What it do Frenchman. I've been on the fence about an HK45c lately...either that or a Springer TRP 1911.

>dat OD frame aesthetic

hnnnng
>>
>>33324193
HK45C all day my brotha. It's way better than the HK45 full size if you ask me, except for the rail, you'll have to shop for a Viridian lamp or a TLR3. I didn't because I feel like it's nice as it is. But I should probably shop for a small light to have on the side with it.

Strangely enough, it's the only of my guns that I don't have much pictures of, even thouh it's my favorite handgun beside the USP that I kinda regret selling but hey, that OD HK45 is sexy as fuck too and the rig with it ? Fucking terrible man.

I've been leaning 45c myself man...could pull double duty as a carry gun. Already have some 1911 goodness and as much as I want a TRP, it's probably only a marginal increase in quality/performance.

Not too worried about the rail...probably wouldn't throw a pistol light on there.
>>
>>33324159
What else would you add to the belt?
>>
>>33324253
Honestly, if I were to do it again, maybe I would have buy myself a second HK45C, now that I'm thinking about it. Using the HK45CT with a WML and the other one to beat the shit out of it.

But hey, it's HK, I can beat the shit out of all those anyway.

Nothing really. More just finalizing layout and potentially replacing that holster. It's great for concealment but I'll probably get a mid-ride made for that VP9 for competition and course stuff.

It's HK. You can beat the shit out of it all you want and it will come out the other end shining. You know dis.

Yeah. My USP took some bretty good beating, saw probably thousands of rounds before me and with me and still was better than 83% of the other guns I had. The 17 other % being HK kek.

Strikefired ? Glock. I customed the hell out of one. They're not pretty but good everywhere, even some of them are grenades :^) plus with a bit of work you can make one totally aesthetic. If I were to go back to 9mm, maybe I'd get myself a G34 and a G26 and John Wick the hell out of them.

Hammer fired ? The new CZ P07 (not the first batch that came out, those were really shitty, FTE / FTF / double feed all the time) seems like a great compact do everything gun to me.

45 acp ? I'd stick with a 1911, custom it just like pic related because it's the one I customed for my dad :^)

>I read the pastebin but it didn't go into detail about why AR500 packages are garbage. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Even if they worked as advertised, no advantages over ceramics. People who vaunt "multihit!" must even admit that by the time you're getting hit 5+ times, the spall coating will definitely be gone (assuming the spall coating worked as advertised).

The fact that "NIJ III+" is used in advertising is deceptive and makes me trust them less, since it *implies* it's an NIJ rating when it isn't.

NUMEROUS recalls over product QC issues should cast extreme doubt over reliability.

The anti-ceramic arguments are usually sour grapes idiocy from people who think "ceramic = kitchen plate material"

>Also, what should come first, rifle optic or plates + carrier?

tbqh, if you care about any kind of "practical" use: Pistol+CCW holster, then medical kit + training. After that it's all LARP gear.

It's mostly the fact that Black Multicam is useless as a camouflage. I've got a buddy who has it and it even stands out at night time because of the pattern.

It's neat, but it's not effective nor is it meant to be. If you want a Multicam that would work in your environment, Tropic would probably fit the bill.
>>
>>33326952
AR500 packages are garbage because AR500 is garbage.

They've had constant recalls, QC issues, and recent stuff not even passing NIJ testing. It's heavy for what you're actually buying and steel is just a flat "no" in the first place. In terms of ceramics they're probably one of the most mediocre in terms of Ceramic plate quality. It's very heavy and there are dozens of other far better dealers out there for probably cheaper as well.

I love Mechanix gloves for how tactile they are and how easy it is to work in them. They are pretty rugged from a material standpoint but when I would work labor jobs I'd go through a pair or two in a week.

Hopefully their bigger/more tactical line of gloves hold up better. If not their other ones are cheap enough you could buy 5 pairs for the cost of a single pair of cheaper outdoor research ones.

Yeah they suck for water and snow, I agree on that, I got myself a pair of their more "winter" gloves, I'll see if they're anygood next time it rains here.

So story time.

>be me young handsome scottish / asian guy born in France, with a decent sense of morale. So, I moved back from Paris after dodging the Bataclan with my girlfriend and ended back in a cinema. Having friends taking bullet to the knees and the usual violence of Paris really ended up boring the hell out of me.
>So I moved to my hometown, in the French Alps. Opened an asian restaurant. And then it fucking happened. All those drug dealers getting out of jail, taking over the neighbourhood.
>I'm not a coward. I don't run away. And they just love it. So they started by breaking some stuff of mine. They trashed the menu out of my restaurant. They punctured the tires of the dad's car. Two of them. TWICE.
>Then they fucking attacked with an electric shocker an old lady in front of me. That was it. I made them run away. Then at night they would follow me. One night, as I was walking my battlebuddy, they attacked me with a knife, battlebuddy and myself made them run away again after biting the arm of one and puching his head several times.
>I dodged a bad stab and just got myself three very light cut on the left arm.
>This very night, they tried to burn my restaurant with me and my parents inside. I made them run away again, pushed away the containers with all the oil in it.
>So they tried again next day.
>They tossed rocks and bricks to all the windows of my restaurant
>I should probably mention that 5 cops of the BAC were detained that week end because they shot a guy pointing a "fake gun" at them with a machete
>So no cops
>They were coming with molotov cocktails
>But they ran away once again because my dad and I we really pissed.

Now there's a """""truce""""" because I know a guy who knows a guy, who knows a guy.

But honestly, it's just another sign that civil war is coming / here

>>
>>33327914
Lbt 9093. Wouldn't really reccomend it desu unless you have some actual stuff to put in the pack. I use it as a hydration carrier and then will carry extra batteries, more med stuff, and a bunch of smaller tools ie multitool, needle nose pliers, hatchet fits in the bigger pocket.

Unless you're carrying some extra stuff then it's too big. And too small to be more than a day pack. I'd reccomend the (Eagle?) pack. GT has it in one of his videos and it's the same thing but a smaller.

Would it be completely out of line for you to have a firearm in the restaurant to use in situations like that? Is it one of those standard Euro situations where the range or the safe are the only acceptable places to have a firearm at any given time?

Local law enforcement got my back when they can though. It's not their fault most of the time...France judicial system is fucked up.

Once when I was in Seine Saint-Denis, which is fucking Saint-Denistan to be true, a dindunuthin' was insulting my mother, was threatening to me and tried to trash out or tobacco store.

I was 17 at the time, ended up pushing him out of the store with my dad. He broke my glasses, so I punched him until he was out, my battlebuddy bit his arm (yeah, he likes biting arms, good doggo). In the end, my dad got fined (as the dindu, because, it was fucking obvious he was guilty, with like, clear evidences) and they tried with me too until our lawyer told them that I was minor at the time (justice BTFO, can't even read a date of birth). Also, the judges told my dad and I that "no one goes into a store to be attacked by a group and that we were lucky enough that they didn't ask to put the dog down".

Really, the more I think about it, the more I know that I fucked up staying here. That's funny in a sad way.

Well, at least I have good buddys and can still get a bit of the gear / firearms fun.

I needed some boots for work after my last ones took a dump, picked up a set of side zip boots for $25 at Big 5 Tactical Goods with tip money, so essentially zero out of pocket.
I work as a tow truck driver so they see some pretty hard use. There's a lot of climbing and jumping involved in all sorts of climate and environments.

Normally I'd use Belleville, Danner or Bates boots, but I didn't have that kind of cash right now.

closest place to ask currently

What's the gist on quikclot currently? I know in the past theres been shit about it being hard to remove and causing blood clots to kill your ass, but have they changed anything yet?

Also what's the point of the sponge versus the folded gauze? I'd imagine anything severe enough that requires a hemostatic would be a penetrating wound where stuffing it with gauze would be more effective than setting something on top
>>
>>33331154
And actually use my gear? Pffft. I work in an office now where the most interesting thing that happens is someone forgets a memo.

>my warrior spirit is dying senpai
>>
>>33331933
According to the TCCC course I took the gist is that the powder is still fucking awful for a variety of reasons.

Opinion there on the treated gauze was that it didn't cause problems, but it wasn't really any more effective than untreated gauze- and you can't use it on eye or face wounds, making it less versatile.

> I'd imagine anything severe enough that requires a hemostatic would be a penetrating wound where stuffing it with gauze would be more effective than setting something on top

Tangential- use an occlusive seal if possible on shit rather than just stuffing everything you see with gauze. Gauze stuffing is for the groin and armpit where an occlusive seal won't work.
>>
>>33331933
The sponge is also a thermogenic and it causes severe burns to the surrounding skin. I'm not sure if this problem is the same with the gauze and powder

Although with combat gauze you need to put that right up in the artery for it to work. Otherwise the clotting agent won't do its job.

Quikclot the powder form is still bad.
>>
>>33332015
>Tangential- use an occlusive seal if possible on shit rather than just stuffing everything you see with gauze. Gauze stuffing is for the groin and armpit where an occlusive seal won't work.

Go on Crye's Website and go with the basic components you want. The only things you really NEED are the plate bags and harness (or skeletal cummerbund and yoke). As long as you order the plate bags with the suspension you want Crye will set it up for you which is nice because otherwise it's a bitch to put together (or so I hear).

So I see a lot of guys that have gloves attached to belts using 'biners and such. I'm probly just dumb, but how exactly does that work in as far as taking them off to put on. Isn't it extremely awkward to do? I feel like I'm missing something? Do you take the 'biner off WITH the gloves, or take each one off the 'biner separately?
>>
>>33333192
I love 'biners, but seriously fuck using that shit with gloves. Just loop a rubber/hairband somewhere and use that to trap your gloves - keeps em from flopping around

What this sad individual is trying to say is, take the gloves off the biner. Better yet, don't use a biner. Wear the gloves, when not in use, tuck them in your back pocket like a normal human, or gp pouch, or another pocket. Point is, putting them on a carabiner is more trouble and adds something for shit to snag on.

Powder is a no go. Sponges are a waste of time. Combat gauze is the way to go when applied correctly.

Let me emphasize that. When. Applied. Correctly. Packed in, held with pressure (like, set your knee on it) for at least three minutes, and bandaged over.
>>33332015
Occlusive seals go on the chest/back to allow breathing. Of course you don't want to go packing thoracic wounds with gauze.

So, I placed an order with Gearcraft on 9 February for their micro chest rig and 3 of their faux tacos. I haven't heard shit from them since, no order confirmation or shipping info or anything.

I sent them an email in both English and google-translated Russian on Monday inquiring about the order, and haven't gotten a response yet.

Their website estimated total order completion time of 3-5 weeks for my address specifically when I placed it and promised an order confirmation within 72 hours and fully transparent processing (IE they'd send an email when it was confirmed, when it was processed for shipping, and status updates with tracking number for it going through customs which was supposed to be the big holdup).

I think I got ripped off. Should I dispute the charges with paypal, or continue to wait? I've got until 9 August before I can't dispute it any more.

I just realized mine's so old it doesn't have the zip front and is buckle only.

Also if I shorten the takeup straps in the back enough it rides high enough the drag handle doesn't sit on the back of my neck.

I may make some alterations to it like making the top buckle non-adjustable and reroute the back straps into an X, but it's definitely usable as is.

Sounds like you'd be best served keeping a couple commercial 3L or 1gal jugs of water in your trunk. Hot water is still water and unless you live in the frozen wastes it will remain liquid for the next ~6 months.

Which other than the ~$2 buying it at walmart leaves you with med shit.

A basic bleeder/blowout setup should run you under $40
>cheap crinkle gauze, 2 packs
>israeli bandage
>CAT-TC
You can use a flap-top mag pouch until you get a good IFAK pouch with that little amount of stuff
>>
>>33338811
To expound on this,
>Israeli bandage
Runs from $6-9
>crinkle gauze
Runs around $3 for a 6ftx1" roll in a standard medical soft blister pack or around $6 for the vacuum-sealed "combat" heavy-mil wrapper
>tourniquet
I know I said the CAT-TC but I'm finding SOFTT's cheaper by about $10 in most places. Unless you're willing to use a surplus one that may either be out of its wrapper or have a compromised wrapper (not a big deal on a TQ but some people are anal) they're gonna run you $25-40. If you are willing to get a milsurp CAT-TC they're like $5 but I recommend buying 2 at a go in case one's defective.

Setting: Facebook, Alt account.
Scene opens with Johnson PMing with the Arktis guy. Johnson being the headstrong resiliant bastard he is continues his quest for his goddamn pants. Arktis guy seems scared and confused, not sure why he has to eat all the eggs.

Johnson, question: Will I ever get my arktis pants?
Arktis guy, statement: YEAH WE'LL SEND ANOTHER PAIR RIGHT NOW!!
Johnson, statement: When will I get my arktis pants?
Arktis guy: [silence is all I've ever known]

With this Johnson once again has to continue his quest. Answers seemingly will never come.

Caching. Don't carry everything around, that's uneconomic. Put stuff away here and there, especially on routes you need when something happens. That way you'll always have shit nearby. With enough caches you can loose half your shit and still have more than you need without carrying shit.

So far to go is one more double pistol pouch for a knife and light, a small acc pouch for batteries and odds-n-ends and some kind of pack/bladder carrier and a short radio pouch because I dont want to take the one i have off my ilbe assault pack.

Do you have anything on your cumminersnatch?
>>
>>33342875
On it? I have an IFAK at my 10 o'clock and the small acc will sit at my my 2 o'clock orher than that, no. I like to keep it as open as possible. As far as in it there are the HDPE inserts I made today and level IIIA inserts.
