>>575329874 not sure why, but lately I've really been into Sword Art Online. It has some shit parts and the fairy part is kind of gay, but I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is also amazing. Just don't watch the dub.
I was actually surprised by that. It's just masterfully done. The Animation's great, the writing is some of the best to come out of the medium, it respects its viewers and as enough faith in its own quality that it doesn't need any fanservice, the characters are REALLY good.
It really is a fantastic and conpulsively watchable thing. And to think it's a pretty generic show on the very surface. Honestly if it wasn't for NGE it would be my favorite show ever.
I guess the critic about how countrys are throwing their moneys out of the window went above your head...
C is exactly like Arakawa, you can take it either for a normal anime, in Arakawa case, a love/come one, and in C case, a combat one. Or you can take it for what it actually is, a powerfull anime who talk about how the system fail on somes points.
that's okay. I think that has happened to a lot of people. the go into it with so many expectations and then feel underwhelmed by it. but it is a well made anime and it can be used as barometer on how an anime should be done. even if it isn't your cup of tea, you never hear people say it a bad anime, just that it was over hype by people.
Spice and Wolf Kill la Kill Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (screw the original) Attack on Titan Eden of the East Eden of the East Baccano! Neon Genesis Evangalion Boondocks (if you consider that anime)
Redline Akira Blood: The Last Vampire Memories Ghost In The Shell Hellsing Ultimate Abridged Berserk Abridged (then read the manga) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Kill la Kill when you're in the mood for something ridiculous but awesome (ditto Redline) Cowboy Bebob when you're in the mood for something serious and good quality Every episode of Evangelion EXCEPT THE LAST 2 When Cicadas Cry ______ High, that one about the high school full of punks where everyone has an overly serious face, and Freddy Mercury shows up Attack On Titan after all that Stay away from magical girl and slice of life shit, it's completely boring With the exception of Cowboy Bebop and a rare few others, always watch the sub
>>575336031 No, I didn't like it because it was generic 13 episode shonen #752 in which MC is introduced to cute girl and each episode is "fight of the day" where it concludes in the girl professing her love and disappearing forever. Perhaps if there was a second season, I'd like it. In all honesty, I'm not a fan of ecchi, hence why there's only like two in my list. I liked them for the comedic relief, nothing more.
>>575336936 Nice opinion, fagtron. You sure convinced me with those hot opinions. I'll try to watch more MATURE anime for MATURE viewers such as yourself.
>>575337774 No I was well aware they used these thematics to get a little edgy. I have spent enough time discussing these problems that the thematic just became dull and overused to me. Guess this can also ruin something.
I could just argue about "throwing money out of the window" we could be here for days and still won't be finished as we delve through every fucking system that mankind has brought to daylight which abuses everything and everyone.
>>575336253 I also thought AoT get' a lot of shit. It has now turned into a show which even normalfags enjoy and talk about here. It's fanbase is bullshit because its close to everyone but the whole setting is still very unique. The pacing may be really bad sometimes and things get out of scale, but this does not turn it into shit instantly.
I feel the same way about helsing ultimate. I'm not a big fan of it. I think I fell for the hype of it and when I watched it I was underwhelmed by it. but at no point would I say its a bad show. different people have different likes and unlikes. the good thing about anime is they're so many different types, that you'll eventually find ones you like.
So since it's old and this shit had been built for years it must be good hum?
I'll start to make a paint with my shit, every years, i'll stick more shit on it, so in 15 years it will be a massive shit and took me years to make it. Guess it will be a fucking piece of art by then.
>>575338736 This is why discussing anime on /b/ is bullshit. Not that /a/ is much better but you get that this is really just opinions. Things get "overrated" just because a whole lot of people really enjoy it. Then some edgelords appear who seem to just dislike anything that is popular on a wider scale. It might get overrated quickly but most of the time its not entirely baseless, you just have to find out If you like it yourself. Never discard things just because they get overrated by its fanbase.

there are a few things I like about AoT. the setting is unique and the animation is top notch in my opinion but the pacing is what killed it for a lot of people. I also like watching it while reading the Toonami general on /co/ on Saturday nights. the comments are priceless. but back to the topic on hand. as much as I didn't like some things about AoT, I liked it enough to watch it all the way through and then watch it again on Toonami. your right about the fan base being one of the worst.
Ok, I guess I should've explained what I meant by shonen garbage, that is, long running shonen shows that serve no purpose in the world but to turn a profit for the producers and publishers for as long as possible by stretching their often already thin ideas into giant, neverending, pieces of contrived shit.

You've seriously not heard anything about Oda if you think he's in it for money. Are you scared that it's too long or something?
It's a planned out work it's not just spontaneous shit seriously, go read/watch OP whilst giving it a honest chance, if you get to Alabasta whilst thinking it's shit the whole way through I will literally suck you off
First of all, you are insane and hopelessly clueless if you think One Piece is still a passion project or because it stimulates the creative mind of the author.
And second: I'm not just hating on One Piece or whatever show you like, it's just a fact that any show with 100-200+ episodes just simply cannot tell a cohesive, tight, satisfying story. It's just. not. possible.
All you fucking faggots who keep calling the plural form of anime "animes" is a goddamn retard. Japanese words do not have a plural form in the sense that you add an "s" to it. If you have more than one anime, it's anime. More than one ninja, you have ninja. Same with shuriken, and so on.
>bad guy shows up >o sht he gots a groop >fite them baddies >each one is like a level, spending 1-3 episodes trying to beat them up >shit happens, 2power4me >natsu whips out his dragon cock slap and summons the inner magic of friendship >go back to guild hall with a new character
>>575349382 I watched until that arc with gajeel or whatever, and stopped when I saw he joined ft. "hey guys so we're gonna kill you" "nvm lets be buddies dude" gtfo with that shit. I was trying to look past it's other flaws but that was just too much.
The only anime series i've seriously watched is attack on titan, which is pretty good. But right now i'm watching cow bebop for the first time. This show is fucking genius. I doubt i'll every watch an anime series as good as this. One of the best shows i've ever seen, animated or not, and i'm not even done with it yet. Are there any other animes that are like this, instead of the high pitched weaboo crap?
I'm currently watching Gundam 00 and while it does have its flaws, for a show about giant robots punching each other, there's a lot of depth and things to enjoy. It is very political, at least the first season, and the characters are all flawed to some degree, but still rather likeable. The show also isn't afraid to kill off people on either side of the conflict and it doesn't feel like shock value. It's also nice that there's ambiguity throughout about the main characters' plans of 'stopping war with force'. That idea is ridiculed and questioned quite often.
>>575350671 One of few recent animes that is God tier, they just finished the season (most likely series) this month. It's funny but has plenty of seriousness. Also, the English dub is better than the sub.
>>575329874 Kaiji Akagi Gurren Lagann Paranoia Agent Black Lagoon >>575349209 >>575348710 It is pretty boring, the humour is really cringe-worthy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2ypDDYDl70
I'm pretty sure the reason it's popular is because it has a really high budget that goes into the exaggeration scenes (eg: accidentally getting your thumb punctured by your pencil creates a nuclear explosion in Yuuko's mind from the pain), and nearly every gif from the series that gets posted is from said lolsorandumb scenes.
>>575351042 >I heard the anime isn't as good as the manga. It's only 3 episodes in and it's really good and faithful so far, only ''flaw'' I can think of is that for whatever reason there's been 2 scenes where dubstep started playing.
>>575350970 I've never seen the whole series but from the Dragonforce mv of the last battle it looks pretty fucking awesome. The same people who made Kill la Kill made it. Apparently my lazyness has caused me to miss out on one hell of a journey, it's not serious like Bebop though.

>>575329874 Just started watching Attack on Titan: Collection 2. It's good with action but takes forever to get there due to internal monologues by the main characters. Even when they are running for their lives or fighting a giant Titan head-on and the pace is fast, they completely ruin it by stalling while the protagonist goes into an internal monologue to tell us what he's thinking instead of just doing. Even during the aforementioned run for their lives, they cut to an episode-long flashback. It gets to the point where you want to reach in and smack the guy and yell at him to get the fuck on with it.
>>575352913 The manga is... not the best drawn. For the part that's been animated, the series is better. Might as well read the manga from when that ends though, we're not getting more animation for fucking years. Also, might as well have music and sound effects and voices, it really does make for a better experience.
>>575353015 You'll want to only watch FMA BH. There was an original FMA, which wasn't close to the manga at all, BH is the original story as told by the manga so you'll def wanna watch that shit. I watched the first series just because it was on Toonami n shit, but imo BH is much better and ofcourse closer to the source story. So ye, finna
