First time reading it, this scene caught me completely off guard and really established how devastating the incursions were.

I know that I have a lot of storytimes ahead of me

Also I've collected his SHIELD, Secret Warriors, and Fantastic Four run so I could start with them and then just continue till I hit the whole shebang.

I think Doom Patrol, Shade, and Bug are their best titles. Cave Carson I don't like as much because of the art but I remember you dig Oeming so may like it more. Mother Panic is just an R-rated Bat-comic, which isn't necessarily bad, just not as interesting as the other ones.

The first volume is actually pretty decent, unfortunately rather than let her grow organically, they put her on the goddamn Avengers and shit. Even worse, her writer clearly ran out of ideas so even her ongoing isn't any good anymore.

Is it true that the "Original 5 X-Men" weren't actually plucked from the past but in fact a parallel universe that just happened to be really really really similar to ours? And that was the reason why the timelines didn't completely break?

Technically, I consider Hickman's run on Utimates finished. He ended prematurely because he was moving to the main title but he still managed to deal with The Maker's. Afterward it was Humphries messing around with Presidient Cap. I actually agree with you that I consider Hickman's Ultimates better than Miller's first volume but if I'm going to compare it to Millar's total run on Avengers I'm going with Millar. I find it very interesting to see how the Ultimate universe evolved from Miller to Fialkov. I think of them as four distinct phases

I think they were just trying something new. Yellow and Black isn't really a bad combination but it suits heroes like Yellow Jacket more than Iron Man. You gotta have at least some Red with Stark. Part of the problems with the Mark 42 armor, just too much deviation from the classic color scheme.

I don't quite agree but I can still recognize you have good taste. I feel like my favorite is a tossup between Extremis, Superior, and Mark V but that may soon change if I take a peek through past iterations. Even though I know it wasn't Tony, I had a huge hard on for Osborn's Iron Patriot. Shame he modified the chest design for cosmetic purposes and as result the unibeam isn't quite as strong as it could be.

Am I wrong for considering Ewing to be "Grant Morrison Light". He's a huge continuity nerd that presents big concepts in singular issues. Since he started on Mighty Avengers I can't say he's written a bad series (although others may disagree).

Even though this Loki is technically Old Loki, he doesn't feel like the same character. He has gone through a lot of growth and I feel is a tried and true hero.

Also, would anyone be so kind to provide a reading order so I can get the full picture of Loki? I have all of Journey into Mystery and Fractions's Thor, is that sufficient?

I completely forgot about the Ultimate Armor. Most people disregard it as nothing more than a relic, but I enjoy the fact that it requires a fully manned team to place Iron Man in the armor as well as remove it. I also love that Tony Stark is at some level terrified of putting on the armor which is why he drinks. He mentioned it as a joke, "who would climb into this thing sober?", but I really believe he was just covering up his true feelings. Ultimate Tony is probably the most human of them all and also the most innately charming. But that's just me. There's been significantly more titles tied to 616 Tony but in spite of that there is a genuine earnestness in 1610 Tony.

Not gonna lie currently I'm definitely much more of a DC fan. I really enjoy Marvel comics but current culture has infected Marvel comics to the nth degree wherein the writer's views infect the characters themselves. Rebirth was a definite step in the right direction but I know I definitely have to read more pre New52 to gain an appreciation for it. Mostly I've been sticking with Superman but I'm willing to branch out.

This is honestly why I don't even bother with Marvel anymore. Superman is great and my favorite character as well, but I'd recommend New Super-man (chinese superman) and Red Hood and the Outlaws. I'd say in terms of quality, these two are the best DC has to offer right now. The former does diversity well without it being overbearing, and the latter is well-written. Both are incredibly fun. People also seem to enjoy Deathstroke and Green Lanterns a lot, as well as Superman (not Action Comics).

I adore Red Hood and the Outlaws. It's baffling how much Lobdell has improved since his New52 run. I remember enjoying him on Wildcats but that's all of my early exposure. I've actually never read New Superman so I'm glad to have another Super book to start reading. I also haven't read Deathstroke because the last Deathroke title I've read I believe had Daniel and Jordan on writing duties and while it wasn't outright terrible, it didn't impress.

Superman by Tomasi is everything I hoped it could be. It is unlike any of the New52 books that came before and I love it all the more for it. Also Gleason is an absolute beast on artwork duties. The only thing I would change is to bring the trunks back but I'm willing to let that one go if it means more Tomasi Superman. I'm also surprised by how much I'm loving Lois in the Tomasi series because she was an absolute cunt in the New52 series. It's so weird thinking that the Convergence Superman tie in laid the foundation for what we have now. I wouldn't have believed it if I went back in time and told myself what would happen. I would have thought I was full of shit.
