Muthafuckin aircraft thread! Starting off with a MiG-25.
and now here some real airplane.

You cant have a aircraft thread with out the yf-23..
Avro Arrow, mandatory. Personally i find the similarity between the arrow and the 25 to be.... suspicious at the least.
I claim to be no one, but the time for sentient aircraft with rockin' tits has come
you're an edgy anti-patriot who would deny anything just to seem special. Besides seriously look at the two planes side by side. Then check their stats. similar weights, similar speeds and altitude limits, similar deseign and engines. The mig-25 was an awesome plane, if anything it explains why dem americans didn't want us having such a good plane.
avro Shackleton mr mk3 . the last airworthy 1
favoring smaller tits for functionality and stealth capabilities, makessense
Y'all be in the danger zone know! F-14 Tomcat for the win.
identify this aircraft i'd like to know what model it is and where i can find it
Or put more focus on the uboat war, built Walter's uboat, etc, etc.
SR-71 Blackbird. Most beautiful plane out there. Theres one siting within walking distance of my house.
it is one hell of a sexy jet for sure
the way the black one's wings face forward....so majestic
Where's all my rotary wing at
Military pilotfag here
I'm an edgy anti patriot because I don't think the mig 25 was a stolen Canadian design for no discernible reason.
You're a paranoid fag.
Just because somebody else wanted to create a high-speed interceptor doesn't mean they stole the idea, please tell me you're not that utterly retarded.
The weights aren't even remotely the same, the Mig 25 weighs like half the Arrow does.
Besides, if you knew a bit more about the Mig 25 it had it's own engineering and material peculiarities. Specifically pertaining to it's welded construction which made it particularly vulnerable so that it could remain lighter and accelerate faster.
Seriously, don't be a stupid fag. If being a patriot means being an ignorant fuck, I'm glad I'm not by your definition.
The mig 25 could also only maintain 80,000 feet for 2 minutes and could only maintain those for slightly longer before the engines melted themselves. Mach 3.2 was recon version, mach 2.8 was combat version
Yup. German high command made some blunders with their land emphasis.
Decent plane other then the fact that its engines would kill themselves if you flew at high speed for almost any amount of time the controls inside where so scatted that it was hard to reach for things it couldn't turn for shit also you could barely see out of the thing they only could keep the wings swept forward when taking off and landing cause of tearing sises missiles would fall off if you turned to hard and its combat radius was 186 miles..
But it had a pretty good auto pilot so its got that going for it?
The mig 25 could only sustain mac 3.2 at 82000 feet for 2 min before it burn out its engines..
Finally, a thread I can contribute something other than cancer to.
Mig 25 pilots where known to take the jet up to 80k feet and go full afterburner straight up untill their engines burnt out and let there jets get up into the 120k range which is pretty cool..
>Never Shot down by USSR. Ever.
Not bad for "american over-engineering".
Commie drunkard just got blown the fuck out.
Now get back to sucking down vodka and beating off to underage Ukrainian boys.
Mmm, whereas the blackbird will vomit fuel everywhere when not cruising at supersonic speeds, because it was designed for the body to expand under friction created heat. Both are very purpose built planes, but the blackbird is like the american pride and joy for some reason, whereas the mig was russian welded cheap to replace interceptor. which was a good thing probably considering...
Classified: Top Secret
The Aurora Project
I think people are missing the point. The blackbird was totally over-engineered, just so that it could set that world speed record. It was an awesome reconnaissance aircraft to be sure, but i dunno it doesn't impress me all that much considering how much went into it.
>but the blackbird is like the american pride and joy for some reason
It's the ultimate hot rod aircraft. A speed machine built with one purpose: to fuck over and embarrass Reds, which it did with uncontested superiority for decades.
They even had an interceptor version ready to go. Know why it wasn't built? Because the USSR had no high speed surveillance aircraft of its own worth countering. Eagles and Tomcats did the job perfectly fine, so a mach 3.5 interceptor carrying a nuclear-warhead-tipped radar missile wasn't necessary.
The flying wing from Raiders of the Lost Ark
the mig 25 was made of nickel steel not titanium, therefore much heavier than the sr-71, and did not even close to match its top speed, the reason some think the top speed of the mig is 3+ is because an unmanned russian surveillance plane traveling at mach 3.1 was thought to be a mig thatd gone missing on US radar over the arctic. the actual top speed of a mig is mach 2.6
>The blackbird was totally over-engineered
You don't even know what those words means, you autistic slavic subhuman.
The SR-71 was one of the most precisely engineered and purpose built machines on the planet. It was not 'over engineered', it was perfectly engineered to exceed that capabilities of USSR manufacturing.
Go weep over Stalins grave and felate the cast of his microcock you keep in your front pocket.
A question for you engineers: Could this thing fly in real life if built properly?
Better then the u-2 that thing was dangerous..
The sr did what it was designed for and thats more then you can say for the mig 25. now the mig 31 is fairly nice..
The us actually used mig-25s to train pilots for a while
G14 in pic, G4 in vid, dat engine sound
No lift-producing surfaces, "wings" shown wouldn't even qualify as an airfoil.. Unless the fucker thrust vectored it's ass all over the place with some giant turbines id say no
Aw, butt-hurt because someone dissed the plane that you loved as a kid or what?
Anyway contributing more pics of some of my favourite airplanes
F-22 Raptor, surprised this hasnt been posted already
keep it going anons, i'm loving it
>did my first solo flight in one of these
you are all so lame with your fighters and bombers
well actually the mig 25 did exactly what it was meant to do too. It was a cheap mass-produced short range intercepter, the cheapest part of which was the pilot. If it crashed ot fell apart in mid-air, just get another one and put a barely trained potato farmer in it, good to go.
Provided that that pilot wasn't a drunk and the plane could hold together long enough for them to crash it somewhere maybe they might get a missile off..
Can't believe no one's posted this yet. F-4 Phantom II.
It was just the right tool for the right job opening at the right time...
It was a very large and important role yes, but NOT by any means single handed.
That was mostly done by the mosquito.....
IIRC fastest plane in the sky at that time..
Pilots flew with no ammo, armour removes, completely thinned out... all non esential equipment removed to gain every knot possible... purely for photographing the enemy.
The 2 planes that decided the war in Europe!
that's at Duxford imperial war museum.
i've seen those exact aircraft fly during an event
i have hundreds of pics from my visit
low level bait!
There is a reason the brits left the daytime raids to the yanks..
Same reason that my grandfater (signals oficer) said to me once (and it is pretty much the only thing he ever mentioned about the war).. "By D-day +1, I just stopped talking to the americas, they were so dissoganised, you could tell they were going to die, so I didnt waste my time getting to know them."
The very underpowered, very simply designed training jet..
I like it because as someone who is learning to fly (in a Cessna 172).. you can actually realisticaly own if you won the lottery. A fantasy that could actually come true.
Dg1000.. first airfract I flew... no one forgets their first time.
Also many fit the description of people wearing gas masks. Image how odd that'd be to someone who hadn't seen one. Also these explain a lot.
I read somewhere that the SR-71 is capable fo going well beyond that speed engine-wise provided it has enough fuel. However the windows of the cockpit couldn't withstand the forces of mach 3.5+ and would literally fall out. Still my fav aircraft ^^
The whole thread and I don't see a Fighting Falcon anywhere.
Son I am disappoint
What do you think VTOL commercial passenger planes would look like?
You know it's such a sexy plane, needs more pics anyway.
Also needs this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siwpn14IE7E&feature=kp
The SR-71 is a marvel of engendering, also it can sustain it's speed where as the MiG-25 will perm entry damage it's engines. Plus the SR-71 had an incredibly small radar cross section, and the fact they didn't have computers to design it is amazing.
oh shit. it begins.
No planes, but this is almost equally awesome
Probably tens of years away until we get something like this but still pretty neat concept.
Just look at that beauty.
I can't wait until the Auroa is able to used in action.
mmmmm... commercial aviation porn.
how about dc-6?
so many buttons, is the one with yellow/black stripes around it the self-destruction button?
Also, are the standards higher for civil aircraft pilot compare to military pilots?
Lol that made me laugh
I love this video of them in action there's an apache in this one too pulling a gangbang
I'm actually not sure what that does... Not fuel dump as thats located on the fuel panel on the overhead. Not fire bottle discharge or RAT extension... no fucking idea.
The standards are completely different. I would say both groups of pilots excel at their jobs equally well. They just both do completely different shit.
This guy knows his shit but what is your opinion on F-35?
haha, well i said before that the blackbird was over engineered. But atleast it worked, and was engineered to a specific purpose. The f35 is the definition of over engineering.
In a war against another super power, it'd still end up in a dog fight, whether it was designed to or not.
Air support to ground troops have had a lot of troubles in the past. Vietnam, North Korea, almost every war since they've been used, a large amount of them have been shot down.
>Its still in service
not for long
Seriously nobody posted stealth yet?
Wat? No Vulcan? Theres also one of these within walking distance of my house, and another about 12 miles away.
>In a war against another super power, it'd still end up in a dog fight, whether it was designed to or not.
Oh yeah, while the F15's, F16's, F18's, F22's and F35's go around destroying ground targets right? You know nothing about military staging and utilization of assets and you are a horrible person. I hope you feel bad about yourself.
I love these things for some reason
Dem sharp edges
It is perfection.
>without any thought given aesthetic appeal
> implying other super powers don't have fighter jets capable of low altitude engagements on enemy aircraft.
Only America follows the "don't engage under 1000 meter" rule.
You really believe a capable opponent wouldn't send aircraft to take down an advancing enemies air to ground support aircraft?
Built a screensaver with about 1400 of these.
C'mmon, comnpared to a super-hornet, they are all ugly.
As a sounthwest desert dweller. No. Everybody in my area has seen that shit doing it's high-banked turns, then screaming off into the sky before the sound barrier shakes the shit out of everything and scares small children and household pets.
>posts legacy hornet
Speaking of Aurora, this video always gives me goosebumps...
Loved watching these hotdogs zooming in nearly vertical to stuff a bomb in the exact spot you wanted it.....then shove back the canopy and wave to you as they went off for another pass. The devils wore long neck scarves.
oh psh, fine super hornet inbound.
>so much mad
After the Cold War, it was proven in files taken by Soviet defector Valery Mitrokhin (google "Mitrokhin Archive") that the Russians had a spy at Avro Canada in the 50s and they had indeed stolen blueprints for the Arrow, which later influenced the design for the Mig-25.
You guys remember this?
Mmm the new helmet for the f-35 lighting 2
had so much potential but sucks cock. like all russian crap.
You made a mistake and inadvertently posted a sadly inferior spitfire instead of a P51 Mustang. you should check your images folder.
day time bombing raids was a huge loss of life with little results.
My grandfather was a navigator with the damnbusters squadron. He did say that he felt sorry for the poor buggers flying off in the daylight.
Some form of external stimuli has probably landed on your balls' skin, rubbing back and forth on the surface layer, making the receptors of the dermis of the skin irritated, sending itching signals to your cerebral cortex.
