Westrifle has some bad news about the UN markings and their costs posted on CGN.

Westrifle has always used fear mongering to sell more SKS rifles. They posted about fake shortages during the start of the Ukraine war to drum up more sales.

Not that they're completely wrong but I'd rather hear a breakdown from a more legitimate dealer.
>>
>>33902801

>tfw you didn't stock up on $199 SKS's to sell later for profit
>>
>>33902819
This. They've been on about about mass sks shortages for a while now. Just bullshit to sell off rifles
>>
>>33902819
The numbers may be a bit high, but if you look at overall costs (esp. the costs of cleaning and readying a firearm for marking), I could easily see $100 being added per arm.

Calgary Shooting Centre says they can't estimate right now, because too much depends on the firearm itself- some will cost more than others.

Irunguns says:
> A Fiber Laser machine capable of doing the volume and large enough to encompass a rifle is close to 80000.00 USD and then there is also the cost of the software and having someone run it.
>>
>>33902976
No one said you needed a state of the art laser system to do any of this. Inb4 time, doesn't take long to hand stamp anything.

Great rifle, really lightweight, and the thicc barrel really makes for an accurate shooter so long as you aren't looking for aftermarket bits. I like it so much that It made me want to get a Model 60 for those lazy days at the hunting camp.

>>33902567
regular stock handguards in a fixed front sight model usually have a bit of play, because all they are designed for is holding the rifle, no real need for precision tolerances there. chances are you will replace them soon enough with something nicer looking that you can stick a light, a laser and an afg on
>remember, you can't be a high-speed operator until you have a magpul afg or a short vertical grip that you barely even touch as you do thumb-over-bore

the stock is something most people don't care about, but personally I can not stand. it's totally a pet peeve issue rather than anything real affecting rifle performance, but if your focus as the operator is affected by it, then end result will be sub par as well -- besides, the whole point is enjoying the sport. in terms of fixing it, the fastest way is to replace it with a new tacticool stock that has a friction lock, like CTR from magpul. the ultra-cheap option is to tape it (check youtoob for tutorials). the third is to just get lucky, I've seen $35 ATI buttstocks sitting tighter on milspec tubes than a [redacted] on a [redacted]
>>
>>33902756
Fuck sakes. Is one unique serial number not good enough for those faggots who are forcing us to implement this?
>>
>>33902819
while you are absolutely correct about Westrifle's never ending "last batch of SKS ever", a month or so ago a few other places like Tenda and Bullseye mentioned supply beginning to dwindle and prices likely going up, in a much more low key way.

You're like a little baby, watch this:
>he doesn't remember the Marstar sale of $75 unissued Chinese military SKS with purchase of regularly priced crate of Czech surplus ammo

I honestly haven't seen any formerly "regular" SKS being sold in the past half year or so. the new norm seems to be a bottom of the barrel, shit refurb jobs with cracked stocks and peeling BBQ paint, minor rust sports, etc. other than more pricy Chinese models and the "super-grade" all matching versions some dealers have been hoarding until recently, you can probably one find a decent blued SKS for the base price of $230-250 only at some random backwoods Canadian Tire.
>already read a number of negative reviews of people pissed off at receiving the BBQ beaters instead of what they assumed would be the standard nice blued refurb that the dealers still have as stock picture on their sites

>It's pretty much just for muslim women
No it is not. Certain religious groups in Canada, primarily hutterites and the amish, have not had to have photo's on their id for years. This is literally nothing new.
>>
>>33908792
Sure but they use primarily flintlock muskets and rifles, not anything that requires a PAL.

>>33908810
Which is not the point. They are free to get a PAL and someone determined that it is reasonably accomodation not to force them to provide a photo. This policy was not formulated for muslims.

>>

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous given how long it takes to get there. I go down to Victoria often enough to hang out with friends and want to take them shooting at some point, but not if it'll cost us $200-300 for only a couple hours. If I was more familiar with the area and had a suitable vehicle I'd just drive them out to some crown land or something.

For sure. I'm up near Comox, there's at least three decent spots that I know of within a 20 minute drive, plus the actual ranges at Courtenay Fish & Game. I usually have the range to myself though so I don't often go on crown land anymore.

How'd all my BC anons feel about the election results?

I thought I lived in one riding but I'm a block outside of the cutoff. I was planning to vote lolbertarian but when I got there it was just the Big Three on the ballot. I voted for the Libs because I hate them slightly less than the commie turboprogressives in the NDP or the hippies in the greens. I accidentally voted for a tranny.

Some are saying the Comox absentee ballot, which is on a razors edge, will push the Libs to a majority.
>>
Thoughts on webleys?

A website I'm looking at is listing them as prohibited, I thought they were just restricted but is that not the case?
>>
>>33916911

Ya thats what i figure too.

It sure would be nice to have something like that for hunting though. Maybe one day they will get some competition in the market and their prices will go down.
>>
>>33918667
AB anon here, from our point of view any of your partys will fuck us hard on pipelines so it doesnt really matter.

The NDP won Courtney-Comox absentee ballot by 60 votes in 2013, so who knows
>>
>>33919269

I think the feds will override any potential fuckery on the pipelines.

This time around the Lib candidate is a Navy guy, and there will be a lot of military ballots coming in, so I think there's a good chance they'll take the seat.
>>
>>33918943
Based on barrel length, if it is too short it is prohib.
>>
>>33919393
But shouldn't a webleys meet that requirement? It's exceeds the 105mm requirement
>>
>>33919355
I doubt turdeau will do much to move things along if BC puts up a fight. And a minority government supported by the Greens won't have a ton of impetus to approve pipelines.

Have to wait two weeks for the absentee's to be counted a processed. But hell even a normal recount could shift nine votes to the Libs and give him the seat. A 9 vote margin is nothing
>>
>>33919435

As much as I hate the crooked gangsters in the liberal party, I would rather eat glass than live under an NDP majority. I want them to have as little power as possible. I'm hoping the recount will give the seat to the liberals.

I will admit to being relatively uniformed about BC politics, but what is the difference between Liberal and NDP? I know the provincial Liberals aren't really related to the federal libs
>>
There was talk of a Sask meet like 2 months ago. Did anything ever become of that?
>>
>>33919614

The Liberals are basically crony capitalists selling out the province to the chinese. They're sort of center-right. They've been in power for a long time and are mired in scandal, cash for access, abusing the teachers union, etc.

The NDP is far left. They have diversity quotas and pander to the progressives. They're on out outskirts of marxism and claim to be the party of the working man.

There's not really a great option here. We have no conservative, pro gun party, for example.
>>
How common is .38 s&w anyways?
>>
>>33919655
I see, from what I read about your election it is basically corporatists or far left. Shitty choices man, but I guess the province is too far gone to allow a real conservative party.
>>
>>33919655
>abusing the teachers union
As in abusing the fact that there is a teachers' union, or fucking the union over? There is literally nothing wrong with the latter.
>>
>>33919995
I don't think public sector employees should have the right to collective bargaining. Public sector unions are the most cancerous lobbyist groups in our society right now
>>
>>33919456
Whether it's allowed or not, we did do it. We were trying to find somewhere else nearby to shoot though because we suspected it wasn't allowed.
>>
>>33920021
Exactly. Unions in general have far too much legal power, but public unions are in a league of their own.
>>
>>33920040

>>
>>33920096
I was there for the first 2/3 shoots and both of those were in Larose. I don't think we ever found an alternative spot. Should be fine if you go deep enough in and are safely shooting into a hill, but there will still be a risk.
>>
>>33919707

Factory ammunition is almost completely unavailable. Reloading is an absolute must if you want to shoot it.

Very rarely you can find either PPU or Prvi ammo in just about any caliber. Pretty much the only time you'll find rare stuff, and it's usually only there because the store incorrectly ordered it. If you see something you want, you have to grab it when you find it.

Webley & Scott was a company that made quite a few types of revolvers. Just calling something a Webley doesn't tell us much. It's kinda like calling two revolvers colts when one is a police special and the other is a anaconda.

Besides what you are probably thinking of when you say a Webley revolver is most likely an Enfield revolver which is an upgraded clone of the Webley in common use by the British in WW2

While the degrees do vary from region to region, the NDP are avowed socialists and well know for their far left tendencies, and the Chinese have taken up a sizable portion of Vancouver and Toronto, relative to their numbers and holdings as little as a decade ago.

>>
>>33921517
They're social democrats, which marks them different from socialists and full-on marxists in several ways, most notably a dedication to the principles of democracy. They certainly do have far-left tendencies, and far from all of their ideas are great, but this constant slandering of anything left-leaning being total commies, and the 'jokes' about helicopter rides, weren't a thing until the last year and a half or so, when all the assholes decided that /k/ needed to be turned into a far-right echo chamber.

And while the Chinese have been coming here in relatively large numbers, there's better explanations than fucking sleeper agents, or some retarded slow-motion takeover of the country (since you can't realistically count on generations past the first to be loyal to China more than Canada). I think it's more likely that the increase in economic prosperity in China has given people the opportunity to get the fuck out of it, since shockingly most folks don't like living under an oppressive autocracy. And it's no small surprise that the cities they're most likely to move to are the same ones where they send a lot of their children to university.

This is exactly the type of illiberal thinking which the radical left espouses, just on different topics. Lumping everyone together as irredeemable becuase they hold X belief is exactly the wrong thing to do. It leads to a black and white categorization of the world, lack of dialogue, and eventually violence when there is patently no need for it.

all places I've looked at here require it as part of getting a membership. This is specific to Restricted. If you've already gone through it at one club, others will let you shoot Restricted at their ranges by giving you an "invitation" when you show them proof you did it at another club. you can take your NR and pay the daily rate and shoot at any club if you have PAL and they do daily pass deal, but you can't just bring your R-shit to a range you're not member of without the invite. I just assumed it was like that everywhere.

look, there are only two reasons for a public debate:

1. After how many of these retarded discussions we've had to endure, it's obvious neither of you have any interest of having an open mind to the other's argument (don't insult yourselves by trying to claim otherwise and pretending to be the "reasonable one")

sure, like Libertarians

You can either have more freedom or more government. You can only vote for one party. You might agree with NDP on how to treat the elderly, and disagree with CPC on foreign policy issues, but you only have one vote to aggregate all the pros and cons and decide which bunch matters to you most. Vote for NDP and Libs is a vote for more regulations and bigger government, which, however you slice it is not a vote for better firearms laws. So if after all is said and done, you vote left, then no matter how much you claim to care for firearm rights and personal liberties they usually go hand in hand with, you clearly chose that they matter far less than free (insert something that isn't actually "free here)"
>not the anon you are sperg-fencing with and don't care for a long debate, so I will do the smart thing and end it here. term "vote" used loosely, to underline the unavoidable constraints of reality

I have never claimed people should vote or support the Liberals or NDP. I personally have never voted for either. My point is that drawing ever more closely upon a circle of ideologically pure gun owners will fail to measurably improve gun rights in Canada. Expanding gun rights in Canada relies on engaging with those who are ambivalent to gun ownership and showing them that we are normal folks. Sperging out on anyone even arguing the other side of X political issue, calling them mentally ill and nogunz, does nothing but poison the well.

it's less of an insurance and more of a pointless way of throwing more money away
do you honestly thing that if ARs get banned and confiscated, they won't come for the what.. one? two? total companies in the entire country that deal in 80 lowers and get their customer lists?
hey, looks like 5 years ago you bought something that is no longer recognized as a "paperweight" and is now a "potential deadly weapon", don't mind if we give you this blanket court order and turn your place upside down to see if we can add to our glowing statistics and throw another easy collar to the crown, hoping you were dumb enough to complete it.

yeah.. bring a fucking ghost gun across the border, that's your solution? grey area firearm that even irunguns won't touch with their import business? great plan, good luck at the border. you'll probably have it confiscated at best by a less-than-informed about split hairs of firearms law border agent, arrested at worst and if you don't want to be and wish to declare it, probably no arrest, probable confiscation still and even if you managed to get it back, you will be on every list possible
>"Hello? Yes I'm calling about this AR-smuggler, sir. The very one, yeah he tried to bring in this AR receiver that falls into this weird not-a-gun loophole? yeah I know, no idea, but definitely nothing good. yes sir, had to let him go... uhum, regular firearms officer inspections and put him on the list? yeah got it!"

It's almost as if one would buy, complete, and then hide their 80% lower so that if ARs get banned, they can turn over their registered stripped lower and hide the parts along with the unregistered one.

It's an insurance policy. Anyone who wants an AR can just get one the legal way. Once it becomes illegal, there is no way to prove they have an unregistered AR without finding the physcial evidence.

What is the procedure for getting an antique letter?

I bought an antique boot pistol, percussion, from Elwood Epps, but it did not come with a letter or anything.

I am jsut vaguely worried about getting caught with it and the RCMP flipping its shit calling it a prohibited weapon, when it quick clearly is antique.

There are no serials or anything, just an old looking boot pistol.

it's got some pretty great upgrades that bring it up to modern standards though. that trigger bar system with AR trigger is a brilliant design that all bullpups should adopt from hereon out

dude, all the AR shooters are loving it, everyone says it's the first trigger in a bullpup that actually feels good to them. the transfer bar works differently, it combines the Tavor's "pulling" on the sear instead of "pushing" it method with an AR trigger
