Anyone here ever buy something like pic related? There are a lot of similar things in aluminum, but I would prefer stainless steel or titanium (but those seem way too expensive). Preferably with an inner diameter of at least 15mm and maybe up to 30 or 40mm.

some stuff from ali and taobao arrived last week that i didn't have time to post

first up, TY Hi-Z awk-314p 32ohm
they're about twice as expensive as the standard 32 ohm ones, they sound very similar although not quite as strong bass. the main difference is the housing, it has a larger diameter and a different housing. found the normal mx500 style to be more comfortable desu

i don't have any iems under 100 so can't help you there. lots of good earbuds for that price (seahf 650/400/320 ohm, rose masya, k's earphone 500ohm)

made to order pairs start at just over 100 USD

i bought a 6BA pair from this guy for 110 with dhl, https://twitter.com/HotfiEarphone/status/877756767920308224

i use a mixture of iems and earbuds at home depending on how i'm feeling. i listen to music while i'm at work, probably average about 7 hours of music each workday including my lunch so comfort is important. isolation isn't as good as iems obviously but it's a tradeoff for comfort and the open sound signature

http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/23/china/china-toothpick-crossbow/index.html

>"This is not a toy, but a mini weapon of destruction," Yan Yan, a mother commented on Weibo, China's answer to Twitter.

>Police in the eastern province of Zhejiang sent 3,973 officers to check businesses and confiscated 528 miniature crossbows. Police in Yunnan and Sichuan, in China's southwest, conducted similar operations.

>"Business owners shouldn't sell toys that are physically or mentally harmful to minors,"said the Administration for Industry and Commerce of Chengdu,in the provincial capital of Sichuan.

>"Once found, the products will be pulled from the shelves and the businesses will be punished. "

>Despite its tiny size, a toothpick launched by the crossbow is powerful enough to pierce an aluminum can from 20 to 66 feet, according to toy packaging shown in avideoby China's state broadcaster CCTV.

>It can cause even more damage if loaded withharder ammunition like needles.

>Parents' worries aren't unfounded. A 10-year-old in Xinjiang, west China was hurt by a toothpick crossbow in his right eye last Sunday, resulting in an irreversible eyesight loss, reports the local Urumqi Evening News.

I checked out the wiki for tablets but they're all more expensive and higher specced than the Mediapad T3 10 I was originally considering. The Chuwi Hi12 sale on banggood (200€ from 337€) is pretty tempting, but I'm wondering if there aren't cheaper alternatives I should look at.
I'm looking to replace my Surface RT which essentially functions as a manga reader. It works fine for the most part but a portion of the screen doesn't register touch and it's slow enough to be completely unusable with any 'legit' reader, like Comixology's with touch taking over 5 seconds to register. Not to mention it's pretty thick, heavy and a has Windows RT as the OS.
I figure I don't need much specs-wise which is why I'm a bit hesitant to just order the Hi12. Are sales like this common? The more I type the more I'm starting to think I should just go for it, that big hi-res screen sounds real nice even if overkill (last manga I read had the pages 800px wide). Thanks for any help, never used these sites before.

You're right, I was originaly aiming for 10" just because that's roughly what my current one is. Thanks to the Mi pad's aspect ratio there's less wasted space, so effectively it isn't that much smaller. The Surface has pretty significant black bars at the top and bottom when reading.
The Mi pad looks good but the specs are even more overkill than the Hi12's, I feel like I'd be overpaying for things I won't benefit from. I'll think about it though, thanks.

Mine had a pretty bad fall and it was protected okay. The more important protection is a screen protector since a shattered screen is the most common thing to happen to any phone. When I dropped my phone down some stairs it left a crack in the screen protector but no damage underneath.

I also prefer a 4:3 aspect ratio for reading manga. But I cannot recommend the MiPad 3. Its software is plain awful. And Xiaomi has astonishingly AWFUL support for their 3 tablets. I am using a 2015 Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, and the AMOLED panel is amazing when compared to LCDs. Right now, the 2016 generation should be getting a really good discount (it's around 244€ here) and it has adequate performance and some custom ROM support. Also, Samsung's multiwindow implementation in Android 7 is great.

I used a pair of ceramic knives bought from china. Advice: Don't buy metal knives from china, they'll sell you garbage. But the ceramic ones are decent enough.

They were sharp. I accidentally cut my finger on them a few times. I've never used 'brand name' or whatever ceramic knives so I can't compare them but they worked just fine.

I had some issues with them but these issues were issues with ceramic knives in general. For example, the material seems to have more friction with food, so even though they're super sharp, they glide through food with a little more resistance, defeating the point of them being sharp a little bit.

However, they will never need sharpening. They are more fragile but they were easily strong enough to withstand general usage. I dropped them a few times, no problems- just don't shove them in the sink where they get bashed to shit by other cutlery.

Personally I am sticking with a decent locally made (same country) full tang steel blade.

Pure specs aren't much use when comparing CPUs because, again, ARM often gets cut up to have better power consumption at the expense of performance.

you just pull out the old earpads and "wrap" new earpads around the headphones, it's hard to describe in just text. there are plenty of videos showing this process.

anything velour will be very comfy, leather is better for isolation. Brainwavz makes higher quality and far more expensive versions of these pads and it's up to you how much you want to spend. You can get generic pads for about $4, but brainwavz velour pads start at $24.

I personally own one, it's not very bad, sure expect camera quality to be lacking if you're going to put a custom ROM on it which I highly suggest. But the phone per she isn't very bad once you also get a case for it and some protective glass. I'm happy with it personally, custom ROMs might give you some issues now and then but if you chose it carefully it's ok. Maybe consider other phones if you're not much for a lesser build quality since it is at a high risk of shattering if you've got butter fingers

mp3 players are way better than using your smartphone, they're lighter, have far longer battery lives and always have sd card slots

>>
>>61077231
> they're lighter
Phone + PMP is not lighter than phone only, and you are probably going to carry it everywhere

>have far longer battery lives
Not all of them, the Ruizi X02 has a good battery life, same with the Sansa Clip but Hi-fi shit usually marks on the 10-12h, lower than most phones

>always have sd card slots
Just like any phone that isn't shit

You only have a valid reason to use a PMP if it has better audio quality than a phone.
>>
>>61077308

A separate device, given reasonable size, weight, and low maintenance, is always better. Good thing PMPs fit those criteria perfectly, better than bluetooth speakers, cameras, earpieces and GPS that still exist.
