Why doesn't any modern manufacturers make a PSO-lookalike with modern optic technology? There would be a huge market for any slavaboos or traditionalists. Buying an original PSO is a ripoff, $400 for a 4x scope made of 1960's magnesium or other shitty alloys that only uses AK-platform side mounting rails is retarded but I guess collectors like them.
Imagine a modern scope with 6x mag or higher, more visible reticle, made of steel or aluminum, and mounted on picatinny. We could probably produce those for the same price tag as the originals. They'd be eaten up like hotcakes.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for standard AK real-wood furniture? I've got my heart set on the SLR-107-11 but I gotta have muh wood. It won't require a stock adapter right? I just wanna get some ideas to see if there are any specific brands that have good quality wood and not that shitty laminate or surplus stuff. I also wanna replace the pistol grip with wood or wood-lookalike if that is possible.

Should I abandon my RPK-74M idea and instead go for an RPKS-74 with plum furniture

I have a line on a plum RPKS-74 stock but it costs a fortune. The side rail on the base rifle would have to be removed to accommodate it.

A plum RPKS-74N stock would be ideal but those are pretty much unicorn tier.

Yes, on most AKs with side rails, the rearmost rivet for the side rail also goes through the rear trunnion. There is also the foremost rivet though, which will leave a hole that will have to be welded up.

Bump rivet yes. The Vepr FMs don't actually have bump rivets, which is what initially gave me this idea. However, I think many RPK-74Ms without bump rivets, before bump rivets were adopted.

There is also the rear sight, which is slightly different, but those are on gunbroker. I think the barrel parts might be pinned instead of dimples. Can't remember off the top of my head. Probably more things, but not so much that I couldn't get away with it.
