There are games like that but there's also those that handle the transition much more effectively, it would be a shame for you to miss out on those. Having firsthand access to the girl's thoughts as they change over the course of her corruption can be effective as well. Not to mention the fact that a female PC generally focuses the art load on herself which is nice for developers because it's easy to align that with the game's goal.

I think one of the reasons RPGmaker games seem to work better with female protagonists is that so much of the game is spent on "upgrading" your character and tying those upgrades in with the sexual content of the game in a way the player might like is much easier to do with a female character.

In the Akabur's games all anyone seems to want is more costumes. Which is easy enough to do while focusing only on the females because of the framework of the game. In an RPGmaker game it's much easier to frame this sort of system around a female protagonist than a male, at least if you want to do it elegantly. There are ways to work around this of course but it doesn't always work out that well.

In an RPGmaker game you have to spend a lot of your writing capital on responses to the PC from your NPC's, doing so in relation to your male protagonist can possibly also lead to your females being underdeveloped which does remove some of the potential of your game (we're here to fap to the females not the male). Again there are work-arounds to problems like this but they aren't always well utilized.

There's also the trend that some Japanese RPG porn games seem to have that they set their story up like a generic harem complete with spineless protagonist. When I see the dismissive attitude some have towards Japanese games with male protags I think this habit might be a contributing factor.

It could also be that a sense of progression is harder to create in the female characters when you have a male MC and most aren't really as interested in the MC's progression.

Of course this could all be done well with a male MC and that would be great.

What I'm getting with the first two points is that people like stats and visuals that progress to become more and more sexual, but if you put that effort into the male MC it's mostly a waste because nobody is there to jerk off to him or his progression. You've got to make different rules for him and still have him fit into the world you've created or you've got to make more work for yourself that won't contribute in the same way to the goal of the game.
