Sounds dangerous.

On another note the /GQ/ bingo with eye candy is done. It should be slightly difficult to get a bingo if no one's trying for it the way that spaces are ordered.
>>
>>33360763
I have used other tactical assault gear stuff, specifically the combat sustainment pack. that plate carrier looks a dated, bulky design. itll be fine I guess

but my pack had really shitty stitchig.
>>
>>33360937
Does that tend to be a trend with their stuff? It's hard to find gear in Multicam Tropic/Arid so I'm almost kinda stuck with them. All the reviews are positive, so maybe you just had bad luck.
>>
Are SAPIs/ESAPIs meant to be used solely with soft armor or are some stand-alone?
>>

On sale, medium Multicam Tropic.

You just gotta look around for multimeme stuff other than standard MC.

I was specifically looking for Arid, but thank you.
>>
>>33360981
Oh, yeah no clue then I hardly see Arid anywhere even some Crye stuff they don't offer it.

For plate carrier your best bet is to go with multicam OG (it's pretty close to arid) or a flat color like CT or CB.

They are rated to their military rating in conjunction with a soft armor backer, they are not rated as standalone.

That being said the military rating is separate from and exceeds NIJ lvl 4 so they do actually work as standalone against all intermediate rifle calibers.

Ok, but does exceeding NIJ IV apply only to ESAPIs in conj. w/ soft? Does it look stupid to be running around with a SAPI in a plate carrier w/o soft armor? How does the mil rating work? What's APM2?
>>
>>33360959
dude, its /k/ sometimes you have to wait a few minutes.

military armor is rated icw soft armor.
however this isnt nij rated. they tested some esapis to nij standards and they exceed nij standards

I... I don't think that's a thing anon.

Also no, fuck huge rounds like .50 cal will go through about 3-4 lvl 4 ceramic plates.
NIJ 4 is just rated to stop 30.06 AP M2 single hit. Anything more than that will most likely come in the form of better multihit performance rather than stopping larger rounds like .338 Lapua or something.

ty, how about cutting some out of another piece of armor?

Cutting soft panels? As long as you can do the same stitching and sheathing job that was done before. Would suck if the armor caught the bullet fragments but then they went flying through the side of your dollar store stitching job on the side.

I don't personally own any. While it does have the advantages that you have stated, it also has some serious disadvantages. UHMWPE (Dyneema) loses its integrity at high temperatures, so you have to be mindful if you plan to leave your plates i.e. your car on a hot summer's day. Also, UHMWPE armor can be defeated by common rounds such as the green tip M855.

That I did not know, good thing I asked about these plates. I saw the company's testing video and they were using AK's, 7.62 NATO, 5.56 (but didn't state which round) at around 50 feet of distance and the plates held their integrity.
Because the weight factor is a big concern for mobility would keeping these at home and using steel plates in the car be a better option?

It's pretty simple, just have to remember the basics. Treat neck wounds with a tight tourniquet, pack quikclot gauze into gaping chest wounds and always be looking for an excuse to recklessly stab someone in the chest with a decomp needle.

Honestly, outside of competent folks on youtube, I don't know where to look online. I'm fortunate enough to have some buddies who have or currently work in a medical first responder capacity that showed me the basic ropes to hopefully staying alive long enough to get to competent medical professionals.

I go hunting and shooting a lot, so figure it would be a good idea to know how to treat gunshot wounds and traumatic bleeding, etc.

Also with the way shit has been going in the world recently, who knows when I'll need to know how to do it?
Shootings happen every day, people have heart attacks and strokes every day, people have emergency medical situations every day.
And those people need some form of care before police/fire/EMS get on scene, because unfortunately sometimes they're too late.

Ok, I gotcha.
I started looking at getting into the medical for pretty much the same reasons to more advanced stuff in case the shit does hit the fan and hospitals would be a bad idea as they would be totally overwhelmed.

As >>33364020 mentioned these books, which I also recommend I would also add the Merk Manual, it's a reference guide for doctors and this will also help with diagnosing diseases so you could be a better judge on when antibiotics would be used. If you take antibiotics when you have a viral infection it could kill you instead of helping. Also I recommend a language of medicine textbook which is a medicine 101 for nurses and anyone who is going to school for this stuff.

Youtube can be a great help on wound closing or how to treat certain kinds of wounds.
>>
>>33364129
Check the link I posted above. LA police gear used to not have that policy in place. They probably put that in place after being hammered with orders when AR500 was all the rage. If you are looking for AR500 lv4s, here : Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/182489693085

Act 3: Never ever ever
Scene opens with johnson being a NEET loser loafing around and making pancakes at 12pm. He checks his fake facebook and alt email to see if arktis has responded. Not to his surprise, they haven't.

Johnson: Ravioli ravioli will I ever get my pantoli?
Arktis: [Silence]
Johnson: Please?
Arktis: [probably ignoring him on purpose]
Johnson: But I spent like 150 bucks on you
Arktis: [Ignoring intensifies]

Johnson is once again astonished at the bullshit that is arktis. Akrtis probably doesn't even know or care.

Scene ends.

Pat M just said what any person with common sense should already know. I appreciate the fact he's popular enough to be listened to. Muscle memory is a bitch.

You train how you fight. You should question every movement and ask yourself if its applicable in a combat situation or for ease of training.

Look up the FBI shooting where the guys were picking up their brass after reloading. That's ease of training influencing combat.

You're not wrong. It was literally designed because other services really liked MARPAT but the Marine Corps leadership were being big babies about sharing. The USMC leadership went so far as to copyright MARPAT to prevent other branches from using it.

Now the Navy issues AOR2 (woodland) camo to everybody, but it still only issues AOR 1 (desert) to SEALs and SEAL support- despite the fact that a ton of other sailors have had to deploy and operate to fucking desert/non-woodland terrain.

The politics of military camo are fucking top tier retarded, man.

All digital camos are a re-coloring of CADPAT. CAG originally tested the AOR patterns in 2005ish, didnt want em, and the SEALs picked them up from there. The marines pattented MARPAT not to orevent cross service use, but because so many countries special forces started using it and they were tored of third world shitlords using their camo.
>>
>>33370691
There's more to digital camo then just color pallet. There's size of squares, shapes and all that good stuff. I wouldn't call all digital camona cadpat recolor even if we were the first to adopt it we weren't the first to think of the idea.

Sorry for the late response.
Well quick question first, is 20L~ too small for an "3-day" pack? It's just for short camping trips and hikes (and the occasional LARPING :^))
I want something on the more compact side and preferably in colors similar to ranger green and mas grey.
Originally I was considering really small packs like Haley's Flatpack and LBT MAPs but those might be to small. I like the size of the LBT 2595s and the Flatpack+ though. Other than that I was looking at outdoor research, mystery ranch, and TAD but I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions?

Another question:
What's the difference between LBX and LBT? From what I've read it's just side company aimed at the airsoft community but quality wise it's basically on par while being cheaper? I ask because LBX has a product that's basically the same as the LBT 2595s called the LBX 0064 that's cheaper and comes in more color variety.

>>
>>33371003
LBX is a sublet of LBT. Your right in the fact that LBX was created as a way for LBT to create cheaper products, designed more for the airshit community, when they realized everyone wanted 6094's but couldn't afford it. I can't comment on the quality as I dont have any LBX stuff, but Im willing to bet there are some sacrifices. I still would feel safe buying an LBX product, as LBT is known for its quality and customer service, but I think you'd have to keep an open mind that you get what you pay for.
>>
>>33371003
>LBT 2595
For LBE stuff I wouldn't personally trust non-American/Euro made. LBX is the same stuff just not made in the U.S. If it's significantly cheaper then why not but I personally wouldn't.

I'm an assistant gunner so I kinda need a big-ass pouch for MG rounds. Tried wearing it on the side of my plate carrier, but it proved too awkward so I slapped it on my belt and called it a day.

Just wait for LBT to do a sale. That's what I did with my bag, I'm a poorfag student, no way I was spending $220 for it, no matter how much I liked the color. I'm sure LBX will be just fine for what you need out of it though, anon.
>>
>>33371158
What LBX pack are you looking at exactly? If I were you id get the LBT 3day when its on sale in the color you'd like. You can scoop it for like 100-150 on sale. Anything more than a 3-day pack and you might as well get a full sized pack or ruck.

Personally I prefer having a 3-day and then a ruck. I just choose between the two when going out.

Can anyone, fucking anyone, tell me if this MK 6 combat helmet is good?
>>
>>33371251
Not much to really say about it man. I mean its a helmet, I dont know the specific ratings of it, but like most helmets, id expect it to help with sharpnel, but direct bullets your rolling dice. Had a buddy who got shot in the brain bucket w/ 7.62 and it bounced off, heard other stories of it going right through.

What it comes down to is weight, and if its comfortable. IDK the weight, but it doesn't look comfy. Is it good for SHTF? Probably, especially for that price. Would I conduct combat operations with it? No, id upgrade.

It weighs about 2, maybe 2 1/2 pounds, the pads inside are covered in actual leather and it feels pretty good, this version says it was issued in 89 so the foam inside the pads is pretty compressed but I like it regardless.

If you want to add different pads you can do that, using velcro patches placed on the inside. Like I said though I wouldn't worry too much.
