Lads, quick question:

When dry firing pic related yesterday, I noticed that my hammer pin was rotating upon pulling and resetting the trigger. The trigger is a two stage KAC and I've never seen this in any of my geiselle or milspec ones.

If the pins aren't walking out of the receiver, should I bother in anti walk pins? Everything is working as it should, but is that rotating hammer pin something I should address?

The only thing I would say is that if this bothers you, make sure you installed the trigger pin and hammer pin correctly. The trigger pin should have a trench in the center while the trigger pin will have that same trench closer to the sides or it may even have two where the legs of the hammer springs sit over.

I actually removed the trigger pins to make sure that wasn't the case and it looks like KAC uses identical pins for the trigger and hammer. Saturday was my first outing with the KAC trigger in the SBR, and I got through 120 rounds no problem before I had to stop because I melted my supressor sleeve. If anything shitty happens I'll just make a KAC bashing thread and shitpost about it.

You might try lubing the pin and checking it and the hammer bore for burrs. The pins are not supposed to rotate, that's how you wear out receivers.

The argument that anti-rotation pin people want to sell you is that said rotation is steel on aluminum and eventually you'll wallow those holes out.

At one time I bought into that, anymore it's like, OK after 8 million rounds maybe this will be an issue??

DESU the only reason I still buy the anti rotation pins is because I am a lazy piece of shit and the little brass "bullet" they give you that threads into the pin for installation makes it SO. GODDAMN. EASY. ... Both pins just zip right in, there's no fussing with alignment.

I still believe long stroke direct gas will return in some form eventually.

It is so rare that people can effectively charge whatever they want to for the Gen 1 STALKER edition.

The gen 1 ZM made upper never was fully reliable and I got rid of it back in 2012. It shoots m193 the best but m855 and up makes it choke even harder. Makes sense since that is all we shot in the 90's.
