Is One Piece fun again? I dropped it at Marineford because starting with Ennies Lobby, the fighting started to really drag the adventure down, and the power creeps and unnecesary shonen crap like haki bored me. But I suddenly feel really nostalgic about it and I've been thinking about catching up.

I've read this chapter and it looks fun. Like the nice adventure manga I remember. Is it?

I've seen countless people appreciate and even love Dressrosa after reading it in one go. It was the waiting a week thing that the majority of people. Without that, Dressrosa is quite nice. It begins feeling rather comfy then shit hits the fan around every corner.

But I guess you won't like the ending of it if you're not into fights. It did have numerous "oh shit" moments and super hype moments, for what it's worth.

The only real negative Fishman Island had was that it was unfortunate enough to come after the time-skip, so the Strawhats needed to show us what they've learned vs Oda not really letting us truly enjoy the Strawhats routine, after following Luffy for so long.

For what it is and we've learned from it, FI is a solid story arc (and this is ignoring Poseidon, Joyboy, Luffy making FI his territory and declaring war on Big Mom). That people desperately want to label it a bad arc (which is now what some retards unironically do to Punk Hazard and Dressrosa) is sad enough, but when people start throwing shit around like 'Oda lost his touch' and 'too one-sided and the New Fishman Pirates weren't deep enough', it comes off as people just looking for something negative to say for the sake of being contrarian.

I think the crew is a fine size and it doesn't really make sense to have people join the crew past the halfway mark. I'd be surprised if Oda added anymore straight up crew members (the exception being Jimbei who luffy met before the halway point).
