Is One Piece fun again? I dropped it at Marineford because starting with Ennies Lobby, the fighting started to really drag the adventure down, and the power creeps and unnecesary shonen crap like haki bored me. But I suddenly feel really nostalgic about it and I've been thinking about catching up.
I've read this chapter and it looks fun. Like the nice adventure manga I remember. Is it?
Oda seems like he's actually trying write towards the end of the series now, so there aren't as many lull time and a lot of shit is happening at once. So no, you'll probably not like it if you were already falling off during Enies Lobby with TB after it.
I know, that's why I said he can keep drawing but at a chilled out, comfortable, healthy pace. Sure, he loves oing that shit for 20 hours a day but I'm sure he'd love it as much if he did it 16 hours and slept for 8.
Since he turned 5.
Or the mom found real whitebeards son, and is manipulating him for her own gains. No one is arguing the mom is not fake.
The argument is that it is Adams family. Uncle Fester was real all along.
TB was fun, a bit slow but definitely better than EL. And I also enjoyed that part in the bubble marsh island. What really bored and annoyed me was every part after Luffy was alone.
But yeah, if Ennies Lobby/Marineford have become the template for the story format then welp, no thanks.
-Fishman Island is considered one of the weakest arcs by basically all types of fans (fight fans, story fans, adventure fans etc.). You probably won't enjoy it.
-Punk Hazard feels like a weaker Thriller Bark. I think it's a lot of fun, but I'm in the minority. You might enjoy it, but might not.
-Dressrosa starts like the good parts of Alabasta, but ends up like the parts of Marineford you don't like. It's also way too long at 100 chapters. You probably won't enjoy it.
-The current arc is too early to call, but it's seems like it's going to be a laid back adventure arc.
Jesus Christ. In the same island? That is ridiculous even for a shonen. Was Water Seven/Ennies Lobby that long?
Anyways, thanks for the response. I probably won't do it.
I've seen countless people appreciate and even love Dressrosa after reading it in one go. It was the waiting a week thing that the majority of people. Without that, Dressrosa is quite nice. It begins feeling rather comfy then shit hits the fan around every corner.
But I guess you won't like the ending of it if you're not into fights. It did have numerous "oh shit" moments and super hype moments, for what it's worth.
>trying to speak on behalf of the majority
Fuck off faggot. Speak for yourself or speak for your shitty group of people but don't try and lump the majority in with it.
The mom is wearing leopard print, which was Whitebeard's favorite: all his nurses had leopard tights on. Would she know about that, and just be trying to connect herself to WB? Or is it a strike in favor of her legitimacy?
Alternatively, maybe Weeble is Moria's zombie. He has the stitch marks all over him.
Are you trying to deny that Fishman Island isn't commonly considered one of the weakest arcs? Or that Dressrosa isn't one of the most polarizing arcs in the series?
I think that is a great theory, I like theory crafting. Most people on this board are autists.
Maybe we are both right, it really is whitebeards long dead son, animated by moria.
It would explain what moria has been up to, rebuilding his empire. It would explain why whitebeard would not know he had a living son, because he does not. It would explain everything.
And then adams family for the comedic scene, and so weeble can "inherit" WBs will, and start his own pirate family he loves.
I'm trying to deny the penchant for one asshole to declare that his feelings are shared by the majority as a means of giving them weight
>implying this wasn't my first post in the thread
I'm sorry that someone finds it questionable when you assume everyone thinks the same way as you
>Jesus Christ. In the same island
But Dresrosa has a lot to it. It's a pretty vast arc with a lot of characters and areas. It feels much less claustrophobic than Thriller Bark.
>most people on this boards are autists
>Maybe we are both right, it really is whitebeards long dead son, animated by moria.
>And then adams family for the comedic scene, and so weeble can "inherit" WBs will, and start his own pirate family he loves.
Zou is good so far except when Oda tried to trick us into thinking the Curlyhats died. Dressrosa had some dumb stuff, but the good parts were some of the best in the series.
That's because the second half is going to be more about tying up loose ends than the first part. And even with that, it looks like we're going to learn more about Sanji this year, so he definitely has stuff in mind for the crew.
>getting mad enough at people discussing a comic book that you respond for no other reason than to insult
Yep, you sure are not REEEEEEEing about people having fun you autlord.
discuss all you want faggot
just don't get mad when people call out your moronic theory for what it is
maybe AP forums is more your speed, they apparently eat this garbage up like no tomorrow
who's ready for Raizou as next nakama? most of the others fulfilled some role the other's weren't that good at, his being thief replacing Nami. It'd be ironic if the Cat Burgler had her title stolen from her.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person though. Like, literally no one ever had that same thought ever. Trust me.
There are no real position criteria for the Strawhats anyway. If a person joins, they'll make up some job that's convenient even if a pirate ship is the last place they should be.
No you aren't. I really fucking wish Oda can just focus on the current strawhats' development. I mean look at Brook for godsake. If we get more, then it just spreads the panel time for each of them even thinner.
But Oda already said there will be more Strawhats or some shit, so we're just accepting the inevitable and looking for candidates.
Robin is the key crew member all the pirates ought to have. Literally the only reason why she is in the story is so she can read the poneglyphs, find Raftel (Also why Nami's still going to be important), find the One Piece, become pirate king, and save the world.
There is only one who can read the ancient text the world, and that's Robin. I could go on about some of the others. Luffy has gotten incredibly lucky finding these guys.
>or even shuroro
what the actual fuck?
If you think about it, Luffy probably already has the best navigator, shipwright, and cook in the seas. By the end, he'll also have the best swordsman, doctor, and sniper while also being world's strongest man, it's kind of absurd.
So good of you to join us, Oda. Didn't realise you visited these threads. Could you give us some spoilers for the next chapter cause you're clearly the fucking author.
Well, I think that Oda will stick to Luffys statement that he wants 10 members at the start of the series. I also think it is unlikely that Oda will add another crew member now since he is slowly starting to work towards the end of the story. There will be new members that join his fleet, but real new crew members are just unlikely at this point.
>Are you trying to deny that Fishman Island isn't commonly considered one of the weakest arcs?
The only real negative Fishman Island had was that it was unfortunate enough to come after the time-skip, so the Strawhats needed to show us what they've learned vs Oda not really letting us truly enjoy the Strawhats routine, after following Luffy for so long.
For what it is and we've learned from it, FI is a solid story arc (and this is ignoring Poseidon, Joyboy, Luffy making FI his territory and declaring war on Big Mom). That people desperately want to label it a bad arc (which is now what some retards unironically do to Punk Hazard and Dressrosa) is sad enough, but when people start throwing shit around like 'Oda lost his touch' and 'too one-sided and the New Fishman Pirates weren't deep enough', it comes off as people just looking for something negative to say for the sake of being contrarian.
Alternately, the people who bitch about Hody Jones being a shitty villain and hating everything to do with FI are the same types who bitched throughout Dressrosa over its length, while being completely ignorant to how fucking long One Piece actually is.
>Magellan ate the poison fruit
>now he loves eating poison food
>Smoker ate the smoke fruit
>he has never been seen not smoking at least one cigar
>Hancock ate the love fruit
>wants gomu gomu cock inside her
Is this a side affect of their powers? What does this mean for other Devil Fruit users? Is Kizaru compelled to collect lamps? Does Kuma own cats?
No, I don't. I remember DBF being hated so much people pretended it was just anime filler.
Or maybe it as just some retards who actually thought it was.
But anon, Smoker was doomed to be a smoker when his parents gave him the name.
>Remember when Skypia was called the worst arc of the series by pretty much everyone? Welp
Considering there was a retard constantly 'reminding' everyone every single week how long Dressrosa was, by chapter count, and constantly comparing it to Skypiea, W7/EL, it's hard to give a shit about what anyone says in One Piece threads anymore.
Too many spoiled motherfuckers.
Remember when basically every arc and chapter is called shit because the fanbase for one piece is simply too large so that no matter what happens somebody is always going to hate it and sperg out?
I keep reading Bleach because I've been doing it for so long, and it doesn't feel like a chore. It's 19 pages of fucking nothing, so it's quick. It's not good at all, but I don't think it's enough of a time waste to stop. Is that weird?
Skypeia and Fishman Island were both awful to read weekly. There was a lot more hype for Fishman Island, so I'm betting it will always be held in worse regard.
Yeah, but I don't think there are a lot of people left in these threads that do.
Ultimately what arc you love/hate depends on when you got into the series/manga.
>At least FT has some nice butts
That shit hit me like a truck when rereading FT (I love to hurt myself)
I find it almost vulgar now... But I guess that's the reason why it still sells.
I started reading FT recently, but not at the beginning. At the latest chapters. I have no idea what's going on, but I keep up now because of the nice butts and boobies.
>Well, I think that Oda will stick to Luffys statement that he wants 10 members at the start of the series
Luffy said in Japanese that he wants 10 nakama. When you say you want X number of friends/comrades you don't include yourself in that count. Even with Jinbei there's still another person left to join unless Oda changed his mind. Remember when Brook joined he was only "The 8th"
I didn't even know there was a chapter two weeks ago. What a pleasant surprise.
I wonder if Pekoms was a Guardian or a Musketeer and how easy it was to fix his sleeping schedule. He one-shotted Caribou with his fist but he also carries a saber.
With Bepo the connection is obvious since Nekomamushi even volunteered to keep Law's crew under his custody.
Because they're used goods and no amount of rope-play will let Paulie live up to Franky?
i dont underestand how anyone can do things like this, i mean, you have terabytes of every kind of porn and hentai of all kinds, whats the fucking point on reading something for butts? like all the moe shit, i just wont underestand it, seems pathetic and retarded
Not him, but I guess it doesn't hurt to moderate stuff.
A little erotism isn't bad, no need to turn it right away in porn. It's two different things.
Erotism is all about teasing, porn just gives it to you.
Why do you think strippers are a thing ? Because of the teasing, if they were naked from the start it'd have no interrest.
So yeah, you can read something for butts without wanting porn.
I find FT a bit too vulgar on that though, but to each their liking after all.
I have litterally nothing for moe shit though.
One Piece was constantly on #1 or #2 in the Jump rankings the whole last year, sales increased, ratings are as high as ever. Please realize already that you belong to a tiny minority that has no impact on anything with your shit opinion.
I had a dream last night that I checked out the latest One Piece episode, hoping to see Luffy vs Doflamingo and maybe a teaser for G4, only to watch 20 minutes of slow pans across peoples' shocked reactions and then a cut to Luffy standing in front of Doflamingo ready to fight before the end of the episode.
It was genuinely distressing.
WAITING ON MY NIGGA DRAGON
IF DRAGON DOESN'T SHOW UP THIS YEAR
IT'S GONNA BE A
Oh shit I never even realized that.
I wonder what it means anyway.
What the fuck are you on about, the two couldn't be further apart.
Nichijou is absurd Slice of Life and glorifies the subtle details of life, Fairy is in-your-face cliche shonen with zero depth.
Fact is: A clear majority still considers One Piece good enough to give it high rankings and ratings and to continue buying the volumes. Naruto and Bleach dropped in rankings and sales, One Piece didn't. Your Avatar and Star Wars example does not work here.
Not him but I could see the Star Wars example at least working. It's obviously an Appeal to Authority but not all fallacies are necessarily wrong.
>One Piece is the best selling manga of all time
>Star Wars is so popular that liking the series is synonymous with enjoying breathing and eating
Note that I, personally, do not care for Star Wars, and One Piece is my favorite manga, but tl;dr I can see that one specific example being relevant.
Of course, I also view all "shit since timeskip" posts to be shitposts with no backing, as they normally are.
Is it? I mean, snails are already established phones so interceptors and hizmos like that weren't far away. Making those things snails too would have been the logical choice, no?
But that's the brilliance of it.
You're already enveloped in the surreal aspects of the world.
You've forgotten how ridiculous it is that a snail would be a phone.
And yet, one step beyond this, snail phone interceptors exist.
And yet one step beyond even that, the snail phone interceptor blockers exist, and are snails themselves.
Look at this adorable face. Luffy looks so innocent.
Is this Doflamingo going to the hospital after being fucked up by Luffy?
That does not look like the way a healthy person would walk.
I could swear I read that chapter weeks ago. Whoa where am I?
No No I read this chapter the 26th of December almost 10 days ago on my favorite Piss reading site mangareader, translated by my favorite translator niggastream. You can't trick me!
Official release =/= niggascalations
Woah that got leaked unusually early then. Damn.
>only one person finds the mistranslation amusing
I think the crew is a fine size and it doesn't really make sense to have people join the crew past the halfway mark. I'd be surprised if Oda added anymore straight up crew members (the exception being Jimbei who luffy met before the halway point).
It just makes sense to me that One Piece part one would largely be about the crew gathering and affirming their loyalty to Luffy and Part 2 would be about the growing legend of the Straw Hat Pirates.
>But anon, Smoker was doomed to be a smoker when his parents gave him the name.
Everytime I hear someone say they think Dragon has a Dragon fruit I'm just like "Now way Oda is that lazy" and then I remember Smoker exists. I really wish they'd just come out and reveal Smoker's real name is Thad or something.
stop embarrassing yourself and read what you're replying to
Why do people hate Sakazuki so much? Was talking to my friends about the Admirals, told them that they're all pretty cool and the Sakazuki was my favorite and they called me a dick.
Then they started complaining that he killed Ace and had Squardo stab Whitebeard, but I thought that stuff was pretty cool.
I like him because he's easily the most competent Admiral. He got in Whitebeard's face more than one time and dealt good damage, even after massive quake injuries he still got back up and chased after the commanders himself and it took Shanks in his face to stop him.
Kizaru is lazy and lets pirates like all 11 rookie Supernovas get away, Aokiji is the same, Fuji lets pirates/revs like Doflamingo and Sabo walk all over him and even mass murderers like Jack manage to slip his grip.
>it took Shanks in his face to stop him
Doesn't this basically confirms Shanks is stronger than Whitebeard? The marines had the guts to fight Whitebeard, but against Shanks they didn't want any of it and immediately stopped.
Localization. By retaining the Shu instead of just changing it altogether, they can claim they are keeping the original intent and context by hybridizing it like some kinda chimera.
You know, like when Japanese songs use broken Engrish and doesn't make sense at all. Only this time there's no melody or nothing to tide it over.
No he killed a pirate, who was son of the pirate king, and second mate of the strongest man on earth. Ace is not a good pirate either. Hes a pirate we have seen has destroyed entire buildings by accident while being careless. Buildings owned by citizens who just wanted to eek out a survival in a harsh ocean-locked desert landscape.
Did you learn nothing from impel down?
Why does she destroy every thread she's posted in? Not just here, on ALL of 4chan.
>Hes a pirate we have seen has destroyed entire buildings by accident while being careless. Buildings owned by citizens who just wanted to eek out a survival in a harsh ocean-locked desert landscape.
>not a good pirate
sounds like a good pirate to me
Shanks is a mystery for me. He is one of my favorite character in the serie but we know almost nothing about him.
He have no devil fruit, he is a skilled swordman apparently but he is not a swordman, the only thing we know is that he is probably the strongest haki user. And yet, everyone respect/fear him.
WB was the strongest man, Kaidou is the strongest creature in the world so what is shanks exactly ?
I hope his power isn't just "strong haki attack".
By the way, the marine probably stop the fight because they didn't want to fight wb crew + shanks crew.
Yes, they retreated because everybody was tired while Shanks and his crew were fresh, and they lost a lot of manpower due to quakes and Luffy's CoA burst.
btw are you using google translate or something?
Shanks is a friendly guy. I am betting he is weaker then many of his crew. It was absolutely confirmed he was weaker then mihawk.
Sure he has CoC, but I bet he will not be a fighter, just a really good guy like luffy, who everyone likes.
So when are the SHs going to realise Nami's had Big Mam's vivre card all along, and that she's not a big meanie at all but a lovely fat lady who eats candies?
>implying that was a real fight
>implying we got to see dick other then a CoC haki clash
>implying the CoC clash between luffy and doffy was not 10x more impressive
Jesus fucking Christ kid
I kind if feel Mihawk's title is a sham, it's confirmed he never fought Shanks again after the loss of his arm, so how can anyone call him the strongest swordsman, he won't fight the one man that will beat him.
Shanks has even challenged him to a duel as recently as two years ago, but Mihawk refused to fight.
>Shanks WAS strong. Then he bet his arm on a new generation.
It's kind of sobering that no matter how much of a badass you are in One Piece, you can still get maimed or killed by something as simple as disease or bad luck.
>people think Shanks isnt dumb stronk
have you not been reading?
he stopped a war by just showing up and saying stop
that shit was so long ago by now he can probably haki fuck your mom to death
anyone else seriously bummed at Magellan?
doesnt get to do much
and now I doubt we'll see him for a long time
what's the point aside from him being cool for half an arc?
I am arguing that shanks was NEVER stronger then mihawk even with both arms. I am not talking about after he loses one.
Reminder, when shanks had both arms, he still managed to: get fucked up by Blackbeard, lose his arm to a sea king.
Oda never gave evidence one way or the other that when mihawk and shanks used to fight, that one or the other would win.
You seem to think that Shanks of course won. I say oda loves defying expectations.
>Called out Whitebeard for playing house with his 'sons' instead of being a goddamn pirate
>Bitched out Ace and punched the fuck out of him
>Left a wicked scar on the main character
>Rained down lava on entire fleets
>Good at his job and puts the boot to those pirate scum
>Just walked up to Whitebeard and PUNCHED A HOLE IN HIM!
Praise be to best Admiral.
I think it'd be funny if Kaido's DF (if he has one) is one that gives him the survival abilities of a really hard to kill, but relatively mundane, animal like a waterbear or jellyfish.
To remind the viewer that even this devilish-looking poison man can be a genuine agent of justice and that while the Marines are the antagonists of that arc, a majority of pirates are still mega-bastards who need to be kept away from the world if not outright destroyed.
Hannyabal said it best:
That is fine as well. I just do not think shanks won.
Them being equal actually makes more sense. That way by refusing to fight, mihawk is honorably making it so shanks never loses to him. That shank's record at tieing the greatest swordsman in the world will always be upheld.
Keep in mind, Mihawk WANTS someone to beat him. He has said as much multiple times.
I'm fairly sure Kaido will have some kind of zoan known for it's toughness. But I don't think it'd be something silly. A legit, badass zoan. This is the first one I found after googling and it kinda fits. Kaido is the king of the beasts, he's gone a pretty huge fur coat, impervious to mortal weapons.
It could also possibly tie in to Elbaf for the future.
Maybe it's a case of Mihawk being a better swordsman in how he had superior skill and technique. Like, maybe Shanks could cut a pirate ship in twain, but he couldn't do it as cleanly or with as much precision as Mihawk.
But as the opening chapters of One Piece showed us, Shanks fights dirty. So that might have given him an edge over the "honorable" Mihawk during their duels.
Oh, yea, I don't think Shanks won either. I think they constantly fought solely because neither of them won. Like the Giants. Mihawk was probably quite sad after East Blue.
Now the only reason they hang out is to celebrate their same birthdays.
>Strength was with his hands in all that he did and the feet of the strong god were untiring. From his shoulders grew a hundred heads of a snake, a fearful dragon, with dark, flickering tongues, and from under the brows of his eyes in his marvellous heads flashed fire, and fire burned from his heads as he glared. And there were voices in all his dreadful heads which uttered every kind of sound unspeakable; for at one time they made sounds such that the gods understood, but at another, the noise of a bull bellowing aloud in proud ungovernable fury; and at another, the sound of a lion, relentless of heart; and at another, sounds like whelps, wonderful to hear; and again, at another, he would hiss, so that the high mountains re-echoed.
Fuck, Typhon sounds pretty good for Kaido too.
Dude's got snake like hair, cruel as fuck, had hundred heads, was winged,
Oh, right. I thought you meant Shanks would poison Mihawk's drink or feed him laxatives or some other stuff. Yea, after fighting with Buggy for a few years, Shanks probably picked up some good tricks.
I think he's awesome because of the sheer amount of determination. He got the shit kicked out of him during the War and kept getting back up.
His power though is too B-tier (not in terms of utility, just in that it's not "cool enough") to have him be a big player for long so his downfall for something worse to come about is probably going to happen in the near future. After all, one of the first big acts we've seen him do post-Time Skip is hire an admiral who outright disobeys him.
When they go to find Sanji, and Nami thinks that an ally could help them, unwittingly leading them to Big Mom and Sanji
You know what happens when akainu actually goes all out right? None of the admirals actually went all out at marineford. They would have destroyed the entire base. Look at punk hazard.
I hope Sanji fools her into eating a "medicinal candy" he and Chopper concoct that purges her of all her toxins.
It makes her healthy and hot, but it also robs her of her vast size and strength, making her unrecognizable to her own crew.
I thought Akainu's Meteor Volcano, Giant Fist and Hellhound were cool as fuck. I think Sakazuki has one of the scariest powers and move set. The dude is intimidation incarnate.
Says who? That's just your opinion. Magma isn't final boss tier? After dominating the protaganist's brother and murdering him?
Exactly. I'm not sober.
Doffy's fruit was undoubtedly final boss tier, just because of the sheer amount of bullshit he could pull off with it.
I agree. I loved Doffy's fruit, especially when he showcased Overheat.
I prefer Powermanga's translations largely because of that. I am forced to read Mangastream's translations now that I am caught up but I cringe at some of their subjective choices.
>And here I was wondering why there's so much gay fanart between Wanda and Nami now.
just like in metroid, acid is the strongest
She's the only big name powerhouse left from the Roger era.
Why didn't she make Admiral when two spots opened up?
Nepotism. Or maybe she refused the position.
Either way, as evidenced by his tattoos, name, and appearance, he probably wants the upper echelons as weebo as possible.
Big Mom being Lola's mom would seem like the most logical conclusion that isn't pulled out of thin air more than anything. I don't think she'd just be a lovely fat lady though. I mean, we've seen her eat her subordinates.
I have a theory about the equivalent of 'power levels' in One Piece.
Obviously people get stronger and stronger as the Grand Line goes on, but I think people in the New World level out. There are so many powerful pirates, but honestly there doesn't seem much difference between them besides a few obvious outliers like the Yonkou or Garp or the Admirals
That's why I reckon most people are in the 'world class' category - as in most decent fighters in the Grand Line could fight most other decent fighters, like Yonkou bannersmen vs top tier Vice Admirals vs Supernovae. They might not be world class in all their aspects, like endurance/speed/strength/???? but they might be in some, enough to put them on the world stage.
So I'd say Burgess has world class strength, but not much else. G2 Luffy has world class speed, G3 Luffy has world class destructive power, and you can go on like this for ages.
Basically there's a lot less difference in strength in the New World and people are on a much more even ground than in Paradise.
Everyone remember to do your best to appreciate Penguin today!
Doffy will certain get a lot of hits in but all Teach has to do is move his hand. In a realistic world, Teach would be tied up by millions and millions of white string so ge can't even breath. Maybe his darkness can get rid of the strings but it's a little different from fire. But One Piece wise, Teach.
And considering how both Garp and Sengoku were the strongest marines during Roger's Age there is absolutely no reason to believe that Tsuru is.
If it's pre-timeskip then clearly Doflamingo wins(even against Teach with the gura-gura) but Yonko Teach should be quite a bit above Doflamingo.
>Tsuru made Doffy back off after shooting Rosinante
Yeah a Doffy that has spent all of his life in North Blue and was obviously far weaker than he was during the current timeline.
>and she was also the one that warned him to behave during the Shichibukai meeting.
Yeah and he still kept fucking witht hose VAs even after Tsuru's warning,he only stoped when Sengoku entered the room.
>Yeah and he still kept fucking witht hose VAs even after Tsuru's warning,he only stoped when Sengoku entered the room.
Much like he still tried to go for Smoker after Kuzan told him to back off. Doffy just pushes his luck a lot in some situations, plus it wasnt like his life or even status was at risk just because he was messing around with the VAs during the meeting.´
Either way I'm not saying that Tsuru is the strongest asset the marines have or something like that, I'm just saying that she must be more than just a super tactician.
Yeah she probably is one of the stronger VA.
>Much like he still tried to go for Smoker after Kuzan told him to back off.
Those are two completely different situations, int he first one Doffy simply fucked around with two VAs in the middle of marineford, he wasn't actually serious about starting anything while in the second one he went afte Smoker because he knew his secret.
Doflamingo may not be admiral level but he is is pretty close to it, i'd put put him around the same level as Sengoku.
>I am arguing that shanks was NEVER stronger then mihawk even with both arms. I am not talking about after he loses one.
And there's zero evidence to support this
>Reminder, when shanks had both arms, he still managed to: get fucked up by Blackbeard, lose his arm to a sea king.
He got a tiny scar
Who the fuck yells "Castle Gate" in the middlw of a fight anyway? Not to be a weeb but goddamn that sounds wrong. I think attack names should be like actual names, just untranslated. Like, Monkey, Dragon, Joker, etc.
That's the thing. Demon Slash sounds great but hearing/picturing Zoro growling "Oni Giri" is so satisfying.
I always assumed she was above the admirals in rank. Did it not say that her rank was marine Tactician?
Admiral is the highest fighting position, but it was Tsuru who told all the forces, including the admirals, where to be and what to do during marineford.
No, it said her rank was VA and her title is "Tactician". She's likely similar to John Giant in holding a different position than regular VAs but she is definitely not above admirals
I looked it up, apparently her title is Tactician, her rank is vice-admiral, and then her position in the marines is Great Staff Officer.
I have no fucking idea anymore. Fucking oda.
Jack would be the biggest fucking retard in history if he turned into a mammoth in that fight. He'd get his ass thrown into the sea in seconds. But a hybrid form vs a mini Golden Buddha would be cool.
Kill yourself you subhuman nigger, or at the very least take your nigspeak back to reddit.
>tfw there are shitskins posting in the same thread as you
IDK bro, Jacks boarding party smashes 2 of the ships together and lashes them tightly, and then we have a giant fight in the middle of a stormy sea.
I could see it being amazing, but tbqh I do not think we will ever see the fight, merely the fallout from it.
>zoro is vice captain
I lol eery time.
We know of exactly 2 people confirmed vice-captain in OP. Marco and Reyleigh.
Marco is a navigator like nami. I will admit Rayleigh seems more like zoro when he is dicking around.
However every interaction we have seen in a flashback with rayleigh and his crew, he was acting like nami, not zoro.
Zoro did not take command in Jaya, that was nami. Zoro did not take command in Skypeia, that was nami. Zoro did not take control in alabasta, or in TB, or in EL.
He did take command one time in W7 though with the ussop situation, but luffy was there as well.
>Their personality is similar! That must mean their ranks are too!
Again, everytime Luffy isn't around and sometimes even when he is around, Zoro takes command. He keeps the crew in check. Nami just makes sure the crew doesn't die when on water. Everyone follows her commnds because she is the navigator and that's her job and she does it best.
Zoro's the second-in-command, and what you said is exactly true, when it came to the overall crew. At the time, it was an outside force. When it became internal, he was the voice of reason, when Usopp and Sanji got into it after Luffy took on Aokiji, when Luffy defeated Usopp, when he and Nami lamented over Usopp not being there, and most importantly, when he took in Luffy's pain and told him to take things seriously in the New World. Nami may take the lead when it comes to money and navigating the ship, but in terms of the crew's well-being, if Luffy isn't there, Zoro takes on that role.
So you argue the first mate is not the person who gets listened too when shit hits the fan, but the moral center of the crew? The first mate is the heart?
I call bullshit. Nami lacks morals, and is far less serious most of the time, but when shit hits the fan, and her and zoro give contradictory orders, who do you think the crew would listen to? Seriously.
Nami may be able to handle things like navigating the ship from danger, but when it came to personal affairs within the crew, she pretty much was powerless to do so, and relied on her emotions rather than the honor behind said decisions. Usopp coming back was on his shoulders after he went and left on his own terms, and to take him back so easily would sully the respect and position that Luffy holds as captain, regardless of who was right or wrong. Nami couldn't have said what he said, because she sympathizes with Usopp on a personal level.
Zoro, however knows what it's like to be a responsible leader and voice of reason, which is why he called out Chopper on being a man when he lost the Davy Back challenge. Nami protested against him doing that.
Yah, just like her not caring about poor beggars was a gag, just like her trying to extort money from people who were bound and gagged was a gag, just like her saying they should just kill the witnesses was a gag.
Being a gag does not mean it is not her personality. Nami like kids, and everyone else who is not her crew or hometown can fuck off.
One Piece is more than an action series. Again, most of those are played off for laughs, and while it IS a personality trait she's know for, it's not her entire personality. If that were the case, Usopp would have gotten beaten up for losing 2/3rds of the money they got from Skypiea.
>wanted to help Gaimon
>wanted to help Usopp
>helped Vivi, even after hearing her country was broke as shit
>forgave Hatchi and bore no ill will towards Fishmen
>willing to pay for Caimie
Probably missed a couple.
Are there any good One Piece fics out there? Most of the ones I see are just Ace/Luffy/Sabo fucking each other.
There was a pretty good one where the Supernova made up the third superpower and the Shichibukai made a crew, but that hasn't updated in a year.
But you're saying she lacks morals, when it was shown she doesn't just care about money, or anything revolving around it. Again, most of those traits you see are played for laughs.
Both pointed out examples that show she has morals and another with Lola and Absalom.
Exactly what I said, it's played as a joke. As in, the joke is Nami not caring about her crew. Compared to other events, that really can't be taken seriously.
She was willing to give away all their treasure for a mermaid they knew for barely anytime, who wanted the octodick of the guy who was part of the pirate crew she hated for years.
Forget the East Blue stuff, that is probably the biggest "morally good" thing Nami has done, considering her personality.
>she was in the beginning.
And she still is. In FI, in PH and now in Zou
Young Tsuru was a goddess though. And considering all the fanart, I'm sure even an old Tsuru with Doffy doujin would be adorable.
>Are you a wikifag? It's already confirmed Shanks wasn't weakened by losing an arm
Argue your point, or admit you have to move the goalposts you faggot. It most certainly did NOT imply that he was just as strong.
>relied on her emotions rather than the honor behind said decisions.
Not into this argument about first mates, just pointing out how funny is that by OP standards, honor driven decicions aren't emotional and irrational.
Why is forgiveness of those who wronged you moral?
Why is forgiveness of those who killed your mother moral?
Why is harming yourself, in order to help those who have, and will in the future hurt you, moral?
It seems to me that nami is extremely immoral, she is spitting on the pain of her village. Spitting on the memory of the dead all over her island killed by arlong and his crew.
>Bepo grabbing Namis boob
Is he crying because she told him how much she charges?
Pirates during the Golden Age of Piracy elevated the rank of quartermaster to much higher powers and responsibilities than it had aboard any merchant or naval vessel. The quartermaster was often granted a veto power by a pirate ship's "Articles of Agreement", in order to create an officer who could counterbalance the powers of the pirate captain. Pirate quartermasters, like pirate captains, were usually elected by their crews.
It was often the quartermaster's responsibility to lead the pirate boarding party when coming aboard another ship. This was usually done from the quarter deck which was the place where two ships touched during the boarding attack. The quartermaster ranked higher than any officer aboard the ship except the captain himself, and could veto the captain's decisions whenever the ship was not chasing a prize or engaged in battle. The quartermaster also was chiefly responsible for discipline, assessing punishments for crewmen who transgressed the articles. Several quartermasters, notably Calico Jack Rackham, became captains after the previous captain was killed or deposed.
Although a minority of pirate scholars dismiss the accepted version of the pirate quartermaster's importance, it is well supported by the extant secondary sources such as Charles Johnson, David Cordingly and Botting, and overwhelmingly borne out by the primary sources, including Ringrose, Dampier, Snelgrave, Trott, and George Roberts.
Sounds like nami is the vice-captain to me.
This one had Ace being Luffy's brother, a cute girl, and something similar to G8 in that anime filler.
Also WB's flag in this cover story included a svastika, so theres that.
For individual pages, I'd say the one with Iceburg getting his new secretary, or that recent one with the kids of Syrup village getting the "God Ussop" bounty poster.
Not a story per se, but I liked the kind of "where are they now" of all the characters, post timeskip.
Garp would've cried tears of Joy to see him wearing that.
Not exactly a cover story but..
Otters, vivi. It ticks boxes for me.
Ok since so many are asking, here is Sanji's back story.
He's from royalty. But when he was born, each eyebrow twirled differently, so they abandoned him.
Everyone around him always made fun of his opposite twirls, so he combed his hair to cover one of them at all times.
So why is he wanted alive?
>mfw even Duval had symetrical eyebrows
