I was on my 5th sortie to 4-5, going to yasen with three sanshiki ships perfectly healthy, one at chuuha, the boss at 300hp and one other ship at taiha. I thought, "oh good, a 5 for 5 4-5 month, I really needed this."

Naturally they choked and left the boss at 45 HP with three missed shots at yasen. That was four hours and 60 buckets ago. I'm not even sure why I'm doing this.

In case of my Wolf it's perfectly justified. There were many times when I had problems with some map but when I put her in the fleet, even instead of CLT or BB, she brought me victories. I also love how she's a mature woman in base.
I think it's very strange that she's one of few girls with fighting spirit. They're warships, this trait should be more common. Her strive for victory is contagious, it fills me with optimism for upcoming battles and makes them more interesting.

I was bored so when my Shioi took 21 damage from Ro flagship diamond formation (she was 22/24 hp, 24 armor, no crit) i decided to calculate why the overkill protection didn't proc. I checked wiki and wikia but they have different ASW modifier for diamond formation, wiki show 90% and wikia 120% so i did this :

Ro flagship 55 base ASW + 7 depth charge
Formula is (2 * √(Ship ASW) + 1.5 * Equipment ASW + Type) * Bonus so
(2 * √(55) + 1.5 * 7 + 13) * 1 = 38.332
I include formation modifier so 38.332*0.9 = 34.499 for wiki and 38.332*1.2 = 45.998 for wikia.
Now Shioi effective armor range : Armor × 0.7 + Random(0 ~ Armor -1) × 0.6 so 16.8 + 0~13.8 so Shioi effective armor varies from 16.8 to 30.6
Right now you can see that wiki's modifier is wrong, even with the lowest armor roll Shioi can only take 17.699 maximum. With wikia's modifier, it varies to 29.198 ~ 15.398 so it works. Or maybe i am wrong somewhere ?

Why do rankfags marry 6 subs ? For the consumption bonus ? The extra evasion is that great on them even with the hp bonus increasing the chance of no overkill protection ? For the "Hey look i am so hardcore at ranking" when you see them in PvP ?
I do north route when ranking but bauxite cost is quite high on the long term when you still need Taihou and radars. When i'm waiting for morale, i do south with 6 subs but it's a russian roulette even before the boss then i see the cost and it's so low. This is why you get everything you want and then do ranking. 12-16 Type 32 surface radars and 8 kai 4 radars or Type 33 radars will set you for the rest of the game. Marrying your ranking fleet is a little iffy since you either use them like tools or like them enough to suffer with them.

I gained resources while doing E1-E6 Hard over 16 days but that left me with little time for E7 and I had no time in weekends and some busy evenings. I should have been able to clear E7 Hard even without taking the day off but I would likely be forced to go at it until last days. I started the event with 100k/768 buckets and finished with 60k/273 buckets
