not to be mean but why are you posting multiple relatively minor updates to an image in such a small time frame?

still, i notice you're getting some stairstepping in your lines, if you're not using a stabilizer you might want to try lazy nezumi, it has an option that can fix the weird jagginess of lines that were drawn zoomed out even if you choose not to use any of it's actual line stabilization tools. also go through your brushes and make sure the quality settings are set as high as they can go (unless you're running on a slower machine that can't handle them)
>>
>>2925131

its a bad habit, mostly because I take multiple breaks since I do my actual job and use painting as a buffer for when I get side-tracked

I'll check out nezumi. its a problem for sure. thank you for the tips, friend.

Me too. Joking aside, how do I fix this? I've heard this exact same word a lot, so I'm curious what you have to say beyond it.

Fingers, my dude. Take a good look, they don't bend like that unless an Italian is trying to send a message back to someone's family.

gestures, gestures, gestures! lines that are fluid and curved create a much more lively doodle
>>
>>2925195
But the age range I'm drawing has little to no fat, so it's just limbs and nice flatness. Limbs don't bend beyond joints. I understand that you probably mean the pose, but I don't see an alternative for "reaching to pull off other kneesock while propped up on elbow".

It's not about body fat, it's about posing. What you're talking about is surface detail, what we're talking about is how the underlying structure is arranged. Even with a scrawny character, there should be a fluidity to the pose or it won't feel natural.

1. Cut that out with the purple blot on the shoulders. I understand why it's there, but it's done so badly stylistically. Look up your favorite artists to see how they colored shoulders.

2. Hard edges. 100% Opacity and hardness, go over contour again.

3. The color pallet is dead, your choices of color make the skin plastic. On the color picker, never go down direcrly for varying darkness, make a C while you pick color.

4. Legs freakishly long. If the hands are at the midpoint of the thigh, imagine where her hip would be.

Well, I was originally going to give her prosthetic legs, and have her getting up from being tripped, but I decided I had no good ideas for limbs, so I switched it to her getting up from lying down to pull off kneesocks. Then why wouldn't she be lying on her back, pulling her knee up to her chest? What is she lying on? If it's the floor (with her stiff pose, that's what it looks like at the moment), why would she masturbate on the floor? If it's a bed, there should be more give around her weight-bearing areas (elbow, hips, etc.).

Your style seems inspired by oldschool disney (the eyes anyway, reminds me of ariel). Don't shade with one directional lines like that, look up directional lines to learn about shading to highlight contours of the face. If you'd rather go for cartoony, block it in, just do not use scribble lines like you've done. And unless that hair? is covered by fishnets, don't ever color like that.

This is amazing, yet somehow feels off. I can't pin point exactly what it is but something about the face is throwing my off. Not an issue of the structure or anything, but the likeliness of the character seems off. Only other thing I can say is it's kind of a shame that you put all that effort into the face/hair but not as much with the rest. I still really like it though.

Also do you have a website you don't mind sharing?

>Make her head a little larger (since the neck is too big and women usually have 2 head length shoulders, not 3 like men)

No you have your priorities right, construct THEN render. Rather git gud with forms first than render "polished" turds.

That being said, the only thing that needs fixing is the neck placement. Necks aren't in the middle of your skull anon, it rests closer to the back of the head.
>>
>>2925697
Could add more to the hairline and the left part of the hair doesn't quite seem to be attached to the head. Folding on the clothes needs to be reworked a bit.
>>
>>2925697
Her right cheekbone should be closer to nose level. Tinker with her mouth and chin more, you can make it look better. Also, make more sense out of her hairline.
>>

uh, i can't believe i didn't see that.

How do you even paint like this/render? What is the best guide/resource? I really need help with how people go from grey shading to coloring stuff, thanks.
>>
>>2926504
Oh, nono i painted it directly with colours, i also can't go from grey scale to colour properly.
For the record tho, there's a trick i got from a twitch stream (don't remember from who)
If you are working on Photoshop, go to
>View-> Proof Setup -> Custom
Then, where it says 'Device to simulate' choose
>Working Gray - Dot Grain 20%
Hit Ok, and from now on, you can swap from a grey scale to colour view with Ctrl+Y.
You can even work with colours while on grey scale view, because you aren't modifying the colours themselves

lighting setup have inconsistencies, if the shadow starts on the middle of her nose as it comes from the right, her hair should behave the same

the brights that come from the BG reflected light should follow form and be stopped by previous masses like the hair on the face or the tits on the arm, as it would "cast" shadow of that rim light

I will say this, though. All of your lines have the same weight to them. Hard for me to tell what you want people to focus on.
Also, the hip area looks a bit awkward. Hard for me to tell where the iliac crest and the head of the femur is. Almost like the area between these two points was inflated with air.

Depends on what you're after, if backgrounds try to do more studies, find backgrounds that you like and re-draw or reference them. Study construction.

For the body I'd say just do more gesture study, maybe do 20 60 second gestures a day, just so you can get your poses to look more fluid.

Everything besides that is just draw more, if you're looking to break your comfort zone I advise doing lineless finished stuff.

i look up to an consciously take influence from too many artists to count since i switch styles up a lot depending on whatever i'm working on

mike mignola & hiroyuki imaishi are the big two that really got me into drawing, pretty much any artist who's worked on tank girl, daisuke nakayama, takeshi koike, yoh yoshinari & stephen silver off the top of my head

when drawing porn i tend to like to channel the more cartoony side of onta/doxy, some fishine, lotta budu-nsfw

i'm not really into many artists who're known mostly for having worked on video games save like maybe old bengus when he worked traditional and akihido yoshida i guess, OOOH, and kinu nishimura, how could i forget

Placement of nose and mouth is off. Nose it too long (gives off weird bird person vibes) also resting too shallow on face - makes it look pinched. Bring the bottom of the nose up a bit so there's more room between it and lips.
The eye is also slanted up a bit too much, and a bit too high (pupil is usually in line with the bridge of nose).
Neck also looks a bit wiggly and weird in the front there. Define neck muscles more etc.

this is just a stylistic thing, but such grey/purplish colors don't really give skin a good luster? It looks drained and less erotic(which i guess is what you want with so much cleavage), reddish/pinkish tones give a more flushed feeling

If you can't even draw properly, don't use "it is my style" as an excuse you pathetic fucks.

Can anybody explain me the technique behind such rendering?

How the fuck did he do this?
Is it a color painting and he's just a fucking god?
Was it multi-layered BW coloring with gradient maps?

How does this work?
>>
>>2927571
I love that concept. Very cute.
>>
>>2927571
understand color temperature, but yeah you can color grade an image using a gradient map or curves on an adjustment layer. Make sure your values are correct tho obv.
>>
>>2927571
Just looks panted to be honest. He could have started greyscale and added colour to it, then painted on top a bit, or just painted it normally. The end result isn't due to some magic method though.
>>
>>2927571
it's called limited palette.
and it's also just a well rendered turd. those legs are so flat it hurts my eyes.

To be fair, anime is all about the correct shapes. It's just not general stuff like circles and squares but more how a head should be stylized with just the right curve and proportions that match to your liking.

If you mean the skin or lightning effects, it's pretty easy to do such effects in CSP. The original isn't even that good, actually, aside from the the golden and blue fabric. Just use SMOOTHER WATERCOLOR AND OIL BRUSHES with slightly tweaked settings.

It's way off perspective from the upper half of her body. That's not how you use perspective lines.
>>
>>2928345
To elaborate, you set the horizon way too low as evidenced by looking at her shoulder and hat area, looks like you just set a line and said fuck this and scribbled in some 'perspective grid' for the feet. Her body is learning too rightward and looks fucked up with those legs.

Looks really good. You used perspective really well imo and it looks really appealing.
What looks kinda off though is her armpit on the right. Im not too familiar with the anatomy but her deltoid seems to big on the backside, additionally we should be able to see part of her scapula. The breast to the right (her left) looks a little wonky atm, looked more solid before but i really like how you draw breasts especially the left one looks nice.
And it would be cool to see you use more lineweight.

I love your drawing and I hope you post here more often. Cheers
