I was actually surprised by that. It's just masterfully done. The Animation's great, the writing is some of the best to come out of the medium, it respects its viewers and as enough faith in its own quality that it doesn't need any fanservice, the characters are REALLY good.

It really is a fantastic and conpulsively watchable thing. And to think it's a pretty generic show on the very surface. Honestly if it wasn't for NGE it would be my favorite show ever.

The only anime series i've seriously watched is attack on titan, which is pretty good. But right now i'm watching cow bebop for the first time. This show is fucking genius. I doubt i'll every watch an anime series as good as this. One of the best shows i've ever seen, animated or not, and i'm not even done with it yet. Are there any other animes that are like this, instead of the high pitched weaboo crap?

I'm currently watching Gundam 00 and while it does have its flaws, for a show about giant robots punching each other, there's a lot of depth and things to enjoy. It is very political, at least the first season, and the characters are all flawed to some degree, but still rather likeable. The show also isn't afraid to kill off people on either side of the conflict and it doesn't feel like shock value.
It's also nice that there's ambiguity throughout about the main characters' plans of 'stopping war with force'. That idea is ridiculed and questioned quite often.

I like it.

One of few recent animes that is God tier, they just finished the season (most likely series) this month. It's funny but has plenty of seriousness. Also, the English dub is better than the sub.

I'm pretty sure the reason it's popular is because it has a really high budget that goes into the exaggeration scenes (eg: accidentally getting your thumb punctured by your pencil creates a nuclear explosion in Yuuko's mind from the pain), and nearly every gif from the series that gets posted is from said lolsorandumb scenes.

Just started watching Attack on Titan: Collection 2. It's good with action but takes forever to get there due to internal monologues by the main characters. Even when they are running for their lives or fighting a giant Titan head-on and the pace is fast, they completely ruin it by stalling while the protagonist goes into an internal monologue to tell us what he's thinking instead of just doing. Even during the aforementioned run for their lives, they cut to an episode-long flashback. It gets to the point where you want to reach in and smack the guy and yell at him to get the fuck on with it.

The manga is... not the best drawn. For the part that's been animated, the series is better. Might as well read the manga from when that ends though, we're not getting more animation for fucking years.

You'll want to only watch FMA BH. There was an original FMA, which wasn't close to the manga at all, BH is the original story as told by the manga so you'll def wanna watch that shit. I watched the first series just because it was on Toonami n shit, but imo BH is much better and ofcourse closer to the source story. So ye, finna
