>>78902783 Ahsoka has the misfortune of being inserted into an already established franchise. And she's not some background character either; she's a major player in Anakin's life as well as this whole rebellion business. The more important she becomes, the stranger her absence in the OT becomes. Death is just the simplest and cleanest explanation. No loose ends and everyone is satisfied.
>>78902865 None that I can recall, but I'd imagine it was a placeholder name while they came up with a proper one for later. Because having a totally different person become a "Darth Tano" would be stupid and confusing.
I want her to be tearing up while it happens too and I want her to die alone.
It would be even more perfect if she tried to go back into hiding and cut all contacts beforehand so no one learns that she died. To the rest of the world she just wandered off but the audience would know.
>>78903310 They're basing the entire series around the look of the McQuarrie paintings that were made during the original trilogy. Back then, lightsabers were going to be more like rapiers than samurai swords.
We don't know that. We don't know anything about what was going through his head there. He was surprised when the robes collapsed. This is pretty obviously because the rest of the setting and story hadn't been written yet, but re-framed with later-added content, you could easily interpret his actions as dumbfounded shock, a sincere expectation that Obi-Wan would've done SOMETHING to prevent his own death.
>>78904391 Rebels will be supplementary. They may use characters, settings, etc. from the show in the movies, and may shed more light on things in the movies on the show, but they won't make anyone watch a children's cartoon to understand the important stuff in the movies.
>>78905347 check out the unfinished episodes on the Star Wars website Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir is a comic based on a couple of arcs that were never made Dark Disciple is a novel based on another arc
>>78902394 I hope when they duel, Starkiller will show up and beat the crap out of both of them. Ashoka will beg for her life and Starkiller will spare her. After that she falls in love with him. Her love for him is so strong she quits fighting and follows Starkiller everywhere he goes.
>>78905301 You know what's funny? What if Obi-Wan was ALREADY dead, and had just found a force-ghost variant technique to remain corporeal? Seriously...no body!! That's the only thing that explains it.
>>78907561 Shaak-Ti was unkilled twice before getting killed in TFU The only reason she was unkilled that time was the canon wipe For all we know in nuCanon she was killed during Order 66 or had a fate similar to Luminara
>>78913544 It was different. Filoni has talked about this too. People like Rex and Ahsoka will make him angry, reminding him of what he's lost.
When Luke entered his life, for the first time in countless years, Vader saw a future. Mind, you, one in which he trained his son and killed Sheev and then they would go on to rule the galaxy, but a future nonetheless.
>>78916893 >your master trains you to cheat death >kill your master >kill all jedi, obtain monster face >take an apprentice to teach him how to cheat death >cripple him so he can't kill you >wants to kill you anyway >eventually does kill you anyway >you never learned how to cheat death >you never taught apprentice how to cheat death >both die >luke wins the Star Wars >original master cheats death and is now snoke
>>78917012 I loved Plagueis, but I really hope it's not true. That meant he would have gone from the one being who could peeve the Sheev, to being a ruler less competent than a night shift manager at a Dennys.
>>78902394 He'll torture her, trying to find out where Obi-Wan and other Jedi are. Then use her to lure in the crew. Kill her in front of Kanaan and Ezra. Kill them as they're trying to get back to the ship. Ship gets blasted trying to escape since they're distracted as all hell.
>>78907561 They have to kill her off or it fucks up the original trilogy becuase if shes not dead and she helped found the rebellion why wasnt she right there with luke fighting vader, or helping luke train for that matter
>>78904229 >>78902636 I doubt he will he might make a reference to their past and he will probably try to convert her becuase she left the jedi order but i doubt he would say snips it just doesnt work as vader
>>78903310 If you look closely in the original trilogy especially when luke is first given the lightsaber and is moving it around looking at it they weren't tube shaped they had a thin side more like an actual blade
>>78902394 Palpatine will do it. Anakin will have to choose between helping him or Ahsoka as they fight (mirroring the climax from Return of the Jedi), but is too craven to make a decision. Sheev ultimately wins and sarcastically consoles Vader, telling him that not everyone has the strength to make choices that matter.
>>78902394 Vader probably wants to use her to get to Kenobi or get info on surviving Jedis, other than that he most likely would kill her and he would not shed a tear.
Vader's heart won't feel anything but hate anymore at least until he learns about Luke's existance. His son is what saved him and in those few minutes before he died, knowing that he had a daughter probably also helped him go to the light side in the end since it was really important to him for Luke to tell Leia that Luke was right about Vader's redemption.
>>78917416 Yeah maybe on the force ghost TV but not in the movies she might die in season two and then show up as a force ghost in the later seasons of rebels Also they already said being able to become a force ghost is the most difficult thing to do as a jedi and that they need to learn it which is why its kinda dumb anakin ever became a force ghost since no jedi would have taught him yoda only taught obi wan after reveng of the sith and obi wan and anakin werent exactly on dpeaking terms at that point
>>78902394 I don't understand why people think Ahsoka has to die. Just because she's not mentioned in the original trilogy and Luke just assumes he's the last jedi? All she has to do is last two more years then Vader's attention will simply be on the rebellion full time. Maybe Ahsoka will be involved in the background somewhere, helping Bothans obtain Death Star plans or similar.
>>78917533 I have a feeling Vader learned how to become one with the force as well after his transformation. I don't think it's just a jedi thing but more of a force user technique. After all, even Yoda didn't hear about it until well into Clone Wars.
>>78917802 Man all those comics and images that have him and Padme always fucking get to me, I also like how in Gillen's Vader comic his personal ship for non-Empire business looks like a Naboo royal starship but in black, plus the comment Aphra makes about Padme being loved and being someone special and Vader just being silent or him thinking of her when they are in Genosis.
Speaking of Padme I hope she gets some passing mention in Episode 8, it bugged me before the PT as a kid that we never got to know who Luke and Leia's mom was and then after the PT even in the EU Luke and Leia don't find out until way later (and I don't think Luke even knows her name).
>>78917885 Well Anakin is suppose to be incredibly powerful in the force so I can see him manifesting himself with ease after his death, he probably just willed himself into being seen.
Also in the force Awakens artbook there was concept art for a creepy Anakin force Ghost talking to Luke and the idea was for him to fluctuate between looking like Anakin and Vader because Anakin had been both in the lightside and darkside so he manifested himself as both (which shouldn't make sense since he was redeemed and no longer in the darkside? Errr).
>>78917869 Becuase based on everything we've learned about her character she would be having none of that shit. She helped found the rebellion to fight the empire becuase she wanted to do everthing she could to stop the empire, shes going to face vader. Also theres no way that if she was in the backround yhat she wouldnt come out of the backround to help luke she already came out of the backround to help kanan and ezra who are just 2 random jedi, no way would she not help her former master's son
>>78917151 Plagueis was already somewhat incompetent because he set up his apprentice to betray him. Granted Sheev was never powerful enough to achieve immortality, but he was nonetheless content in believing that he knew all of his master's secrets.
>>78902751 Betting she comes to realise that Vader and the Emp. can track her through the Force and leaves for a self-imposed Forceless exile on the outer rim before she bring all that deep deep shit down on the Rebellion.
>>78917885 >>78918166 Yeah but yoda is very powerful also and he didnt even know it existed until he was taught ,the only person who wasnt taught by someone who already knew how was qui gon and it took him almost 15 years It just doesnt make sense anakin would even be aware of it and while he was powerful he wasnt as wise as qui gon so i dont buy anakin doing what took him 15 years in like 2 hours
>>78918278 Thats not how it works naturally in star wars a persons life force/midichlorians/soul go into essentially a big pool. all their power is liquidated and combined with everything else that has ever died and that is what jedi and sith manipulate. However with training they can learn to retain their identity after death otherwise they basically just melt away
>>78918395 Heres the thing ive stuggled with since i was ten though does that mean mace windu can beat yoda cause he stomped palpatine, if anakin just listened to windu and trusted him nothing bad would ever have happened
>>78918463 I think before he wore the suit he was supposed to have the strongest potential, just not the experience to use it yet. After he ended up more man than machine he had the experience, but lost a lot of his potential. It would be unlikely Palpatine would have kept him around if he was really that much of a threat to him, what with the Sith Master retirement plan being death by betrayal more often than not.
>>78918301 I thought Qui Gon learned the technique from some ayy lamos and his training was incomplete when he died so unless you're in a very force strong place all he could manifest as was as a voice?
>>78918447 Physical confrontations between force users seem to be largely won by the most confident. Up until Vader's last breath, that has always been Palpatine. The man had an ego bigger than the galaxy.
Which is probably why Yoda, and so many other Jedi, lose: In order to avoid the dark side, they are taught to be humble. It's the proud, but utterly cold, motherfuckers like Kenobi and Windu who end up jedi war machines. The guys who'd be Sith if they weren't almost entirely dead inside emotionally. Most regular Jedi are simply too...humble.
>>78919264 force literally lets you do what yu think it can just need to get the iead in your head and believe it if you convinced some force sensitive kid that he could kill everyone that evewn might consider doing him harm at once, he could it
>>78914718 I can practically guarantee you that if we ever became friends with an alien race the sex trade between our two species would skyrocket. Another sentient life form that ISN'T another boring member of our own race and cannot give or receive sexually transmitted diseases or even become pregnant? The first intergalactic whores would become millionaires amongst both our people.
>>78917885 I think they outright said that manifesting as a forceghost is a Jedi only thing, Anakin was the chosen one and had the strongest connection to the living force, I can accept that he is still able to manifest as force ghost even though he has no training
Ahsoka will defend the scooby-gang from Vader and the two loser inquisitors. Ahsoka will understand during the fight who exactly is Vader and lose the will to fight. Vader will choke her while she's crying and toss her away, then focus his attention on the hero group.
But then the inquisitors will use the occasion to kill Ahsoka while vulnerable, happy to kill a Jedi and thinking it will please Vader.
Vader kills the two inquisitors and go away, forgetting the others.
>>78923033 This, there's only a few ways to explain Ahsoka notbeing around for any of the original trilogy.
a, she dies at some point b, she's incapacitated some how 3, she goes off on some kind of quest which is more important than the rebellion.
Remember right now she's a big player in the Rebellion, easily their most powerful operative and recruiter and handler for at least two cells, it makes little sense for her to not show up at some point in the OTunless something more hugely important comes along, or she is other wise taken out of the picture.
>>78923065 She doesn't know who Vader is yet, part of the reasons she doesn't show up is them saying that she's looking into who Vader is. In that scene Ahsoka is basically being rebuffed by attempting to see into Vader's mind to find out who he is.
>>78923134 You remember in the OT when Luke blew that mission for everyone just because he was a part of it and Vader could sense him? She could very well leave because of that, any missions she goes on Vader will be able to sense her.
>>78919400 Bullshit, Anakin was confident against Dooku at the first time, Obi Wan was shitting on his pants against Maul, Palpatine tried to escape the fight with Yoda (Sheev even said that Yoda was over-confident).
The stronger will likely win if he dont make mistakes.
>>78918359 Dubious claim since he cant cheat death. Sheev was obsesses with possessing physical power so he was a bit of an idiot in the end despite being very adept his hubris and short sightedness killed him.
Plagueis looked at the really big picture which was the force. He was more powerful because he could cheat death and create life using the force. Yoda, Qui Gonn and Obi Wan all learned the value of that as well attaining immortality by becoming force ghosts. Plagueis gained immortality by being able to infinitely maintain his physical existence.
Vader killed off the remaining Jedi. Ashoka is not a Jedi. I think they wrote her as not-Jedi for a reason, guys. He didn't go around killing off all the force positive/sensitive things he found because that would have taken AGES.
On a side-note, I think that the M word could be justified as microorganisms that are attracted to force-users and THAT'S why they're used by the prequel-era Jedi to scout users. That and Qui-Gon was just explaining it to a child, briefly, in terms that an 8 y/o would be able to more easily digest. All powerful force-users would just be lousy with them as a by product of the intensity with which they could use the force being attractive to the creatures.
Besides, do you not understand the concept of the exotic? You look similar, but alien nonetheless, it's why people fetishize other races. Though I can't speak for blacks, I think they just find their own women repugnant
>>78914652 I keep imagining that scene, where Obi-Wan acutally decides to finish him off by force-pushing him into the lava, but instead, doing it too hard and having Anakin skip across the lava like a stone over water. Cracks me up every time
It's impossible to ascribe any emotion at all to that dance number. It's also one of two fights in the PT where Lucas just plot-armours the winner. That said, Maul, while skilled, is essentially a mook, so it's no surprise Obi-Wan beat him. He's Boba Fett tier until he actually has some char growth in TCW.
>Sheev even said that Yoda was over-confident
I don't think you know what 'over-confident' means...
>>78918447 Did Mace really stomp Sheev? I am not convinced. I believe the most likely case is that Sidious allowed Mace to disarm and overpower him. Palaptine was able to sense Vader was alive on mustafar from inside the Senate chamber on coruscant. It's therefore plausible that he could either sense or foresee that Anakin was coming to help Windu make the arrest. Sheev was trying to convert Anakin to the dark side, and having him betray the jedi by attacking Windu was the best way, he couldn't kill Windu himself because that would simply paint him as the dangerous sith lord. He needed to appear vulnerable and weak to back up the lies he had been feeding Anakin about the jedi. Mace is an excellent saber user, maybe the best, but does that mean he can defeat anyone he fights? No, martial skill means nothing to the force, if anything, Mace's skill only made Sheevs bullshit more convincing to Anakin, pushing him over the edge and sealing his fate as Vader.
>>78902394 Wait so is this darth vader really anakin? because hes supposed to have died a long time ago, it makes no sense. Wait i forget it wasent luke with ashoka, god that would have been weird but this timeline is before luke isnt it? in this timeline luke would be a teen somewhere in space.
>>78902394 >"A Princess on Lothal" January 20, 2016 Ezra and Kanan covertly meet with a new ally, Princess Leia.
Apparently princes "incest kiss" leia is in the next episode, this gonna be good have we seen her in this animation style before? id love to see luke, chewy and han, god please let it happen at some point.
>>78935507 Mace was not stronger than Sheev in the sense you think, he just happened to have created and been a master of a style that was more effective the stronger in the darkside your opponent was. Mace was not stronger per say, he just had the perfect counter.
>>78936244 It takes place before ANH you idiot. There is only one Darth Vader in the SW universe, no matter how hard Kylo tries to emulate him. Look at Leia and Ezra in >>78936359 and that gives you a vague look at what Luke looks like at this point. Keep in mind that Ezra is two days older than Luke and Leia.
>>78936703 Yes, his saber form/overall saber skill may have been better, my point though was that Mace didn't stomp Sheev as was stated, Sheev allowed Mace to "defeat" him. He needed Anakin to attack Mace.
