Does mpv work on Windows XP? What version should I download?
>>59350796
i recall lowest supported is vista...
>>59350878
I read support dropped after 0.14 but maybe there's a fork or disabling features to get newer versions up running.

This is /g/, no real discussion happens here
You're better off asking in the /agdg/ on /vg/

Thanks

so how long till i can use VS2010 with linux just as well as i can with windows?
Until they get to the "Extinguish" part of the plan.
>>59350586
whats that?
also will they be able to port all C++ functionality to linux? i would think some of it is specific to windows.

I'm trying to remember the name of a program that allows you to install a Windows 7 ISO onto another parition from your exiting OS. Lets you select the image on the ISO as well, and you can verify/check the install afterwards. It was called something...gui but I can't remember the name and google searches don't help at all. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?
Nevermind, found it here: https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit-tools/gimagex/
You can do all that with bare wim/esd files via imagex (vista, 7) or with dism (windows 8+), no reason to use anything external for deploying, really.
How bad did I just goof'ed /g/ ?

YOU CAN'T PLAY SHOOTAN GAMES ON THAT

Why don't they teach about compilers and makefiles right off the bat?
I took a class in C, but have no fucking clue about compiling or makefiles. I want to get into building simple embedded systems. Where do I start? avr-gcc documentation might as well be in braille.
>>59350106
Makefiles are easy to figure out lol.
Just google all your issues one by one. Should be hard because you know C, right?
>>59350106
>Why don't they teach about compilers and makefiles right off the bat?
Because there are no real standards and everything is batshit insane legacy garbage stacked at each other. Basically how the web werks.
Do any of you guys know a decent video editing app for mobile devices?

So, are the leaks legit? did CIA really manage to bug everything?
how do you know if you're bugged? (is pic related even legit?)
most important question, how do you unbug yourself?
>>59349267
link?
>>59349267
Unplug yourself from the internet and remove your wireless card, Bluetooth card, and RF cards.

How do I start contributing to open source? I know C pretty well along with a few other languages and can pick of a language on the way if need be.
It seems I can never find an entry point for that first patch to contribute. Are there any projects out there waiting for a new feature to be implemented?

I know you're meming, but you'd think that wouldn't even be hard
Genetic algoritmhs are fun, why don't people use them for EVERYTHING? Seems like a good way to bruteforce solutions for general problems using little code

>genetic algorithms
thats just a buzzword my dude. They are used basically everywhere connected to anything hiding behind these sorts of labels like machine learning, neural net, deep learning etc.
the problem is that you still need a lot of computing power for those type of things or consumer CPUs//GPUs are just not powerful enough yet to finish the required tasks. You can outsurce the computing etc but its still not really 'consumer' friendly i guess.
tl;dr: these algorithms are used every (basically in every google product nowadays) but doing every step of the way at home is not feasible (yet)
>>59349152
Do you happen to know good material to learn about them? I'm very interested, machine learning stuff doesn't seem to be very related to genetic algorithms
>>59349230
>machine learning stuff doesn't seem to be very related to genetic algorithms
what do you mean by that exactly?! it is exactly the same thing.

Google has ML stuff too. Look into TensorFlow and the other popular libraries of python and do your first "hello world" type of shit.

kek. fail.
I just took an old power supply (bought end of 2005) out of the closet and saw this. At first I thought the white stuff on the coil was some leakage, but then I turned the fan blade and discovered more. I assume those are mushrooms growing there?
Should I just scrape off that stuff, dispose of the PSU or use it as if nothing was wrong? Or something else. How high is the chance these are a health risk?
Can take more pictures if needed.

Clean with isopropyl and use it.
