Cross posting from last thread:
The subdial layout was designed to air force specifications, I believe. The great advantage of the Lemania 5100 subdial arrangement is that the chronograph minute hand and second hand are both on the central register, thus making the chronograph much easier to read than a subdial minutes design.
If you are interested in learning about one of the five greatest automatic chronograph movements of all time you can read this article as a starter:
http://chronomaddox.com/nouvelle_lemania_5100.html
Additionally, Omega's implementation of the co-axial escapement is fundamentally flawed and should have been scrapped. In theory, it is supposed to be a lubricant free escapement that would extend the service intervals of the movement.
In reality, Omega ended up having to use microscopically precise amounts of oil at several places on the escapement for shock absorption, and, most of the design changes made to facilitate the escapement have ended up making the movements much more delicate and difficult to service than a standard Swiss lever escapement like an ETA 2892-A2, while not bringing ANY benefit whatsoever in terms of service intervals, positional variance, isochronism, worn vs. resting amplitude, power-reserve, or especially reliability (which has been massively REDUCED). The only reason Omega went ahead with this abortion of a design is advertising and marketing to try and convince aspirational middle class normies that modern Omega is anything more than 80% of Rolex prices at 20% of Rolex effort.
One of the best Casios ever made. $35.

Any advices on an elegant but not showy, mid-low priced women's watch? Better if with well visible numbers and a white strap.

A little over 6000.

deployant clasp is kind of retarded on a canvas strap anyway. the point of it is to prevent leather from wearing out due to repeated hard bends. canvas can handle that.
>>59962034
true, canvas can take more hard bends, but with deployant making the strap in complete circle i would never need to worry about dropping it again or having it slip off my hand when inconveniently holding only one piece of the straps when i put the watch on

I don't think that is a very fair comparison. Suwa was much more adventurous in their designs if cases and movements, and they created a large number of iconic watch designs, but their movement designs have tended not to age very well.

>The second hand is driven by an electrical motor independent of the master clock. It requires only about 58.5 seconds to circle the face, then the hand pauses briefly at the top of the clock. It starts a new rotation as soon as it receives the next minute impulse from the master clock. This movement is emulated in some of the licensed timepieces made by Mondaine.

no, only the stop2go. the mountain jews are a specific subgroup of semitic-european halfbreed with a base in the caucasus, so it will confuse knowledgeable antisemites if you use that phrase to refer to the indigenous ethnic groups of the swiss watch industry, which is overwhelmingly based in valleys rather than mountainous areas of switzerland.

NOPE
Nicolas George Hayek (19 February 1928, Beirut – 28 June 2010, Biel/Bienne[1]), was a Swiss-Lebanese entrepreneur, co-founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Swatch Group
Born 19 February 1928
Beirut, Lebanon
Hayek was born, the second of three children, to a Lebanese mother and a Lebanese-American father, both from Greek Orthodox Christian Lebanese families with roots in Lebanon's Northern Governorate of El-Koura.
I stopped by a store last week and saw some of the new spring collection pieces. Swatch not typically my style but apparently this is now a swatch thread.

my first ever watch when i was a child was a swatch (on the left).
the new sys51s have a transparent (PLASTIC) mainspring barrel that you can use as a ghetto sort of power reserve indicator.
>>59975651
Sistem 51 is too big for me. They have so many awesome designs I want.
>>59974589
Movement in mine is going bad. Damn muh Swiss luxury ETA movement making it way too expensive to deal with when the watch itself is an "ecomatic" to promote its garbage disposable recycled-brass construction.
>>59975833
hopefully soon they make a new robot that can make the movement slightly smaller.
>>59969587
where do you buy it? Do they have the dark face model?

What is the reference number
Cheap $22 for 4 straps from Alpha Watch arrived. Stiff, shiny, tons of length, some minor cosmetic issues, but seemingly durable.
Now, which one?
Is this OK?

you can do better
>>59977563
I like the look of the straps. The style fits well with the watch

I'm trying to win this blue Leopard. My plan is to service it, restore it and flip it for a profit, but some autist keeps outbidding me. I can't wait for one of you to post the Reddit link for this one too, like the last JDM watch I tried to win.

I have one in gold, the condition that was in(bad case) as offered 500 euros from the watch repair guy.
The guys on watchseek say they go up to 700 or more if the condition is good.

>>59982597
dont listen to him he snatched the watch for nearly nothing.
They hold value pretty well.
So anyway do you guys think buying unserviced JDM (or slavshit) off Ebay, servicing/restoring it and re-selling at a profit is a viable idea? Just as a little money on the side.
>>59982597
I love mine. I bought it about 3 years ago for £200. It keeps time to within 15 sec/day and I have no idea when it was last serviced.
Also, it's not a Seamaster.
>>59982642
Are you serious? Mine came with no papers and is possibly a frankenstien. I know the crown isn't original but the movement is awesome. Don't think it's worth much more than £200 now.
>>59982819
Movement shot.
I can't imagine it's lost any value since I bought it.
