Yes, he will do full assembly if you ask. But, it will cost even more and take quite a while. Just getting the case made and having him do all the surface mount component soldering takes about a month, switch soldering is another two weeks to a month on top of that. And I believe he has a backlog built up.

Uh, go click on the other items, the price changes. The low price is for like a single keycap or some shit.
>>
>>59635339
a lot of sellers on taobao actually put multiple items in one listing, and the selection boxes will be for different things, just look at the images ffs, the 2 dollar one is for the metal label on the back for the case, 12 dollar one is a wristrest for the tada68. get the zhongwen browser extension if you need to understand shit on taobao.
>>
>>59635418
>>59635339
Sorry 2 dollar one is probably not the metal label I was in ausbucks, but just look at the images for the first link. Also in the selections 轴 is the chinese character for switch and it will be preceded by the colour, 茶 = brown, 红 = red, 青 = blue
>>
What do you guys think of the pok3r keyboards? I was originally planning on purchasing a masterkeys pro S (as i dont need the numpad) and stumbled across the pok3r, Its simply beautiful imo and fits my requirements almost perfectly, is it worth the price? The only keyboards ive owned in the past have been $20 and under so this is a big jump for me
>>
>>59635656
pokers are great but you'll be paying a good chunk of the money for the metal case. if you aren't big on that you could find one of the (new) poker iis which are essentially the same but in a plastic case
>>
>>59635769
Are the poker ii's backlit? The RGB isnt important to me, i dont need it, but the backlight is useful for dark enviroments where my keyboard isnt infront of my monitor directly.

Nice to see memeforce trying out new things.

Magicforce is a reputable brand, and it comes with both cherry and gaterons available. The price isn't bad either, but making a 40% that isn't fully programmable is absurd.

Ah yes, Tada68 too. Wonderful and cheap board. There is probably a version with Browns, but maybe there are some more silent Gateron switches, I forget right now.

Some of the layout choices are weird too. I don't think I've ever seen a 1.5u Esc key before, and 2u shifts are bloody hard to find since Minilas and Atomics are just about the only boards that use them.

I don't have a switch testing kit so I am truly not sure - but I went to best buy I tried out some mechs to just get the feel of the switches. I like blue but I can't have that noise and I dont want tolose the feel because of a ring or dampener. What feels tactile and responsive like blue but doesn't have the same loud click. This lead me to beleiving mx clears are my best bet.

The only thing to really compare it to is this.
https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Core-40-Keycaps-Aluminium/dp/B01MS3PWS0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1490805951&sr=8-2&keywords=vortex+core

Magicforce is about half the price, not as programmable (unless that's hidden in the manual, which I didn't bother opening), has keycaps with worse quality but a better profile, is a little bigger.

Vortex is much more expensive, better build quality, more programmable, has better keycaps but a worse profile, and is smaller.

I don't like the layout of either, but the Magicforce is really weird as >>59637331 pointed out. Also, if the point of a 40% is to be small, why does the Magicforce layout essentially add another column and only gain two keys?

The only reason to buy the Magicforce is the price, it is far cheaper than building your own.

The Vortex is not quite as programmable as I'd like, otherwise I'd buy it, even with that profile.

Quick question for the thread - do all keyboards with the same switch type require the same actuation force?

I just replaced an aged MX blue keyboard with another MX blue. Cant tell if placebo, but the new one just empirically feels to me like it requires a bit more force, and my hands feel a bit more fatigued than usual after typing on it today.

What I really want is a completely programmable keyboard (want to turn my Capslock into Esc and make my own media keys). I think the Infinity can do this, but I am not sure if I'm patient enough for a drop.

In this pic, I'm going to etch with a laser-cutter a Hilbert space-filling curve into a piece of wood for a cover on my cheapo Rosewill Cherry MX Blue keyboard.

I wonder if there is an element of break in to these switches that contributes to them feeling smoother to type on over time, or if that's all in someone's head.

For those of you with laptops that use mechanical keyboards, do you just set the keyboard on top of the laptop keyboard area? Or do you just push the laptop back to set the keyboard on the desk? That seems silly as tyhe screen is then further away. Help me understand before I pull the trigger, I only use a laptop and very rarely have it docked so I'm generally using the built in screen

>Apex trigger kit
I had one, it doesn't work with the CORE because of internal differences the S&W Pro trigger has (trigger bar, sear, firing pin block and FPB spring). Back in 2013 Apex asked me to send my CORE in so they could prototype a trigger for it but I declined because reasons. The Pro trigger is """""good enough""""" and works for me.

Ah, I would've assumed with the Pro they would've just stuck in a modified sear + sear spring or something.

I've never shot one before but my Shield with the Apex trigger I can put a 10 rnd group within a 3" circle at 15 yards rapid fire when i get warmed up.

As far as drop in triggers go it's one of the best I know of

<Possibly stupid question that I can't resolve>

Got the CMStorm Quickfire XT a year ago. Amazing keyboard which has developed a problem.
Basically, CTRL + ALT causes the PC to go to sleep in Windows 10. That means I can't use ctrl+alt+del either. For months I thought it was a software problem, something with the keybindings of Windows 10, but I couldn't find anything. Then I hooked up another keyboard on my PC and pressed CTRL + ALT and there was no problem.

Is either CTRL + ALT recognized as something else? I pressed both buttons individually and Windows sees them as CTRL and ALT respectively. Should I try thorough cleaning? Am I stuck with this?

/sqt/ never answers my question so I humbly come to you /mkg/. Thanks.

I'll take that as a sign of God, with these two coincidental posts so close to each other. Thanks.

Still can't get over how good that keyboard is. Only regret I have is not ordering the aluminum case because I assumed it would just be a secondary board.

How are gateron clear compared to my blue for writing? I currently have a poker 2 but I'm considering assembling a gh60
>>
>>59668107
They almost couldn't be more different

I think Blues are like ~55g? and clicky/tactile. Gat. Clears are 35g and linear.

Meaning they are significantly lighter, and you won't feel any bump or click when pressing down.
>>
Anyone ever order from bang good?

I payed for their DHL Express option that should take 5-8 days. It's day 4 and nothing and the package haven't even reached the first hub in Singapore. Just says "Shipment information received".

Ordering to Europe btw.
>>
>>59668182
I know that they are really different, I just wanted to how good is to type on them.
I'm tired of the loudness desu

They are bootleg Dolch from Aliexpress, don't think I can link and the Ali link is fucking long, so here's the whole name

Should I make the switch from a normal Dell keyboard to a small mechanical keyboard or a full sized mechanical keyboard such as a Corsair Strafe?
>>
>>59666988
Nah not my EDC other than the shoes and watch really. Other than the pens I guess you could say they're my hobbies (the watches are cheap Timex, but I still do like reading shit about the big boys like Omega, Fossil, the nicer Seikos etc.
>>
>>59668969
Well, do you want a smaller keyboard? Of yes, get Poker, Anne Pro or something like that, if not, please don't buy Corsair or Razer keyboards, they're overpriced, the quality is sub par, get some CoolerMaster or Ducky.
>>
>>59668929
>>59668954
Thanks for confirming. How is the quality? Better than what your keyboard came with?
>>
>>59669002
Alright thanks man!
>>
>>59668652
they're described around here as
>typing on a cloud

they should be wayyy quieter than blues, but you might have a difficult time not bottoming out, which will produce more noise

Definitely better, at least for me. They're more grainy and overall feel more solid, the stock ones already have a tiny, shallow, low quality sound when bottoming out, these sound more durable. They also don't have the shade of green on the letter keys which they seem to have in the Ali photos. The stock ones are still good though, I think they're equal to the Poker caps, just don't like the font.

>>59669016
Sure, no problem
>>
>>59669122
One final question, is a Nixeus Moda Pro a good mechanical keyboard, it is on massdrop and I'm deciding on picking it up because it is pretty cheap.Thoughts?
>>
>>59669161
No clue, never really heard if it, but it uses their own switches, which is usually a red alarm. Key word usually, sometimes brands have good switches. I think someone with more experience could help you better.
>>
>>59669276
Alright thanks for the help I'll stick with buying a Cooler Master keyboard!
>>
>>59669295
Can't go wrong with that one, good luck!

I know they are stock. But they look exactly like enjoyPBT, even bumps on F J and font.

I don't know lol.
>>
>>59670438
Tada68 uses enjoypbt keycaps, so there shouldn't be one.

What caps should I go for if I hate sound but want a bit of resistance as I'm typing? I write a lot.
>>
>>59670714
do you mean switches? if so you should go with either tactile or linear grays
>>
>>59670662
I'm worried that I should have gotten MX greens, is the difference in resistence super noticable between the two?
>>
I have Topre and Alps boards and love the switches, and hate linears. Is there any Cherry switch I won't find horribly disappointing?
>>
>>59671018
Oh and I also own a Model M and I like those switches, so no other buckling springs either.

Should I get a buckling meme from maasropp?
>>
So I got a unicomp model M about 3 years ago, and now it doesn't register when I press space. Any advice on how to try to clean out the contact? Has anyone else had this issue.

At least I'm in the US so I only had to spend $85 on it, but that's still enough money to make me kind of upset that it's now not working.
>>
>>59672221
Is it the Unicomp one? If you're in the US, I'm pretty sure they're already only $85 on their website.

I loved typing on mine, but I'm also the one who posted >>59672273, which was pretty disappointing to be completely honest.

Yeah I'm just wondering how 'good' buckling is, don't give me any 'its subjective' obviously I want opinions
>>
>>59673096
Well BS are a unique typing experince since the tactile feedback and audible click happen at the exact moment of actuation, no other switch can do that, plus it has a fast reset time. The switches are heavy so if you prefer lighter switches you might not enjoy it. Also it really is loud.
>>
>>59673165
Yeah about the heavy I'll be playing games and maybe holding down a heavy spring would get RSI
>>
>>59673187
The weight isnt that big of a deal since they are lighter then cherry clears. Also you'd get rsi faster if you use a wrist rest then a switch thats only 15g heavier then a rubber dome
>>
>>59673240
Ok nice

Now I just need a place to sell my g810
