Are there any benefits to getting a vasectomy over a full castration? My doctor told me a castration is cheaper and has less chance of complication but I wanted a second opinion before I go get one.
So i have to run bunch of v m 's ,but i painfully finded out that hdd was the bigest bottleneck.
So i have link this
hdd1 -> vm + vm + os
hdd2 -> vm
hdd3 -> vm
i am preparing for raid 6, will it criple me significantly?
reposting it here
My friend, who's into programming, told me about that idea for a website he had recently, and that he will start to work on it once he's finished with his uni work (he's very overwhelmed atm)
I really loved his idea, and as his project involved some complex stuff, I worked on it for the past few weeks because i was bored and wanted to learn new stuff.
The problem is, I got very involved into the project by myself, without telling him, that I completed it, and am very proud of what I've made. it's the first project that I work on from scratch, and I really like it.
My friend hasn't really started working on it yet.
As it's my first real project, I'd like to use it on my portfolio, especially considering that I'll try to intend a school somewhat related to webdev next year.
tl;dr, stole an idea to a very good friend of mine, how to cope with that?
Do PSUs usually come with the 4-pin CPU connector or the 8-pin?
Where can I find remodeling regulations for basements?
Most PSU above 400w come with 4+4 pin conector that can split to normal 4 pin and couple to 8 pin when needed. Lesser psu that are ~300w for office machines and such come only with 4 pin.
doesn't seem like it based on a google search. i'm thinking of one that lets you snap windows to predefined locations (top right, left, maximized, etc) the same way default windows does but with manually set snap regions.
i'm pretty sure that's how it worked at least, that's how it was described to me before i forgot the name.
>G400s is double-clicking again (fourth time since I bought it in '13)
>Open it up to reset the tension spring
>Screwdriver slips off the black mechanism housing, runs into the mouse wheel
>Pierce the wheel, the spring and the thin metal click bar thing warp and go flying
>Roll my chair back real quick in a moment of panic, hear a crack
>The black housing fell under my wheel and I shattered it
Well, I suck. Time to replace my mouse.
Since the G400s has been discontinued, how is the 402/502? Anyone own one of those Zowie mice?
i got the zowie fk2 2 months ago and i love it. i've been playing tribes a lot lately and it has no tracking issues while being a good weight and fit for my grip. my mistake was getting the smaller fk variant though because i have fat hands and my pinkie doesn't rest anywhere comfortably.
i'm not sure if i could justify the $60 price for poorfags in the same way i could for a $100 mech keyboard, but you already had a $60 mouse so that's not a problem for you.
Are there any good mid-spec Lagdroid phones with a physical keyboard? I've been using a Moto G since 2012 or 2013 but now the usb post broke down and I still hate soft keyboards passionately. Spec-wise I would be happy with something similar, I doubt there are any high-end phones with real keyboards anyway.
I tried /g/, I really tried, but my firefox keeps saying:HTTP "Content-Type" of "audio/mpeg" is not supported. Load of media resource <....>.
- latest ff stable
- gstreamer and gstreamer-plugins
- lame, ffmpeg etc...
Any ideas why html5 audio tags with mp3 still won't work for me?
Will the R7 370 run wow on ultra at over 60 fps during raids?
How are the sides? One thing that always bothered my with the 400s is that the sides kind of flare out and make a lateral ridge at the top. I hold my mouse in a fingertip grip and the way my ring finger rests caused it to rub uncomfortably.
Tried to show what I mean with comparison between my 400s and my fallback mouse.
>4chan won't accept my .bmp
>Or my .tiff
Can I power a BananaPi with a computer PSU? I looked on google, but no dice. I want to hook it up so I can turn my PC on over WiFi by splitting the connector from my mobo to go 1) to the front panel power button and 2) to the GPIO of my BaPi.
chargers provide nothing but the positive and negative power leads, so there's no recognition to occur. there's either power or not. if you have a multimeter you can measure the voltage across the outside and inside of the barrel connector to at least see if your power brick works at all, but you probably don't have one.
most likely it's your laptop though because those charger bricks are pretty simple circuits and are reliable in normal usage even when they're made cheap as shit so it's not likely to be the problem.
there's no side overhang at all.
best post itt
if yor friend is a valuable asset to work with you might want to include him in your project, other than that fuck him and try to charge him $100 for the valuable lesson he just learned.
>chargers provide nothing but the positive and negative power leads, so there's no recognition to occur.
not really m8. They use some kind of one wire protocol to talk using ID PIN. Don't even get me started on apple products.
Laptop works ok, apart from not being charged
Why the fuck does a library have such a high barrier to entry for office work? What even is Library Technology
"EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: You must meet ONE of the following options:
1. Successful completion of a Community College Certificate in Library Technology.
2. Associate's Degree or equivalent education (i.e., minimum completed units = 60 semester/90 quarter units).
3. Two years of full-time paraprofessional library experience, which MUST include assisting patrons in locating information, books, and articles by using reference materials, indexes, and electronic resources; and answering questions regarding the use and services of the library."
can you provide an example of that? i've never seen a charger plug be anything but a standard barrel. i don't see what there is to communicate anyway aside from maybe some initialization check to make sure johnny retard didn't plug a 16v supply for an 9v charging circuit.
Pic is Dell one. Outside of plug is ground, inside is +whatever the voltage and that one pin in the center is the id pin of communication.
Or MagSafe, even better example.
One thing that bothers me with MX5 is the lack of card slot.
>What do you need out of it?
Listening to music, making occasional photos, playing PSX games, watching videos. Would like to be able to install custom OS images.
I'm looking for an upgrade to my Asus T100. Can someone recommend me the best lightweight, under 13" hybrid Laptop/Tablet for around £500? Really I just want something with a touchscreen.
I'm leaning towards the Lenovo Yoga 700 because it's fanless and shit and won't warm up my lap whilst I'm using it but just wondering if the performance might be a bit shit as a result. I could live with it if it's not too bad, it uses a Core M3-6y30 processor. Not really a fan of the Surface and after something that can handle the occasional more intensive task
I need a newer operating system for school and work. W7 just doesn't cut it anymore, sadly.
I tried W10 for the past 2 days and it's quite unstable for the shit I use it for. It wouldn't even pin things to the start menu and it's annoying to try to disable all the telemetry stuff.
I never used 8.1 so I'm looking for some opinions on it. Could I have a more stable and reliable experience if I stick with 8.1 + some customizations like classic shell?
What stuff would you guys recommend?
Basically, for now, is 8.1 better than W10?
Don't know of the differences between a castration and a vasectomy, but I read that a castration results in your body becoming weaker and shit, and your bones being more susceptible to breaking.
I really dislike the p8 since its battery life is abysmal, but it's not bad for what you want to do. Speakers are shit too. What about the ZTE Axon? I've heard it runs hot though.
8.1 is pretty shit, and it won't allow you to alt-tab at times out of unresponsive programs, and it calls indexing every time you make a search and tries to probe for apps too before returning results. I'm not sure about W10, I'm sure it's just as bad but now it can spy on you whilst dwm.exe ignores resizing events. Rather use Ubuntu and take Canonical up the ass than Microsoft, tbqh familie.
You're supposed to make one, is it mounted? You need a /boot/efi partition formatted with mkfs.vfat -F32 /dev/sd**, and set it to ESP/boot partition with flags in gdisk/parted. Then, you take a bootloader image (i.e. GRUB2, rEFInd, ELILO) and stick it in a folder named EFI. Then copy your kernel image and initramfs into the partition.
I'd love to use it for work, and I already use Debian on my tower. But both school and work pretty much require me to use either 10 or 8.
Is there any way of disabling that app search call for indexing?
Also, are there any guides for fixing up 8 and removing telemetry?
I'd rather try to stick with 8 as much as I can and not have to install 10 a third fucking time
I've been given a nearly impossible task.
My mother in law wants a new laptop, except it can't be a big laptop- needs to be larger than 10 inches, smaller than 14- ideally, she wants a twelve. Next, it has to be light- anything that weighs over 2kg is too heavy apparently.
All she'd use it for is typing, emails, browsing the internet and watching the tele online. My first thought was a tablet, but she's determined to have a keyboard and windows for word etc, which I guess with a tablet is still doable but I'm not sure what to look for.
However, she only has a budget of around £200, in which case I'm now looking for second hand. Any ideas? She's looking at a Lenovo Yoga - but the model shes looking at only has 2g and didn't look like it could even handle web browsing on the advert (took 4 seconds just to tab).
Wait, fuck that shit, Thinkpad
I just want to draw on a large ips screen with pen pressure, and after research I found two.
The Yiynova 22u v3 and the Cintiq 13 hd.
I really want the Yiynova because it has a larger screen. Just wanted to know before I made my investment.
Yeah, and at the same time I don't want everything, just the few things I require. Not a complete Cintiq experience but something that will let me draw, which is why I narrowed it down to the two.
Hi there, I'm a Windows guy. How can Linux programs be uninstalled while being run? Can someone explain or at least give me a keyword to do my research?
Hm? I thought you wanted one under $400? P8 is a little above 400 too.
P8 isn't bad, but perhaps the Ascend Mate 7 is better, I actually think it's cheaper and has a bigger battery, expandable storage, etc. Only real disadvantage is the front facing camera is shittier.
Have you already tried installing it via pacman? I think GRUB2 has os-probe and pacman pretty much sets everything up for you, you just need to run grub-install in the directory.
I believe you'll need a tool like imgburn.
I'm not sure it's even possible to remove search suggestions. Updates you'll need to remove to stop the NSA: https://gist.github.com/xvitaly/eafa75ed2cb79b3bd4e9
X220 on ebay is under 200 US, it is refurbed ofc.
Not got any specifics really in mind, was just wondering what would be suitable and if 4GB would be a deal breaker or work fine. I'm not really a heavy user, Photoshop/Chrome and maybe the occasional indie game like To The Moon is about all I'll probably do. And some Java
I'd like to have a third monitor mounted on the wall in ether of the two rectangles. Anyone can recommend me a monitor + wallmount setup that would work well with this? This monitor would be mostly for displaying Internet sites, pdf or running streams, videos (not gaming)
Program calls are loaded into memory for the most part, obviously, disk transfers are pretty expensive on computers whereas RAM is far faster. However, removing assets a program takes off of a disk or a routine that hasn't yet been called into memory can fail.
I've been using 4gb for a while fine. I can GIMP, browse and other stuff without worry. The CPU is pretty good. Linux speeds shit the fuck up but too much at one go and especially chrome/maybe photoshop don't agree witj 4gb IMO
+it'll be fine for your minecraft ;^)
Does anyone actually used the last version of windows and the last version of OSx enought time to know why one is better than the other or just different?
pls no mac users only or windows users only
I meant, how is that possible. In Windows if you try to delete an executable that is being run, it yells at you.
I see, thanks.
I'm comparing prices in yewrope (the shitty eastern part), so maybe that's the source of confusion.
Mate 7 looks interesting, it has lower CPU specs but more battery, but it's 6 inch. But I'll consider it, thanks!
np, i thought it was a little weird how the zte axon could be higher priced than the p8, but jewroop :(. huawei has pretty good band support (esp for LTE), but only select models have them so you need to be rather careful about buying the right model. 1+1 2 is okay, though I've heard some poor things about them, are they around your price range there too?
First check in parted/gdisk that you have a gpt labelled drive with one of the partitions running FAT32. In gdisk you can select esp fs+flag through a hex code but in parted you can simply "set * esp on" and "set * boot on", targeting your partition ofc.
I have a computer with 2 drives installed. One has windows 10 which is the main drive, and the other has xp installed. (I simply installed it for storage)
I can access files on the xp drive that are located at D:/folder_name/files, but not files located at D:/documents and settings/user_name_/folder_name_files.
I've tried transferring ownership of the second drive but I still can't access the data I need.
Any suggestions on solving this issue?
How critical is PCIe 3.0 vs 2.0 is GPU performance?
I'm searching AMD boards on Newegg and a 3.0 search tag isn't available. Is it not that relevant, or do AMD boards not really support it?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a router that is tomato firmware capable with powerful hardware?
I'm trying to run openvpn on my current netgear wnr3500lv2 but unfortunately it slowed my speed a lot
In another terminal, you need to make sure you're booted into a UEFI disk, e.g., a UEFI capable 64-bit iso- "modprobe efivars" to make sure you're able to access efi variables through sysfs. Then chroot in and reinstall and reconfigure grub.
If i want certain program to open faster what would be better?
Have OS on ssd and the program in the HDD or OS in HDD and program in SDD?
Note, im only talking about one program, not the whole computer.
did anyone here create a working bootable usb stick with openSUSE? I downloaded the iso (4.7gb) and I tried to get a bootable usb stick via unetbootin which didn't work.
via dd I was able to create one but after I hit installation in the menue after booting into the stick I get a screen that says
>please make sure your installation medium is available
What the fuck am I doing wrong here? I'm genuinely confused.
What can I do to improve my Java programming?
Is reading the oracle java tutorial in full, sufficient to becoming experienced with the language, or is there something else that I should be reading or looking at instead?
why does my Ethernet not work after hibernation in win 10? and it seems it something that happens only since the next update. any ideas?
How comes linux can mount and edit img files natively while windows is just so shit? I found a program that can mount img files on windows but, as soon as the file is mounted windows wants to FORMAT it what the hell. Is there no way at all? IsoBuster lets me open and see the content but there's no feature to edit any files inside an img archive. Rescue me /g/...
I'm using a laptop with these spesifics. Can i upgrade my processor? Is my processor bad compared to other components?
Are you booted into a UEFI medium? e.g. during boot menu selection it states UEFI: PNY 8.0GB ... Some LiveCDs do not have UEFI modules+firmware.
Try "mount -t efivarfs efivarfs /sys/firmware/efi/efivars" outside of chroot.
Yes I tried through command line because when I click the file it doesn't show the usual option, it says the file is unknown or corrupt image, probably because wincdemu doesn't support raw img/dd files.
you probably mount something with a filesystem that is not supported by windows.
it can only read FAT, NTFS, exFAT, Live File System and ReFS.
that's why it suggests to format it because it's unreadable.
any iso file should be natively mountable by windows 8 or newer.
you could try 7z.
Can't even find OnePlus One 2, maybe because it's relatively new. Guess I have to look in other countries. But again, no card slot. Also, isn't Snapdragon 810 considered bad because of heat?
this depends way too much on the program.
if the program has a lot of shared libraries/resources that it loads from the HDD then it would probably be faster to put it on the SSD.
if it uses only native libraries then it would be probably better to have the OS on the SSD instead.
I'd rather have a snappy OS though than 1 second off a load time of something I launch once.
I'm using a laptop and my arrow keys are dead
I want to map my numpad 5 key to the down arrow key but only when numlock is off
I foundxmodmap -e "keycode 84 = KP_Down"
but that makes 5 give KP_Down even when numlock is off
Is there a better way to solve this than a script that monitors the numlock state 24/7?
Should I just give up using the numpad for numbers and use the other numbers?
it's not an iso but img, also called disk dump (dd), if isobuster can open it I guess there must be some way to edit it too, maybe using mingw or cygwin?
Very odd. Install efibootmgr and see if you can list entries. This is assuming you are actually booted into UEFI mode for both BIOS and your medium. BIOS explicitly states that you are booting into a UEFI medium and UEFI is enabled in BIOS?
It's EXT4 format according to IsoBuster, I wish this program allowed editing too not just reading.
I got this computer with some stuff in it for free and I want to know what I'm missing so I can fully build it. I have a shitty graphics card also. Thanks
Also i think something's wrong with my databases.
>database file for yadayada does nto exist
>Target not found.
UEFI is enabled and it's the first thing in the boot order. next is the cd with arch.
try one of these then http://superuser.com/a/677479
though you're probably better off running a VM, copying the files you want and putting them somewhere that is read/writeable by both windows and linux.
Loads, you'd be an idiot if you'd castrate yourself. And either you didn't listen or your doctor is an idiot too.
With a vasectomy they cut the tubes that bring sperm to your ejaculate. So you'll be literally shooting planks as no more sperm cells will be present. Other than the desired sterilization it has very little effect.
Removing the balls has major consequences, among others: hard to get an erection, no more orgasms, lesser testosterone will probably alter your body (muscle, breasts) and many more.
That is not true in the slightest. With a vasectomy your balls are still functional, but they cut the tube that carries sperm cells to your penis. All other functions of the balls remain intact.
Firefox is being a bitch and wont load any profiles, nor create a new profile. Its always "inaccessible or missing".
How do i fix this shit.
I've deleted .mozilla and when firefox regenerates it, but there is no profile in it, it wont make a default profile
Im downgraded tried different variations, they all report the same thing.
No, your processor is perfectly fine for your hardware. Yes, you can upgrade it.
Is that the output from pacman? Sync pacman. I've never had arch before in my life so I don't know how this goes, but you may need to set up your config files so that your target host can be found, if I'm understanding this message from pacman correctly.
Are you booted in or chrooted? This first thing in boot order is the cd with uefi or another drive with uefi?
I see, thanks for the explanation.
I just bought a sandisk ultra ll 120GB for $25 so i wasn't sure what put on it.
I guess i will reinstall windows on it an install chrome and GIMP on it only since that is what i use more than 10 times a day and take a good amount of time to load.
Im just worried that random stuff that windows creates will fill it.
boot order is the... should i call it native?
The native uefi > cd with arch > other stuff
the reason why i'm trying to install arch is because i found a good guide on how to do gpu passthrough and play games on a vm. Arch is really funky, you wouldn't be able to help with this goal of mine on debian? that would essentially bypass the whole pain of installing arch.
You should be able to upgrade to any processor using the same socket. Some chipset features, however, may not work after the upgrade. I wouldn't really recommend upgrading as the processors are insanely expensive, the i7 3740QM is 100 bucks more expensive than the desktop counterpart for less than half the performance. i5 3350u is about 240.
Yeah, VGA passthrough works so as long as you have QEMU and a VGA card, which only requires KVM. Native UEFI suggests that you may have properly installed GRUB but did not configure it correctly (works on Gentoo too). Try using a LiveUSB instead (it natively can be recognized as UEFI and will modprobe efivars automatically). This goes for both Debian and Arch.
I tried but it failed to boot. An issue related to the tools you use to create the bootable flash drive. Something about versions of linux.
Anyways now help me set up debian for this :3
my laptop gives me the error "Thi is not a bootable disk. Please insert a bootable floppy and press any key to try again," when trying to boot into my windows. I have a USB with linux mint that I'm able to boot into, but my HDD won't boot now. Is there any way I can access the windows repair tools without having to boot into the HDD itself?
Have you tried unetbootin or pendrivelinux? Also the point I was trying to get across is that VGA passthrough will also work in Ubuntu. Simply need to enable KVM. Try and get a bootable system up first.
So I'm creating this program for fun that generates random images using a base64 encoded string. Only problem is I can't get the image to be seen as valid once I generate the representation of the pixels as a string. Is there some kind of file header or something that goes into it that I'm missing?
I installed and registered ExtFS, it's running in background like a driver but when I mounted the file again, using OSFMount, windows asked again to format it, looks like this Paragon ExtFS doesn't work at all.
I don't know if this belongs here.
I have a friend with the typical realtek sound driver who whenever trying to use skype the sound from his computer (games, etc) is all that's really audible, and his voice can barely be heard. He's tried a million things and nothings worked.
He uses a headset microphone (2 aux), and he's running windows 10 aswell.
Well there isn't a format yet because I've just create a representation of the pixels (each being 8 characters of hex). Ideally I'd like to put it out at a png format but I'm not sure how to form the header or how it needs to be structured outside of the pixel layout.
holy shit it works, they patched it!
I need to add files in an USB live disc, apparently I managed to do it now with that other program, I'll try to boot and see if the file is working correctly.
Well he's messed with the mixer and the rest and lowering/increasing doesn't allow us to really hear him any better, and his computer sounds and background take priority.
Also what do you mean by change the mic to have priority?
This is an obvious case in which you would use a library unless you had actually set out with intention of reimplementing PNG itself and the accompanying compression algorithms, which seems to be slightly outside the apparent scope of your program.
Does anyone know of a way to 'fix' a shitty Chinese PSP battery? I bought one from eBay and it just doesn't work. I can only use the PSP when it's plugged into the AC adapter. I doubt there's anything I can do other than "buy a battery that isn't shit", but any ideas would be appreciated.
I have just installed Arch Linux on a HP ProBook 4710s . I noticed that the fans constantly run at full speed, even when only using the tty. When running lm_sensors I get the following results:
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +43.0 C (crit = +108.0 C)
temp2: +43.0 C (crit = +105.0 C)
temp3: +31.0 C (crit = +108.0 C)
temp4: +33.0 C (crit = +105.0 C)
temp5: +21.9 C (crit = +108.0 C)
temp6: +90.0 C (crit = +110.0 C)
Adapter: ISA adapter

Core 1: +25.0 C (high = +105.0 C, crit = +105.0 C)
Obviously there is something wrong with temp6. The only thing I could find on the internet is a German who had the exact same problem.
If anyone can speak German or has any idea whats going on I would be very greatful
Someone recently told me beef burgers usually don't have a crunchy exterior like veggie burgers do. Is this true?
>I'll try to boot and see if the file is working correctly
Confirmed working flawlessly. Ext2Fsd can read AND write EXT4 partitions correctly on Windows 7 and OSFMount can mount them.
Does anyone here have experience with Xiaomi brand phones? My Galaxy S4 is on suicide watch and I can get this one really cheap, but is it any good?
Amazon is funky shit. They messed up while shipping, instantly gave me a refund when i only wanted to know where the package was, it even said that i had recieved the package in a place over 800 km away from where i actually live. Which later lead to them altering the tracking data. And then the package arrived.
using Fedora 23 on my lappy
downloaded qbittorrent, opened it and it shows a very small and unreadable window, it's badly scaled.
my resolution is 3200x1800, this also happens with steam.
My computer turns on and the motherboard splash screen comes up, but doesn't advance beyond that. Trying to enter the BIOS config doesn't work. The computer doesn't emit any beeps upon starting up. Any ideas?
local noob here with a screenfetch question, how come it shows very few stats compared to the others ive seen ? like it smissing what theme i have installed GPU, FONT etc.
I'm about to start my bachelor's for information technology/server management but i've always thought it might be better to go with compsci (but intimidated by the math aspect of it -- i've never been bad at math, but never really good at it either)
could i get a quick rundown (not for lack of interest but i dont expect anyone to care enough to get too into detail) on where IT will get me versus compsci? and/or can anyone who HAS a BS in CompSci share their experience with it?
I'm part of a private tracker, trying to get good boy points from seeding ad infinitum. I have a small computer perfect for that.
I have already downloaded a few torrents on my laptop. I've downloaded the files through transmission (gtk) and my "seedbox" is running transmission with the web interface.
Is it possible to transfer the torrents over so I can seed without redownloading first? Could I just drop the files in transmission's target directory, add the torrents, and expect transmission to detect them?
Advice is appreciated in advance.
Why is there a vertical red line on >flash videos?
I'm currently using Chromium x64 .2598 on windows 10, PepperFlash 184.108.40.2066.
The bug also happens on regular Chrome.
I replaced my graphics card and now my monitor isn't getting any signal. My old graphics card always used dvi. This new one uses a different kind of dvi so I am using HDMI and it isn't working. Swapping cards and using dvi works. Is my new card trash?
Would this be a good first build and allow me to improve on it in the future?
I can't tell you from experience, but I've owned Xiaomi products in the past (Mi4c, Mi Note Premium). Hardware wise, they're pretty competitve, including their MediaTek offerings (like the Redmi series). Their MTK phones, though I think, are better done by companies like Umi/Lenovo/LeTv/Meizu/Bluboo, they come cheaper and typically with better screens and durability; Umi has great low end MTK phones, LeTv/Bluboo have great higher end MTK phones, and Lenovo screens are great. Xiaomi Snapdragon offerings are actually exceptionally good, like the ones I've owned, and I've never had them run hot despite what others say about 810.
Software-wise MIUI is alright, some phones have international versions, some do not. Unlike UMI phones they don't come pre-rooted but it's easy to do, as is installing Jewgle Play or F-Droid. The problem is rather than mounting the filesystem directly, there's a security abstraction and integrated fs suite known as Xiaomi Suite which is typically only available in Chinese (you'll need to download a downstream English one if you need it otherwise), which mediates file transfer, regardless of whether you're in MTP or PTP mode. ADB does work though.
So I need a cheap laptop for university.
I'm going CIS so anything that can handle Ubuntu should be fine
could be worse. but
>board that doesn't support full bandwidth cf/sli
>poopy video card
i'd suggest just buying a refurbed card. 7950 sells for about 100-120 nowadays, i got 2 sapphire 7950 boost for 175. board and cpu is acceptable considering the price but honestly, it doesn't even matter what you buy right now as it is either too expensive or about to be phased out for "next gen hardware". 1.5/10 you tried.
Unfortunately no store sells Thinkpads here in Russia, and I really don't want to use ebay for something that expensive.
What would you guys recommend? Someone is giving me the 750 Ti and the RAM for free so that is why it is part of the partpicker. The main thing I am concerned about is the board and cpu
might as well use your phone senpai, chinkpads are only about $200 bucks online. i would suggest getting a lenovo g585 or a x86 chomebook.
if you choose intel you'll be able to upgrade right off the bat, as kaby lake uses the same socket as skylake. sacrifice may be some nsa jewery and they force you to upgrade to win10, but at least you'll enjoy decent performance for now. if you choose an amd build right now you're stuck as zen uses its own socket (integrated with its apu line as well, just like intel). amd chipsets are also god awful, you don't get full width in CF unless you have a 990FX board (which costs double), and the northbridge gets steaming hot routing pcie data. as a shill for amd, i'd honestly wait for zen to see what amd has to offer, but considering a build right now, i'd run i3 6100 with a decent z170 chipset about about 110. it's probably about 40-50 more expensive, however. also, as a dual core, its only 50% slower than the 8350 in multithreaded applications but somewhat cheaper.
I have a dumb question (pic related)
I'm using one of these bad boys
With my newly built PC. IThe adapter is about two and a half years old now. Whenever I connect to the internet with it and just browse 4chan or whatever it seems to be fine and stable, but as soon as I open qbittorrent, my connection spikes and fucks around, as seen in the pic. It gets so bad that the internet just disconnects then tries to connect again, successfully but drops again.
Last night my computer decided that it no longer recognised the USB and the whole computer just blue screened then wouldnt boot up again until I unplugged it.
My writing might be biased here but is it the fault of the adapter, or is it most likely a setting on qbittorrent? Ive been looking into it and the internet seems to think it's changing global max number of connections in the torrent client, or my ISP is throttling it - but on my previous laptop everything was fine, and that was only like a week ago now, same adapter. So I'm fucking confused.
Any ideas /g/?
could anyone link me a small usb hub? it has to be male micro to female (full size a). doesn't have to be powered or anything fancy, two ports is enough (more obviously aswell). it just can't be bulky/big
