of the best in business, but how does it apply to a modular firearm like an AR? changing out the furniture would probably not be an issue, but would you void your warranty if you say put in a custom trigger or decides to knock off the A2 gas block, cut off the spring and retention ring and put in a rail, free-floating the barrel. replacing the changing handle with some high-speed operator one would probably not matter, but what about replacing the bolt carrier assembly with some plated upgraded one? At which point they say, fuck it, you changed up too much and this is no longer the firearm we guaranteed to cover?

>>
>>33941603

>>
>>33941601
why does the warranty matter when you're replacing 90% of the wear parts anyways?

plus it seems like it would be pretty easy to revert to default config in the unlikely event that something went to shit.
>>
>>33941610
I'm sure that won't set off any red flags
>>
>>33941628
It wont cause ill be using an importer, i just need to import like 10000rds for it to be viable. Ill most likely do 7.62 for that reason
>>
>>33941619
well, that's why I'm curious. let's say you're changing out not 90%, at which point do they stop covering you? let's say you just change out the trigger, is that enough to void the warranty? it's a commonly done upgrade, should it really void warranty for say some damage caused by poorly reemed chamber? (not that S&W has qc issues, but just to hypothetical purposes). and if changing out the trigger is ok, then what about something else on top of that.

I'm mostly just curious about how their lawyers and techs approached the complete coverage their regular warranty is known for when applied to something like an AR, which is so very different from say their revolvers, where at most you'll change the sights and grips, so all of the function-related parts can obviously be covered as they all remain S&W
>>
>>33938507
What I don't get is why they would approach you and try to stir up shit if they are afraid of guns and gun owners. If you're scared of dogs, you wouldn't go to a dog park.

is that one of those new mags where the latch is on the mag? how well does it feed?

I've only put 5 rounds through it. Couldn't tell you. Fed better than the internal one that came with it, which ftf stovepiped the last round. Looks cool and feels nice in the hand for all that matters.

Why are my cartridges so dusty.

your guys having a good weekend? Last night I went bear hunting, and didn't see anything but deer, rabbits and chickens, but saw a tree all blown apart from lightning today I also went to the local gun show and picked up 2 new guns. Got a Cooey in 12 gauge w/full choke barrel and an 1891 Argentine Mauser. Also got a couple of Lee Enfield clips that I overpaid for, but they where there and I had the money so I went for the instant gratification buy

May I please get suggestions for silly gimmick guns? I'm specifically asking the Canada General so I don't have to sift through guns that are either prohib or just unavailable in Canada.

Anything goes, really. I just want to add something stupid to my family.

>pistols that shoot centerfire rifle ammo
>shotguns that shoot rifle/pistol ammo
>rifles/pistols that shoot shotgun ammo
>pistols with manual actions that are more common on longarms (bolt/lever/break/pump-action, etc.)
>stupid/silly designs
>stupid/irrelevant features (like a bottle opener or a measuring stick)

Right now, Cabela's Canada has hardwood stock SKSes on sale for $239.99.

I'm sorry to say, but that's probably the best it's gonna get. SKS rifles typically sell in the $249.99-299.99 range. And that's just the usual non-special SKS rifles.

The days of sub-$200 SKSes are over.

I've been here since the glory days and got pretty political over the past few years. I have strong views, but I think as long as people are pro-fun on these /k/anada threads its okay. Guns is a very political hobby in some ways, but for the most part I just want to enjoy it and not worry about too much political stuff. As long as you believe in preserving the tradition of freedom I'm happy.
