Rin is so best it hurts. I'm not even into idolshit but Rin is just too damn good that I ended up watching the anime for her.

It's so-so. The side cast (practically everyone aside from the new generations) is too quirky for their own good. The producer was meh even after his backstory got revealed, and it ended on an unsatisfactory note.

I think the best way they could have done it was by maybe having the girls meet the past girls who were under the producer and have them just talk. That way we can talk about the producer's past without making it strictly about him.
