Plateau'd at 230 for about 6 months (down from 275). Upped my cardio from 30 min 3xweek to 45-60 6xweek (16-18mph, 10-15 miles per session on the stationary). Been at that for about 1 month now, still not budging from 230. No calorie increase in roughly a year, been doing low carb/cholesterol/sodium for heart, lots of protein though.

try a 4-6 hour feed window for IF, and only eat homecooked meals. you're likely not accounting for added ingredients, such as oils, butters, condiments, etc, that are used in a lot of recipes. additionally, you could be tracking things incorrectly. i use MFP, and sometimes you have to try to find the best fit so there is gonna be some guess work, but if things aren't working you gotta change something around.
also, whats your deficit like? if you're only at -300 calories, the slow rate of loss could make totally normal fluctuations in water weight overshadow fat loss. plus, small deficits are easier to fuck up

That's good. Next steps are being consistent in your calories. Don't set too low a goal because you will binge. I'm at 1800 calories a day and I started at 256lbs. Now I'm 237lbs.

Exercise, do not count it in your calories. Just do it. I try to lift three days a week and do cardio the other days. I'm not consistent here, but it doesn't matter because the calorie loss and fat burning is all like a bonus.

I just realized it's been a month of "will I be 210 again today or 211 again?".

The good news is that I'm consistently 210/211, so I'm not GAINING weight. I'm just not losing it anymore. But it's been a month, so I think I'm ready to start pushing myself back into losing.

A few factors I believe caused me to stagnate my weight loss:

I've lost 40 pounds. I've lost 40 pounds in the past. Multiple times. It's always 40 pounds I lose, never more, never less. My body gets tired of the process after the three-four months of not eating garbage.

Vacation. I went on vacation, ate out of my usual zone, didn't gain anything, but my appetite is used to eating shit again.

I need to start eating a lot of home baked chicken again, as I noticed I haven't recently and that was my go-to meal for the past few months.

That's your problem, mate. Chicken is bland and tasteless. For the 18 year olds learning of it, it's a god-send. Cheap, full of protein and fat and vitamins. It's perfect!

But it's actually also full of omega-6 FAs and is bland as balls. Chicken breast is basically tofu. Chicken thighs are tofu with some chicken blood. Wings are great, but how often can you eat wings before you get sick of them?

Nah, pork is where its at. Cheap, tasty, more ways to cook it with more things (more green veggies, in particular). And even though pork is also high in omega-6 FAs, it's less than chicken (grass-fed/free-range not withstanding) and only beef tops it (which is usually twice as much $$ per calorie, especially if you're not American).

Plus you can always (and should) supplement with seafood or seafood products. Oysters and smoked herring are the best.

You can add whatever spices you want but the ones I listed keep it nice and flavorful for me. I also saute some vegetables at the end of the chicken cooking (while the rice is almost done) and add a couple splashes of soy or teriyaki sauce to the pan right before I turn off the heat. The whole meal is probably too high in sodium but I haven't figured out a way to make things taste good without adding some salt.

In Europe we have a table of contents for the nutritional values; per 100 gram you can see how many calories are in a product.

The reason why I say this is because my parents always have had a certain type of snack nut mix with crunchy bits too, ever since I have moved out I have been watching my fat ass, so that it may lose some weight(I was obese and now I'm acceptable YUSH), it turned out that per 100 grams, it contained 500 calories! it was a 400 gram package, so that alone covers your entire day.

Ask him at least for the name of the product, and also get him on protein shakes, and also low calorie meal protein shakes, note however that if he wants to replace dinners with it; that he only does so every other day, and to never dip below 1200 calories per day, and that he reaches 1200 plus with fruits and vegetables too.
Also use myfitnesspal app, I guarantee you that it will have most product names that are available, and thus you will always know what is what.

Also if you lift(DYEL); make sure you use the cardio bicycle exercise to measure calories burned, and use the kettle-bell app if you want to know for real(I can swing a full body session for 18 minutes now!)
Also tell him to take the bike to work if he is like, 10-20 minutes away from it, because you also have to cycle back, and this burns like crazy.

Depending on your cardio, it could be worse. Running will grind your joints into dust, and at a massive weight it might be hard to cycle as well. Really your options are doing some walking/elliptical or swimming. Weight lifting done right shouldn't stress your joints overmuch, do some more research into it. I'm 6'4" and I started lifting at around 220 (100kgs). Went pretty well. Tried running but as you said together with the lifting, it just grinded your bones to dust.

You can just do cardio at first if you want, it's totally fine. In fact the first time I went from lardass to skelly mode I only did cardio and keto. Worked wonders. I ended up looking like a twig though and had zero strength, but that was expected after a lifetime of sitting in front of a computer screen.

Your height is relevant due to the mass distribution on your body. Someone weighing 200lbs at your height, for example, is perfectly normal, while someone at a foot of height less would be obese as fuck.
275 might be okay for you, if you are still going to continue doing cardio. When I started lifting I did both too but I eventually phased out the cardio because I really grew tired of it and I had zero fun doing it.

The main thing people are usually also on about is the whole diet thing and gaining muscle while losing fat. From what I know it is perfectly possible to do so if you're a beginner, you will just progress more slowly and your gains won't be crazy. Progressing from a low weight with a higher caloric intake than what you need every day should apparently give you better results though. Combining both by starting at a weight slightly below what's "normal" for you isn't a bad idea, I would think. And don't be afraid, you won't look like a skelly at around 220, you will still have plenty of fat.

When I went through my fat loss plan that made me want to kill myself every day, I ate no more than 1000, maybe 1200 kcal a day and did tons of cardio every single day (at around 2300 sedentiary TDEE). I sometimes didn't even lose a pound in a whole fucking week and it was demotivating as fuck. But then it would suddenly drop like a rock and everything was fine again. Hell, I'd have days where I'd suddenly lose two pounds at once (and not just due to water weight - it didn't randomly rise again).

I'd just say, if you are on a good diet and keeping at it (what was it, TDEE-500 for about a pound lost a week?) as strictly as you can, you will eventually see results. It could just take a while.

Don't use a scale to measure your losses. Use body tape to measure yourself. Only do it once a month. Doing it daily/weekly will just discourage you.

We all have bad days, its only naturally. If you put off eating certain foods, you will eventually cave. The way to overcome this is by limiting yourself. Want a pizza? Eat light over the next 3 days after and go the gym consistently.

Whatever you do, record everything you eat. Even if you do go over your limit, at least know by how much so you can reflect on ways to do less damage next time.

I mean the costs in and of themselves to set up would be stupid. It _works_ to an extent, and for a body builder or someone who wants to actually kill their fat cells it's a good option. The problem is the reason you have to spread the treatments apart is because of the toxins and fat released into the body when the cells are destroyed.
