My advice is to lift. You'll lose weight faster, you'll still put on some lean muscle mass during your cut and you'll still see gainz on a starting program. I've lifted for the duration of my cut and my arms, shoulders and chest look pretty great. Granted I have loose skin on my midsection but that last little bit will go as I continue. You don't want to go from fat to skinny fat and then have the new endeavor of trying to put on lean muscle mass because
A) You can only, MAYBE gain 2-3 lbs of lean muscle mass a month
B) That in mind, people that just cut an obscene amount of weight can get discouraged with the slow progress
C) You'll fill in some of that loose skin that some of us will undoubtedly deal with as you go and feel good about yourself as you're doing it.

I remember when I first started getting definition. A vein in my hand that went from the pointer, past the thumb and up my forearm started popping more. That one little vein filled me with such pride that it actually helped me continue and not catch the fuck-around-itis. Its just a genuinely good feel.

Do what you feel is best but you need to temper willpower first and foremost. Find whatever structure works for you but having a hard limit that you abide by may do more than you think. I didn't adopt IF or anything until way later, I just ate keto until I hit 1800 kcal and then boom. That was it for the day. Worked for me to at least cultivate that discipline. Remember that making it is like.. 80% diet, 15% willpower and 5% exercise.

Don't worry about building muscle while you're trying to lose fat. You can do both under some limited circumstances, but it's really not worth it.

If you're just starting out training, you don't. Just learn the movement pathways, adapt your CNS to them, learn form, and reap the benefits later.

If you've been making linear progress for a while now and have just suddenly decided to lose weight, don't worry about it. You won't lose much strength, just work out at 80% of your normal working weights and maintain that volume for the duration.

I just got back from the store!
There was limited vegetable choices which was disappointing, but I took what I could and substituted a couple things.

Here's what I got :

chicken breasts (approx.500g)
shrimp (approx.200g)
a cut of salmon (approx.400g)
beef rumsteak (approx. 200g)

parisian white mushrooms (500g)
red onions (approx.300g)
(there were no hot peppers or asparagus, much disappoint as I wanted to make grilled ones)

>Sauces (for marinading the chicken and seasoning steaks)
Tabasco type hot pepper sauce (200ml - only 6 cal per 100ml)
Brazilian hot and sweet barbecue sauce (500ml - a bit caloric but used sparingly by lightly lathering on steak during grilling is fine)
-Yakitori sauce (about 800ml - I'll use it to marinade the chicken to make skewers with grilled veggies (onions, bell peppers, mushrooms)

0% fat Cottage cheese (1kg)
ripe black cherries (800g)
Peanut Butter (300g)
(I'll mix a bit of all three to make light high protein desserts. To be honest I think the cherry+peanut butter flavor hit might be bomb)

With the shrimp I am going to make a salad for entrée, much like the one you linked but I'll tweak it with what veggies I have/take out those I don't like. I have a lot of leafy greens/lettuce laying around.

With the salmon cut, I was thinking of baking one half in the oven (or steaming if I can figure out a way to do it in the oven) and siding it with rice/salad. The other half I want to make homemade avocado/raw salmon spring rolls with lettuce and teriyaki sauce.

The rumsteaks I'm still not sure what I'll do with. I really wanted a red meat too. I'd accept any ideas really either about the seasoning and also what sides to do with it. I don't like rice with meat, as a disclaimer. Maybe creamy mushroom pasta, as I have mushrooms? I'd need to figure out how to make a low calorie cream (perhaps the cottage cheese?)...Anyhow it'll be heavy with the pasta.

For 1.1kg of lean high protein meat, 1.3kg of protein dairy and butter, 1.6 kg of (rare summer) fruits/veggies, 1.5l of various sauces, and a total of 5.5kg of food, it's not bad (for my country's standards).

Also I should add as disclaimer that I do OMAD, so most of the meats I will freeze and dethaw when needed. I eat maybe a 50g portion of soup/salad, 150g portion of meat, 100g portion of vegetables, 50/100g portion of dairy/fruit and 20ml portion of sauces/oils for seasoning.

That haul was much needed as I had been getting minimal protein lately, as expected with such a restriction.
I am going to do some mfp macro calculations and try to make the perfect meals for the next couple of days, though!

So you must be in Britain. I think anon here lives in eastern europe, so I'm not sure "bitching" will work. Here in France, bitching is like a second nature to poor people because that's how they actually get things. But they also do get a lot of things for free, such as healthcare and such. I've gotten shit loads of blood work, radio imagery, examinations, medications, dental care for "free". Of course we pay taxes, but at least we get to profit from the services it gives us. IDK what my real TDEE and deficit. I based the last year on a copy pasta of a guy who got a job in a warehouse and ate only 1800 cals.

I feel like shit at work. I also feel like fat shit if i do nothing all day at home.

But i went to IIFYM and the weight loss plan seems cookie cutter as they keep recommending 1100 cals no matter how many times i change stats.

Do you eat enough protein? I'd suggest to start tracking your macros. For quick needed energy, fuel up on carbs right before work, avoid them after work, focus on protein for dinner for recuperation.

If you can't afford to buy lean proteins, try Protein Powder (Whey or Pea, just avoid soy).
Myprotein's Impact Whey powder for exemple retails at 13.19 euros right now for 1kg, and only gets cheaper the more you buy in bulk.
One dose is 25g, it is equivalent for a 1kg bag to 40 servings. Much cheaper than the equivalent in meats, dairy or nuts. Myprotein delivers in Spain, bro.

One way you can go about it to fix the exhaustion/painful tiredness symptom (not the actual cause of it) with BCAAS (try myprotein's BCAAs for 15 euros per 250g but you only need 5g max per daily dose, so that's 50 days worth of it.)
BCAAs start to have an effect about 2 weeks in, they are used to treat DOMS primarily, which is why they are relevant in cases of physical soreness here.

How important is it though, to hit that protein macro?
for average, I can barely fit 71grams of protein out of the daily recommended 89grams (that is about 80% of it) in my OMAD (962 calories).

Update : After doing some math, I hit 89g at the 1132 calorie mark. I think I can do better calorie wise, if I take away some "commodity" type of food like a small portion of fruit, and peanut butter for dessert, and safely be at the 1000 calorie mark. I collected a lot of data, and built this in Tableau. I'm a Tableau developer professionally. This was about 10 minutes of work, my eventual plan is do some regression modeling and build an ANOVA table.
