Bigger capacitors hold more charge. Some capacitors are polar and you can only put voltage through one way without things going wrong.

Yeah, if you want to build a robot and something that no one cares, yes.

In my 3rd year of college I built an analog circuit called VUMeter, it detects sounds and varies the voltage and then it lights up some leds depending on sounds volume. Nobody gaves a single fuck.

why are transistors so important? i looked at a few AND and OR gate schematics but i dont get what it does. You could make a much simpler looking logic gate without a transistor. But im guessing the fact that it retains charge is important.

>>582945219

>>
>>582946267
You can make transistors really small.
That's really the only reason we use them instead of, say, vacuum tubes. (that and they don't shatter when you drop them)
>>
>>582946267
When I started building sources for my guitar pedals, I always wondered: how can I allow more current to pass with this LM78XX (it only passes 1A). And then transistor came with the answer.
If you put a transistor, you will keep the original voltage and it allows it to pass more than 1A through the transistor.
>>
>>582946267
Also, transistors are cheaper, lighter, smaller and more effective than vacuum tubes/valve.

But if you look on the musician (guitarists) side, they prefer using vacuum tubes than transistors inside their amplifier.

The problem goes like this.

You can do this with two digital time delay relays. But those cost $40-50 ea new.

A very simple PLC can do this, but costs $80-140. However it comes with a case and runs off AC.

I'd try buying a used PLC off ebay and learning how to dick with it. It's a valuable skill some places.
