I think you're under the impression that voice acting costs a lot of time or money. It doesn't. It hasn't slowed things at all. Me having to replace a member of the art team cost me a lot of time and money, though.

I think voice acting just had the bad timing to come up at the same time those issues did. It didn't, and doesn't, slow a damn thing. When push comes to shove with primary stuff voice acting takes second place. Its fraction of the budget is tiny, as was music and everything that isn't the main scenes. Besides that I can stagger voice acting releases with regular ones so there's not so much dead time between releases. I don't lose anything but you gain more frequent releases if you like voice acting. And if you don't then it truly doesn't cost you anything. I am not signing million dollar contracts here.

I get that some people don't like it, and yes I come here for some honest feedback. But I don't think I'd gain anything to wait until the game is done to record it.

Yes, both music and voice acting can be disabled. That's one reason I moved from tyranobuilder to renpy. Renpy allows you to do that by default.

Why do people think that voice acting is somehow going to affect the CG production? They aren't unrelated things done by unrelated professionals.

They can be recording the lines and some other person is doing the drawings. People talk as if the artist is stopping his work to go do voice acting.

That was a long time ago and before I had to replace an artist. It was mostly a matter of scheduling and when stuff was coming in, not money or slowing down the CG production or writing. As it is the voice acting is on schedule and art production was delayed for a different reason so it's prettymuch a moot point.

I was going to release the cg, art, and music with voice acting, then release the third day release in another month or two after that. Voice acting hasn't really cost you anything and I'm sorry if there has been a misunderstanding.
