If I was on a tight budget, that's the best deal I've found yet. The drawbacks are

A lower is a lower is a lower generally speaking. If you're going to cheap out anywhere I say do so on the lower. Howeve if rollmarks are important to you then don't. But purely from a functional stand point the $40 anderson is going to work just fine.

From what shooting a few other folks AR's the rifle length gas system has a softer impulse, I have a shoulder injury that isn't very pleasant with carbine length ( noticed a difference when using the same stock, rifle's were comparable in weight)
