server side logic, see rails, django, jsp.
>>

I have only used html/css/js until now, what's that server side logic?

All my server does with my test page is serve the files as requested.
>>
>>60855647
you make reddit
how do you keep users logins, passwords, comments history...
>>
>>60855647
it's used for dynamic generated pages.

html/css/js is the end result the client sees, but application logic is usually on the server.

take 4chan for example, you request a thread and it returns you a page with all current posts fetched from a database.
>>
>>60855672
Whoa so that's a completely different thing than what's taught to beginners.

So then every piece of content is kept into a database, fetched then put into the html and served?

How exactly do you store a bunch of text of an article for example? Using "text" instead of "varchar" in mysql?

it depends, you can't generalize this.
if you have large chunks of text then a text optimized database field is what you want.

So it should be Spring for Java then.

Now I go to their website and this is what I find:
https://spring.io/

>Let's build a better Enterprise.
>Spring helps development teams everywhere build simple, portable, fast and flexible JVM-based systems and applications.
Wel... I go the the help pages:
https://spring.io/understanding/REST
>REST (Representational State Transfer) was introduced and defined in 2000 by Roy Fielding in his doctoral dissertation. REST is an architectural style for designing distributed systems. It is not a standard but a set of constraints, such as being stateless, having a client/server relationship, and a uniform interface. REST is not strictly related to HTTP, but it is most commonly associated with it.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

I'm searching the best options for voice recognition on Linux.

I want it to be able to understand me even if it's not connected to the internet.
I'm fine with it only understanding predefined commands, it doesn't have to understand everything I say.
I want it to be able to pipe recognized commands into some bash script or some other way I can use the results.

Any ideas?

if people don't know this thread exists they aren't going to search for it, so it's better if it pops onto the first page every now and then.

so today while i was off at work my parents texted me saying they had a bunch of problems with the internet. so i tried to access my rutorrent online but couldn't connect and then i tried to ssh in and also could not connect. im dont really know if rtorrent was causing the problems and ive left it alone plenty of times before without any trouble, but im still a little worried that it may be a bit to aggressive so i want to do something about it. also it seems like a pretty good idea anyways

right now I allow connection through a tor hs only for both the ssh server and rutorrent because of the nat-punching abilities and because i already have tor connected 99% of the time anyway, so i figure some kind of shut-off could be based on that

tl;dr: how hard would it be to write a script that tells rtorrent to pause all traffic if tor doesn't say that it is connected, and then start seeding and stuff again once the connection is fine? i have no real programming experience

NO IM NOT TORRENTING OVER TOR AND THIS IS NOT A QUESTION ABOUT TORRENTING OVER TOR ONLY SSH TRAFFIC AND THE WEB UI IS GOING OVER TOR

Arch is not recommended for complex setups that include RAID. Few things to remember when using arch: read the pacman/install log after updates, read RSS distro news, and never pacman -Sy then -Su. Always -Syu!

There's plenty of hacks to make your distro fail safe like making snapshots of your / then reflashing it when shit happens.

I have an tp-link archer c7 ac1750 router and I can get it up and running again.
It stopped responding a few months ago and I didn't have time to fix it then.
Now when I tried to follow the hard reset procedure (hold reset button for 8 seconds until it starts blinking) it doesn't start blinking as it should.
So I did some searching and apparently people who run DD-wrt on this router have had a bug with it not responding to the reset. There doesn't seem to be any other people that have issues with this.
But I'm quite confident I didn't install DD-wrt on this router. Regardless I looked for how to upload the old software package to it and it involves some Wireshark things.
When I start it while holding down reset (not sure if this is called firmware upload mode or not) and run nmap I find a host on ip 192.168.0.86. But it has the wrong Mac address. It doesn't correspond to any device I have at all. In Wireshark I'm supposed to see that the device is looking for a specific ip via arp but it doesn't send anything at all.
This is super confusing.

Does anyone know how to unbrick this thing? It seems weird that I'd have gotten to this situation because I'm almost 100% sure I've only used it as your normal home user would.

Intel has more varied results due to the mayonnaise they use under the heatshield. Also the AMD stock cooler is much better than what Intel offers. But if you have an aftermarket cooler and not too bad of a luck then they both perform similarly when comparing temperatures.

Download MSI Smart tools (Here: https://files.catbox.moe/37adyp.zip or from MSI website).

Run it, select your USB with the installer, click add USB drivers, let it run.

Built my comp. AOC monitor works in both nvidia 960 gpu and onboard asus port. HD television only works in gpu port. I want to get the tv connected to onboard while my monitor is connected to gpu.

Intel hd graphics control panel detects both display simultaneously, but I can't access it when my monitor is connected to gpu. When I access Nvidias control panel (monitor connected to gpu), it won't detect anything connected to the onboard port.

Both devices are connected via hdmi.

How do I get nvidia to detect my television, or access intel hd graphics when my monitor is connected to gpu?

I'm using a ASRock Fatal1ty B350 mobo with Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. I have two USB 2.0 ports that I've been using. It's able to boot from the USB drive, but then immediately crashes after the first windows screen pops up where you choose the language.

I used Heidoc to get the ISO for Windows 7 Home and I used rufus to make the bootable USB drive. Thanks so much for the help, can I give you anymore info?

Here is the windows 7 Ultimate x64 iso if you need it:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:2534ecaab70e970ffb8a678ba5ae39e8fb945a72&dn=X17-59465.iso&tr=udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969&tr=udp://tracker.leechers-paradise.org:6969&tr=udp://tracker.zer0day.to:1337&tr=udp://explodie.org:6969&tr=udp://tracker.opentrackr.org:1337

Also just because this is /sqt/ i assume you used NTFS and MBR Legacy/CSM in rufus options.

Doesn't matter, New chipsets (B350 in your case) don't support USB 2.0 ports natively.

R5 1600 vs. i5-7600k
which is better for gaymen?
will 6-core 12-thread support in vidya gayms be good enough in the future to make up for the 1600's low clock speed?

I have issues direct downloading file sizes larger than 500 MB on Chrome. A lot of times it shows up as finished before download actually completes. Should I get a download manager or something? If so, any recommendations?

Thank you so much anon, seriously. I'll report back when I finish and tell you if it works. Can I use the MSI Smart Tools even if I don't have an MSI mobo?

>Can I use the MSI Smart Tools even if I don't have an MSI mobo?
Yes.
>>
>>60864963
I5-7600k.
More cores wont help you in games, you need singlecore performance per core which is intel main point.
Also when it comes to emulation its way superior thanks to Emulation nature.

Still R5 1600 is a good option.

I was told that optimization for Ryzen's threading was coming with DX12 and all that jazz. Am I being shilled?
>>
>>60858807
latter more than the former
>>
>>60865019
While its true, yes, you are being shilled.
Its not coming, its already here.
>>
>>60865002
But they were rather expensive and were working just fine yesterday. Now there is some crackling when I plug it and no more sound.
>>
>>60865038
Weird, cable might have got damaged.
Check near the 3.5" Jack.
>>
>>60865019
Very shilled. Recent games already benefit from more threads.
>>
>>60864976
I'm still downloading the torrent, but just warning you that if this works im gonna suck your dick. I've been looking for a solution all day.

that anon is probably a water-cooling purist, New AMD ryzen cpu's are stupid cheap (get a 6 core, 12 thread for like $220)and out-clock the latest intel cpu's by a good bit.
---

Long story short, AMD just busted intels ass and ryzen line-up and thread ripper(16 core, 32 thread cpus for desktop/servers) are killing the market for intel, intels got its head up its ass and released a garbage "core I9" product and nobody wants to use it...

Go with AMD for future proofing/latest tech at cheaper prices.
>>
>>60865019
Still for something cheap Ryzen is not bad, Intel is scamming you but their CPUs are good.
Ryzen Lacks a IGPU, intel has a IGPU.
Ryzen is actually worth it unlike Bulldozer where Haswell CPUs ran around it in circles.
More cores is useful if you do something else while gaming, but wont make your games work better.

>>60862460
Lets say you will play games.

I7 are mostly useless for gaming, get a I5 or Ryzen, games rarely use hypertreading to make it worth it.
Watercooling is not worth it, just go for a cheap or good fan (212 EVO or NH-U12S or NH-D15).
>>
>>60865046
Looks like it's the case. Can I solve this without buying a new one?
>>
>>60865054
>>60865031
Alright, so Ryzen has not a ton of potential to improve at this point? I might buy the 1600 anyway because the benchmarks are close enough, it does very well in workstation tasks, and I own a decent bit of AMD stock so I feel some level of loyalty, hahaha.
>>
>>60865098
How did you confirmed it? did you try your phone?
Still, i assume your case has 2 3.5mm connectors try the other.
>>
>>60865104
It will improve with Zen+, a new CPU line, but the ones released now? not at all.
Ryzen is not bad, but if your only focus is gaming and emulation intel is the answer.
Otherwise if you wanna a good CPU for heavy multitasking and gaming, then Ryzen is what you are looking for.
>>
>>60865108
I have the same problem on my phone and the jack seems softer near the connector.

>>
>>60866855
a lot of them can, but it may depend on what specific drivers allow
>>
>>60866158
1. don't
2. do plenty of research
3. fuck with unimportant hardware first
4. keep close watch on temperatures
5. don't reuse settings from other people, even if it's the "same" cpu, due to the nature of overclocking and cpus, no two cpus will have exactly the same tolerances, even if they're the same model
