Why does he always have the shittiest fights in the series?
Why do you say that? I loved his fight with Chu, his team fight with Chopper against the mole lady and the fat guy, his fight against Perona, and especially his fight against Luffy.
He's a joke character and he tends to be paired with other joke characters, but still I think it's a very subjective question. I personally like fights that rely on using tricks, so for me Usopp's fights are among the best. I find Zoro's fights the most boring, since he ussually just headbutts against the opponent with his plot armor.
>fights his friends seriously
>jobs against real opponents
The cool thing about vs Perona is that a big emphasis was put on what she was doing and how she was doing. Honestly I thought it was cool because I felt I was with Usopp in trying to figure her powers out. People quickly gloss over Thriller Bark and only mention Oars or Kuma and skim over other standout moments like Usopp fighting Perona and Robin getting so close to defeating Moria in one blow.
It reminded me of a Jojo fight, it's great when the fights become so mysterious. However, I think the fight with Perona is very well liked, the first two replies mentioned it.
>has to outsmart and use his arsenal creatively to defeat his enemies
>this is a bad thing
You already have "who punches the hardest?!" fights with Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. Why should Usopp also have fights like that?
>you have to choose and read only one manga
>You already have "who punches the hardest?!" fights with Luffy, Zoro and Sanji
It's kinda sad that it has come to this, because their fights weren't like that in the beggining.
As others anons stated, his fights aren't too bad if you can handle the tricks and gimmicks.
Nami in the other hand, only got Ms DF and Khalifa. First one she won almost on accident, and second one was ok, altought I don't know why she had to fight specifically the only girl, and weakest member of the enemy crew.
I don't care about Nami being a girl or not. She's a goddamn weather manipulator, a supossedly very smart fighter and got the sorcery clima tact, I need a good fight!
>Chopper and Usopp vs Mr 4 and Miss Merry Christmas
>not the best fight in the entire series
shit was hype in manga and anime
I'm okay with her having no fights, because her role clearly wasn't fighting and we already have a lot of them, but she could use her gimmicks (clima tact and thievery) more often.
What I would like to see in One Piece is a fucking naval battle. It would give the weakest characters (the navigator and the sharpshooter) a very good chance to shine.
>he actually thinks Berserk is still a masterpiece
Isn't it obvious that Miura has no clue were to direct his story anymore?
>comes to Non-Berserk thread to shitpost
>"guys your manga sucks read Berserk"
But somehow we are the cancer. It's a good thing Miura is such a lazy hack, otherwise we would have to deal with fucking edgelords like you on a daily basis.
>all of Robin's wasted potential
Damn you Oda, why did you turn out this way. I was so hype and consequently so mad during the end of Dressrosa.
At this point I think that every character has wasted potential. Oda can't manage a huge cast like he used to do when there were less characters and the plot was more focused on adventure.
Come on now. Don't even try to tell me Berserk is still as good as it was during Golden Age. And that whole seaweed pirate shit was Miura obviously stalling because he did not know what to do next.
That's way too true anon. The fact that half of the bloody Strawhats didn't show up for well over a year of real life time is just appalling, not to mention the fact that I couldn't give a shit about the vast majority of the characters introduced in Dressrosa.
Hopefully Law fucks off for a few months now.
the exact same thing can be said about dressrosa. oh amd punk hazard. wait, fishman island too. in fact literally every arc since water 7. i know this now in retrospect after reading an actual comic like berserk. i mean i only got into one piece because i was a hot topic shirt wearing fag who only knew one piece, naruto, dbz and lucky star. sure i deludid myself into thinking it was the best but best of 4 turned out to be shit overall
>implying youre not lying to yourself
fufu go fly a kite kid
Where is your valid criticism? All you did was acting superior because you seem to think reading Berserk turns you into a manga connoisseur and then getting mad as fuck when people give you shit for it.
>come into thread
check these dubs senpai
It's filled with rape and gore, it's pretentious, it's going nowhere, it has steadily declined in quality after Albion. You can maybe dispute those points, but they aren't buzzwords.
Your posts on the other hand are barely legible, and full of unwarranted insults because you clearly can't come up with anything substantial to say.
>Isn't it obvious that Miura has no clue were to direct his story anymore?
That's not the issue at all kid.
1. Fanboys are into moe and fag right now.
2. Reoccurring sickness, probably cancer.
3. The manga is entering it's last story arc.
The dude knows what he wants to do, the biggest problem is the Berserk team is still relatively small and they focus way too much on artistic detail.
He quite literally wants each page to look near perfect before he will allow it to be put it.
Not all producers and directors want to mass produce Naruto-tier mangas.
Well, then you also should have noticed that unlike Miuara, Oda at least has a clear plan where to take his story. There has been a ton of set up in the last 12 chapters alone, not to mention all the plot points and important characters Oda introduced in the last 3 arcs, from Shirahoshi to Caesar, Kinemon, Momo, Kanjuro, Burgess, Sabo, Doflamingo. It is almost hard to keep track of all this stuff and how it intertwines with plot points that were already set up hundreds of chapters ago. Everything lead somewhere or paved the way for future developments. People can talk shit all they want but if they say Oda lost his touch when it comes to storytelling they are not even deluded, they are just liars.
>give up on dubs
>come back and see this
This is the OP thread. If you like another anime more, thats fine. Go discuss it in its thread.
OP is interesting and funny enough for some people to talk about it here. Thats all there is to it. If you are so patrician, maybe try reading an actuall book.
>but there is nothing wrong with reading manga
Just as there is nothing wrong with reading this specific manga.
>new crew member has a crush on Robin
>ends up being her bodyguard
>new gag is that he ''fights'' with Sanji a lot
>she actually treats him better than Sanji and that makes him mad
its so stupid it might actually happen, this shit writes itself
They want free (You)s, and people are generously providing.
The Merry was impossible to repair. Usopp just felt guilty because he lost the money and didn't want to back down, but when he was alone with Franky he had to admit that it was impossible to save the Merry and that it wasn't just Luffy being an asshole.
>claims he is not a hot topic wearing fag anymore
>now reads a manga pretty much every edgy teen has latched onto
>people gather to talk about work a
>guy comes in and tells everybody how work b is better, and that they should stop reading a, since b exists.
>“w/e, this is the group to discuss a, man. Anyway I don't think b's author knows what to do with his story "
>autistic fit ensues. There is no arguments or satisfaction.
The same with anything. Your digression was pointless.
you might as well say that reading and appreciating the stranger or dante's inferno is edgy. do you have any idea how retarded you are? just because edgelords like something and give it a bad reputation doesn't mean it's bad
Then why the fuck would that fact be appalling? It's common in literature with a large main ensemble to focus on one or few characters while the rest fuck off and do something else. All you'd have to do is just read mainstream ones like LotR and Asofai and you'd know that.
>People are still responding to bait
Not once did he put forth a real argument in defending Berserk and critiquing One Piece. He's obviously just looking for (yous). Stop replying to shit posting.
>screams a technique's name
>uses a different one
I like that his tricks can be so silly and that he relies not only on his own wit but the fact that almost everybody else in OP is more or less retarded.
That depends on the series, but not really for adventure epics like OP. For LotR we're following Frodo most of time much like in One Piece with Luffy. There was no way Oda could've fit in all the strawhats while giving spotlight to all the new fleet members too at one time. It sounds more like a smart decision knowing his limits than an appalling one.
Usopp got one of the best fights in the series, nigga
>He could have closed Dressrosa earlier instead of dragging it that much.
It was not really dragged out as a whole. It is only this long because Oda gave so much focus on the future SH fleet members. The whole coloseum part, all of them fighting together while Luffy was on his way to Doffy, some of them getting their own fights and them helping Luffy at the end while he had to regain his haki was part of their introduction.
I hope that Sanji gets to fight Luffy in Zou or the next arc for something related to his past. Maybe not out of his own will so that it isn't the same as this.
Luffy vs Usopp, Luffy vs Zoro and Luffy vs Franky have all been very enjoyable.
Except for the fact that both The Idiot and Brothers Karamazov are written by Dostoyevsky.
Is Berserk written by Oda? No you fucking idiot.
Your example is bad and you're also clinically retarded to boot.
Threadly reminder that Robin's last proper fight was before 4chan was ever created.

>mfw waiting for Dragon arc/flashback
Why is this thread so full of /v/? Because daytime + weekend thread? Goddamn.
Ussop should feed his slingshot a DF.
I'm torn with this BB v. Dragon thing. On one hand, I think the BB crew is becoming the final obstacle that SH will face, so it should be for the best if they win. On the other, I don't want Sabo to be Ace 2.0, and Dragon shouldn't job in his first real on screen battle
and Koala is there, and I want her to be allright.
So in summary, I don't want anyone to lose.
So I'd been avoiding those movies since they have no real ties to the One Piece plot at all but I was so bored from all these breaks that I ended up watching Strong World and Film Z. They weren't totally awful but I do have one question based off of Film Z.
Everyone constantly talks about how Weeble cut off Z's arm but I don't know how anyone got this from the dialogue. I watched the dub instead of the sub so maybe it was a mistranslation but I felt it was very clearly implied to be an older Warlord. Like it couldn't be Mihawk (unless he has a Devil Fruit ability we don't know about), but I don't see why it wouldn't be Doflamingo or Kuma or something like that.
Like I think people assume the Warlords at the beginning of the series have all held their titles for a lot longer than they actually have. We saw Ace was offered the position just a year and a half before the series started so it's not like they weren't appointing people recently.
I think the idea that he only began planning his vendetta shortly before the movie is ridiculous. He would have had to build up his forces and strength first and see the pirate he hated getting away with his crimes. Weeble was a brand new Warlord at the time of that movie, there's no way it triggered Z into action that quickly.
That said, I realize since it's non-canon, the Warlord wasn't mentioned because it actually never happened but for closure's sake, I think it would make most sense to be Doflamingo, given the clues.
>Ussop should feed his slingshot a DF.
My fucking brother. I've been saying this for ages too. It would totally fit, what with Black Kabuto already eating plants as is.
I think Dragon needs to win because 1) as you said, he doesn't need to lose during his first on-screen battle, and 2) I still think Blackbeard needs to be humiliated a bit. I agree his crew is likely going to be the final non-WG enemy the SHs fight but I would love for Blackbeard to be reminded that there are still real monsters out in the world--or as Loflumingo articulated it, "even the Revolutionaries have formidable members". Dragon HAS to be strong to hold the position that he has, and to hold it for so long.
I still think Dragon has to be in the top five CoC users in the world, purely for the somewhat-alluded to passive effect of such insane charisma and inspiring loyalty.
I think BB has to lose, but in a way that still drastically changes the course of history and maybe even ends up with a profit for him but it will still be him clearly being the weaker of the two leaders. It makes the most sense given his previous fights and even just what we've seen of Burgess post-time skip and all the build-up the Revolutionaries and specifically Dragon have had.
Here is what I think will happen:
>Blackbeard is overconfident, gets beat down hard and has to make a hasty retreat, losing one of his members (likely one of the ones he got from Impel Down)
>shifts his "steal a bunch of DFs and give them to my crew" plan into overdrive
>various side-plots crop up moving forward about mysterious deaths, all being DF users
>eventually Blackbeard tries to attack Revolutionaries again, is successful this time
>more incentive for 'Luffy vs Blackbeard' being the ultimate battle for Pirate King
>more incentive for 'Luffy vs Blackbeard' being the ultimate battle for Pirate King
Eh I don't really like this part mainly because Luffy and Dragon aren't that concerned with each other, aside from Dragon saving Luffy in Loguetown. Wouldn't feel right for Luffy to fight Blackbeard because of that so I think Blackbeard's interactions with Luffy and Dragon should have no influence upon the other, but that's just my opinion.
It was said in the timeline that the Shichibukai got the position 1 year ago. So, it's either Buggy, Law or Weevil. Law would have been like 16 or something when it happened so Weevil is the logical choice.
Daily reminder that fan fiction is garbage tier
>AKA Ace 2.0
Why the fuck would you want that? And it wouldn't make sense anyway seeing how the situation with the Vivre cards are switched now. If anything Sabo would have to come to Luffy's rescue rather than the other way around.
It'd be great if Luffy was getting his ass kicked and Sabo or Dragon got there to rescue him, but couldn't rescue the crew in the process. This would lead to Luffy having to get the Fleet to come to his aid to rescue his crew and wage a war at whoever was defeating him, while the crew attack them from inside.
For the longest time I avoided starting One Piece because of this stupid fucking looking long nose joke character who fights with a fucking slingshot all while actually being on the main crew.
After reading everything, he's now in my top 3 favorite characters. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell that happened.
Oda's fucking black magic.
I love this series, but objectively, I still think its crazy how popular it is. Its main character is a fucking rubber pirate, who is basically dumb as bricks unless the plot needs him to be otherwise. Its borderline a comedy manga where the author almost completely just does what he wants every week. Half of the foreshadowing that takes place is almost too good to be true, like coincidences. And yet, just look at the sales, fanbase, etc. Myself included.
Oda's sold his soul to the devil, I swear.
Usopp could easily be the main character of the story. I'd say he is the most fleshed out character in the crew, but I feel like his development was ignored in Dressrosa, though I guess you could argue that his memories of Robin disappearing fucked up something about his Water 7 and Enies Lobby memories.
Naw. At this point he has a huge obligation to help the Strawhats with anything. His desired target actually was Doflamingo after all, not really Kaido. Kaido was just a good lure to get Luffy to join the alliance.
Plus it's his fault Sanji got in this mess to begin with. He's the one who put the burden of Ceasar into their hands without really figuring what they were going to do with him, yet knowing he's still a hot target for numerous powerful parties.
>but I feel like his development was ignored in Dressrosa
Completely disagree. Because of his development in Dressrosa to me it's likely we'll never see Sogeking again. He finally was true to himself and admitted "I'm Usopp! Sniper of the Strawhat pirates!"
No more hiding behind a mask, being true to himself.
Look at Rayleighs quote on haki: "Haki" is a power that lies dormant in all the world's creatures... "Presence", "fighting spirit" and "intimidation"... It is not different from the things that humans can naturally sense such as these... 'The act of not doubting'. That is strength!
The act of not doubting, Sogeking and it's mask is a form of doubt.
Granted Usopp did run away from Trebol and Sugar, but that should be expected because Usopps goal of being a brave warrior of the sea is literally END OF STORY Usopp. Yeah sure he got better over the timeskip but he's not there yet, being a coward and a liar is one of his core personality traits and it will no dissapear in a day. The very fact that he turned around and fought in the end was development.
Luffy may be an idiot, but he isnt trying to build a rocket to explore deep space. He is a guy looking for adventure, and by god he is a genius at doing that.
Oda knows what he wants to do when he does it. he has had it figured to the end for a while now.
>Author wants to do whatever he wants every week.
Seems perfect for a story about a pirate.
I really hope we see Sogeking again, but not in the same way we've seen him so far. He's far too great to be just forgotten, and brave warrior Usopp should be part Sogeking, after all, he is still Usopp.
He has admitted himself that he knows what he wants to do at the end, but as he goes by he has just got to improvise and play with what he's already done. It is foreshadowing for some things, but others he just rereads and picks up plot threads from earlier.
We can see how not everything is planned with Trebol's fruit having contradictions in its workings, and how the crew supposedly didn't know how to use Coup de Burst when they had just used it to escape from Doffy.
I think you're right, but a scene of Sogeking telling him, inside of his head like with Perona, "you don't need me anymore, I'll leave but I'll always be... in Sniper Island", or something like that would have been nice. Sogeking was great.
It's what would make sense. And it's always Franky or Usopp that sets it up. Can't remember when, probably on the way to FI, someone, presumably Franky, asks Usopp to set it up while he steers. I might be complely making that up but I'm 99% that happened.
And lets not forget that pic with Oda's sckethbooks. One for each Whole Cake Island, the revolutionaries, and G4; meaning that there is enough material from it to match two large groups of important characters.
Thats almost a total confirmation on the other forms beside Boundman.
An alternative form of G4 besides boundman, but yeah, thats not fitting to Oda's style.
This. Sogeking is probably my favorite part of OP, and we really need to hear that themesong one more time.
>Blackbeard vs Revolutionaries is gonna happen
Burgess is the number 1 captain of BB's ships and he can't beat Sabo. Unless BB shows up after Kaido is defeated and steals his fruit this is a losing battle for him.
no he means he is literally captain of the first fleet in Blackbeard's Army. likely cause he kinda been Blackbeard's first mate, with him from the beginning and all that.
the most powerful member of BB's crew prolly Shiliew. Paw Power prolly SJW. but on that note, pound for pound, Burgess is pretty damn strong phsyically.
reminder that in post Water 7 saga, Burges literally lifted up an entire building. leaped up top another building and slammed it down on Ace.
if Burgess is Zoro levels strong, thats not a bad thing.
And thats Ace. Ace was pretty OP until he decided to face off with a rules haxer and an admiral wielding the superior version of his DF. i mean he was a 550mil pirate and 2nd Commander of WB Pirates after all.
Well If Teach can > Dragon, then like Burgess and Shiliew can afford to double team sabo. then really just got like Ivankov and Inazuma to worry about since I dont see koala or Hack doing much to the rest of BB's crew.
I feel like most people seem to ignore Usopp's main development throughout the series. It's not about him becoming unafraid of shit. He'll always be scared. That's a character trait that'll always stick with him because in order to be brave in the first place, you need fear to overcome it.
The main development with Usopp and what we saw mainly in Dressrosa is Usopp becoming less self-centered. His willingness to overcome his fear and be brave isn't about making himself look good anymore. When he took down Sugar the second time, he didn't care about people calling him great or awesome, or if he was acknowledged for his accomplishments. All he cared about was if Luffy was okay.
>There's a difference between being Brave and being Fearless
This is what everyone forgets. Usopp has been Brave since he was introduced. But he will never be fearless. And that's fine because he doesn't have to be fearless.
he HAD Bartholomew. but we dont know too much of their members. frankly Dragon (presumably) sabo and ivankov are the only real monsters they got. id say Inazuma prolly at least around Sanji or Franky levels. white Koala and hack are about like... Kinemon levels. and Hack i injured.
they honestly dont seem like the biggest organization. just well operated.
I will just say that I respectfully disagree and I quite honestly think that's stupid as fuck. If the Revolutionaries was just Dragon and his chumps then they wouldn't be able to take down country after country. And if it was just Kuma and Iva-chan then Dragon would say "Call Iva". Not to mention Koala's line about them being an issue the last time they were gathered. He obvioualy has more people. I cannot comprehend why you would think it'd be just be 4 guys.
I want a Bon-chan rescue arc.
Somehow word gets out that Bon-chan is alive, gets in to the news papers, Luffy's balls tingle, and they set sail for Impel Down with the fleet. Kinda like a reverse Buster Call with less explosions.
I just need my Bon-chan fix.
What are you, a fucking heathen?
I think this captures Usopp's character perfectly
>finish up thriller bark in the anime
>decide to read the manga from that point on
>too used to the anime's pacing
>feel like i'm blowing through chapters way too fast
>stop reading or watching altogether
its not that he lost. obviously he lose. its that he lost as badly as he did. not a bit of damage. taken down quickly. hardly even a fight.
thats what jobbing is. Its somebody beating somebody else that could at least put up a fight, but crushing them.
a weaker person beating a stronger person is called an Upset.
But Doffy was just that strong. We have no powerlevels to gauge if Sanji was capable of hurting Doffy. All we know is that he didn't, which must mean Sanji just wasn't strong enough, thus not a jobber, despite whatever imaginary power tier you put him in.
Just saying Sanji is strong doesn't mean jack shit.
>the character Oda chose to parody the absent nigger "father"
The day that filth dies in the manga will be glorious.
I think the issue is that Robin's power is best for an antagonist rather than a protagonists.
I mean, she can sprout her hands, ANYWHERE she wants. So either it's a fight she's going to easily win or she can't do anything.
I honestly can't of a way of giving her an interesting fight now that she has even newer abilities.
Usopp is easily one of the worst fighters alongside Nami, but he has some of the best fights because of it. He can't just run without a plan like Luffy, Sanji, Zoro.
>Robin getting so close to defeating Moria in one blow
This is why Robin never gets any fights and will forever be in a support role. If you have no way to avoid Clutch, you instantly lose.
Usopp steps up when it really counts is basically the deal.
When he's literally as brave as Luffy/Zoro/etc in terms of facing any opponent or situation- he'll have fulfilled his dream which is to be a "Brave man of the sea".
I hope Yasopp doesn't turn out to be a useless pussy who is a bigger liar than Usopp or somehow dead or something when they finally meet Shanks.
Father Vs. Son duel.
>in the bible adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowlge after it was given to them by the Devil
>Ohara contained the legendary Tree of Knowlege, the worlds biggest and oldest library
>When the WG found out the Oharans were studying the poneglyph in its roots, they massacred the researchers and burned the tree to the ground to keep them from finding a weapon
>YFW the devil fruits were invented on Ohara and were grown from the tree itself. The method may have been encoded on the Poneglyph itself
Nah anon they grew from Adam and Eve as well as the Tree of Knowledge
Z's arm was cut off like 10 years ago, and the guy who cut off his arm became a Shichibukai 1 year ago
Remember that we're still one gear away from awakening because the final gear will be the
>they go away for 2 years
>become really strong for an arc
>then they become shit again
I'm disappointed Usopp was really brave and then turned into a coward again. Also Chopper and Franky look retarded nowadays.
>Imo half of the ID guys are probably stronger than Burgess.
Hell, even the horse is Stronger.
This reminds me that I'm a bit upset that he's a blatant usurper.
If he was a real deal, it would make for a really interesting concept to explore as to why did Whitebeard call his crew his sons while refusing to acknowledge his actual offspring.
Franky robbed Strawhats and caused Usopp to almost leave the crew forever.
Robin was the right hand of the main villain of the entire saga.
The point is, some crew members had a rough start.
actual real life spoilers for real:
i wish ace survived to see sabo, howcome nobody knew sabo was life if he was revolutionary number 2?
usopp let him win,you saw the momentum he had?
if he defeated the captain, imagine how bad itd be for his friends.couldve blown him into the water and killed him.
usopp used a mere 5% of his power ,with a handicap of 2 neardeath beatdowns.
he threw the match senpai
that's the joke anon, he's the shittiest pirate and crew member of the series
all those stories he told were a lie and they're coming true
that includes him being a great warrior of the sea
he has to be garbage before he can become great
otherwise there'd be no change at all
I loved Luffy vs Usopp in the first Pirate Warriors game. You're gettting ready to punch Usopps face in then all of a sudden the camera moves behind Usopp and you're playing as Usopp with Luffy as the boss instead.
Only fight that was shit was the fight vs Sugar imho. That wasn't really a fight, he showed no new abilities whatsoever. Maybe because he lost memory of Robin and reverted to his old self
Clutch isn't reliant on overpowering someone though, especially since she can sprout limbs. Literally no one has been able to endure Clutch since the series started. The only characters that have so far are Luffy and Aokiji for obvious reasons.
He is usually involved in the more... lets say "tactical" fights of the series due to his nature as a coward. He could try to fight someone who is all about the straight up fight, and end up just BSing his way through it.
Is she behind Sanji's new poster? You know, maybe she wants to get her revenge rape on.
She ties Sanji, makes striptease for him, strart to masturbate in front of him etc.
Then she calls her okama slaves to do handjob and blowjob for Sanji while she continues to tease herself.
He keeps his stash well maintained
It's exactly what an asspull is.
Oda suddenly came up from nowhere with the idea of the third brother after Ace's death. And somehow he must find a reason why Sabo didn't try to contact with the other two for ages.
Even dumber situation if it's true, that Sabo was the man in the top hat at Loguetown when Buggy tried to execute Luffy.
How does fucking bomb work? Pell let the bomb go and fall a little before it exploded, during this he flew away farther to minimalize the damage caused by shock wave and splinter.
Still he damaged very badly but was able to survive.
>It's exactly what an asspull is.
No, it isn't. Then Ace would be an asspull as well and every other character that was not mentioned beforehand and then was introduced in the story. And the amnesia thing is convenient writing but not an asspull.
A lot of people doubt it too since there was no scratch marks ln literally anyone.
Except Sabo didn't know they were brothers until Ace died and by that point Luffy had gone missing. Read the fucking manga before you scream "asspull this, asspull that".
>fought at his best against Luffy because he knw Luffy wouldn't kill him
What a faggot. Still hasn't made up for that until he mans up in a real 1v1, not some gimmicky shit like Perona/Sugar
Apology not accepted. You're gonna fight like some tactical genius against your captain use some of that shit against your enemies.
>he doesn't fight 1v1 using his wits and tactics
Maybe he should because it fucken worked.
Sabou should relaize they were broters when Luffy smiled, cried I will be the pirate king and was almost beheaded and die in front of his eyes.
How could a fucking newspaper cause return from the amnesia intead of what he saw with his own eyes? Plus Luffy was a more memorable brother thanks to his goofyness.
Yeah yeah I know they knew each other with Ace more longer than with Luffy.
Are you stupid? Honest question. Do you read One Piece? Do you have any actual knowledge about Usopp? Cause it sounds like you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
Are you saying that Usopp never relies on tricks in his fights other than against Luffy? Are you implying that he should use his fists and and try melee combat?
He knows luffy very well, and used that against him when they fought. He didn't know jack fuck about jabura, perona, pacifista, or treble and sugar.
It's much easier to prep and be tactful for an opponent you know everything about
>Sabou should relaize they were broters when Luffy smiled, cried I will be the pirate king and was almost beheaded and die in front of his eyes.
Nowhere was it confirmed that Sabo was at Logue Town when this happened.
Becuse it was about his pride. And Usopp did dirty shit against Luffy too, pretending to spew blood. He knew Luffy. He knew which tricks would work against Luffy and which wouldn't. You see him lying and trying Usopp Speeell at first then gets in to gear. Not to mention he never gave Luffy the chance to attack after the first one. That shit wouldn't have worked against his other opponents.
Where are you getting that from? You can't get a number from the manga and the anime shows 4. Unless I missed a panel?
>Is wearing a bandanna over his mouth
>His nose is fully exposed
Enjoy your lung poisoning.
Without Kyros, no Tontatta army, without Kyros no plan to destroy factory, without Kyros and Tontatta army no secret passage for Ussop to get to Sugar. And Rebecca was a character that complemented Kyros. I liked Kyros and his story very much and I did not feel that he was unnecassary.
Franky robbed strawhats, because he wanted to fullfill his dream and he is not that bad (he helped, by a lot, to rescue Robin), also its was Ussop who was crazy about the ship, Franky only told him the dread truth.
Robin helped Luffy twice, both are death case.
>the fact that she had to yell her attack gave him enough time to escape
Usopp deserves a bit more credit in the manga IMO. Sucks that Oda decreed that he always has to be the weakest Straw Hat.
It's nice when he gets really subtle acknowledgements; like I think various crew members have noted that Usopp has more faith in Luffy than anyone else in the crew. Sanji and Zoro were legitimately impressed with his sniping during Enies Lobby. Zoro/Sanji have expressed faith in his ability to survive anything. He got two good inspirational sequences in Enies lobby (telling Robin to "believe in Luffy", and convincing Luffy to get back up). etc.
Like the only legit badass moment he has gotten in the NW outside of beating a jobber New Fishman Pirate crewmember was his Haki shot in Dressrosa- which thank god everyone actually saw and was astounded by. Beating Sugar the first time was typical clutch Usopp shit; him accidentally building a myth around himself is funny but his whole fucking character arc is supposed to be HIM MAKING HIS TALL TALES REAL, not him accidentally making MORE TALL TALES.
Usopp's fights have always been my favorite in the series. Usopp is the designated weakest of the crew, and that's why I think he's actually the bravest of the crew. He's not some guy made of rubber or a swordsman who literally cuts mountains. He's just a guy with a slingshot from a small island in the weakest sea. He's adventuring in a sea jam packed with the strongest maniacs in the world. He always faces impossible odds.
Usopp is also the character most resistant to power level creep. I'm of the opinion that all Shonen manga fights get less interesting because the MC has to get more and more bullshit OP powers to the point where the can literally destroy the world, and I just don't think this is all that interesting. Granted, Luffy's fights aren't about wits but more about his sheer willpower, but at least he can reasonably challenge the arc villain. With Usopp the odds are so stacked against him that it seems insane to even try. But he does anyway, and when he succeeds its all the more rewarding for it.
I want to take a bath with Robin.
I want to hold her limp body to keep her from drowning and scrub every inch of her.
Yeah honestly why the fuck do they think we care about their garbage deviantart. I understand the page saying "translated by mangastream ugu ~~" but why the shit do I have to go through 3 more fucking pages of autism to get to the fucking chapter?
Do they want me to see how "devoted" the fanbase is? Pretty fucking funny considering you're pirating the series and stealing revenue from the actual author. Real "devotion" there niggastream.
Dragon is going to shit all in and around Blackbeard's mouth.
>Usopp resistant to power creep
He's still a coward for the most part but you can't deny that he leveled up just like everybody else.
>arsenal of plants, new and improved slingshot
>now he has observation haki
It seems like Oda is setting up Usopp to become a legitimately powerful character towards the end of the series. Pretty much like what he's doing with Coby.
He had some badass moments in PH too. His mini speech about Luffy before Grizzly Magnum was fantastic. He stood up to those guys and preached like the God he is.
Usopp has been praised as being super reliable since the Timeskip, which is true.
It's weird cause Oda said he wanted Usopp to be the weakest in the crew but it's incredibly obvious that he isn't. Maybe he meant the most cowardly but that too can be debated.
And, of course, Oda could have just changed his mind. He has said stuff about the length of the series which has been broken again and again.
I hope that someday Oda will make an arc where like Luffy/zoro/sanji are trap somewhere, and the other strawhate have to team up to beat a big guy (like doffy tier level)
I also want more Brooks fight, I'm bored of him being only a comic relief, his fighting style is interesting but isn't exploited at all
Usopp was really the character that grew on me more when I reread the series from the beginning. He's just a regular ass dude and the world is full of people stronger than he is, but he still summons the courage to go ahead with the adventure anyway. The reason Luffy accepted him as a crewmember is because he recognized that, while Usopp is weak, his massive determination to become a pirate (and to protect the people he cares about) overpowers his cowardliness and self-doubt. People complain that he's still weakling and cowardly in spite of his timeskip powerup, but I feel like he's still developing both as a character and as a fighter.
>I also want more Brooks fight, I'm bored of him being only a comic relief, his fighting style is interesting but isn't exploited at all
I am pretty sure Oda will focus on every SH member in the upcoming arcs one by one. Now its Sanjis turn. Brook most likely will get more focus when we get to that certain kingdom where he was a battle convoy leader
Welcome to 4chan since tumblr and reddit become more prominent. More than half the people ITT can't even use proper English. Nobody reports or flames though so it will keep happening.
I guess it depends on how present Garp was in Dragons childhood? If Garp was around a lot, I can't see them disliking each other, at least not Garp. He's too good of a guy. Maybe Dragon is a faggot
They'd be like the same as Luffy and Garp. Dragon would be uncharacteristically flustered and beg Garp to not beat his ass. Sabo, Koala and Hack would wonder "wow, even Dragon-san is scared of him". Then they both fall asleep but Dragon will wake up first and make a run for it.
I was put off because of 4kids and the whole weird rubber faggot aspect. Honestly, 4kids wasn't even a problem for me cause I was just a kid back then. But after learning about Google and it's magic, I found the subbed version. Been in love ever since. Switched to the manga as Luffy's childhood flashback began. Had to wait 4 fucking weeks just as I began getting used to the manga.
Pretty sure he does. I think he remembers his past completely, not just 2 people from it.
Another amazing scene would be Garp busting down Dragon's wall and start beating the shit out of Sabo while Dragon, Koala and Hack watches in horror. Then Dragon and Garp will fall asleep and Sabo will try to book it.
Any scene with Garp and his family is guarenteed to be comedy gold. Unless it's War related.
Strange. Would the big guy fight Zoro? I know he looks like he was made to be Franky's soulmate but I figured Oda would draw the Monster Trio's opponents instead some other people. Or would Zoro just get to terrorise some poor girl again?
Are there any OP movies don't condradict the continuity?
I usually ignore all the shounen movie adaptation because them fitting nowhere in the story makes them nothing more than a glorified filler in my eyes.
watchedthat part with him rowing out to sea and getting attacked by the CD ship, I was absolutely 100 percent sure he was still alive and would be returning later. I still haven't read that part in the manga, even though I have the first 800 chapters downloaded and ready to go. What's the difference between Sabos departure in the manga compared to the anime?
Gum Gum Storm is the coolest attack in the series
Prove me wrong: You
can, it's my opinion
I think a lot of Zoro's attacks are super cool. Red Hawk in the anime was amazing, Grizzley Magnum, Leo Bazooka, some Diable Jambe attacks, Rokougun, Entei, Doffy's last attack, Raigo, Hellhound Fist or whatever, Meteor Volcano or whatever are some off the top of my head.
Not to say Storm isn't cool, of course.
honestly I think Red Hawk is used too often and should be a finisher like Grizzly Magnum.
The only attack in the entire series I don't like is Luffy's UFO because it just doesn't make sense
It's a bit annoying how he catches fire for no reason, but he could have learned it from Sanji or something
UFO is stupid
Never ever. He only made the exception the one time for cutting up 'food'.
Sanji's whole philosophy is to spare his hands- and knives- for cooking, it's why he and Zeff are/were kickboxing masters.
>Gum Gum Storm
Golden Rifle was pretty fucking cool.
One attack, tied the whole damn Skypeia arc together, defeated Enel, rang the bell, and looked amazing doing it.
so...I've been reading this series sice a decade and last years have been really been painful to me. I don't know if its the story or just me growing out of it. I just don't feel passionate anymore towards this series, I used to take a lot of time to read the chapters while listening to the OST and now I'm speedreading and skipping stuff like a lot of stuff during Dressrosa. The current arc seems to appeal me a bit more but I feel like I've been reading a beta one piece these last years. Is anyone like me?
>growing out of One Piece
Ha, that's funny.
Leave it alone for a couple of months, sooner or later that heap of unread chapters will start looking more and more attractive. We're all in this until the day we die, anon.
>now I'm speedreading and skipping stuff like a lot of stuff during Dressrosa.
Also, how the fuck would you enjoy anything if you're speedreading and skipping stuff in the first place?
I mean, it was pretty comical so you know. Besides, you should already know that real science is mostly useless in One Piece.
Fuck, that scene always gives me goosebumps.
>Can you hear it, old man?
The anime did it justice too. That soundtrack nailed it.
Nope. I'm loving each new chapter more than the last. I don't care what some faggots think bout the pacing or the cast or the secondary characters or the villains or the setting or anything. I'm having a blast.
The music in the Arabasta & Skypeia arcs was absolutely beautiful. To think I initially disliked the soundtrack when I was getting into One Piece...
There's a moment at the start of Skypeia, when they're going to ride the Knock-up stream, and Cricket is watching the seas, smoking, expectantly, as the Strawhats set sail, and this music plays:
Gives me chills every time. The sense of a new adventure, about to start.
A lot of the Dressrosa soundtracks are awesome but a lot of them are unreleased. Caesar's theme is the only one I can recall from PH and tht ones pretty damn fitting as well. FI had tons too. Strong World and Movie Z had amazing soundtrack as well. Marineford used some of Strong World's and it turned out incredible. I'll post a few
There's tons more but finding them is going to be annoying. Honestly, the soundtrack is one of the only things the anime does right. It's spectacular.
I don't remember what my initial thoughts were since I started the anime like 6-7 years ago. But I'm fairly sure I loved it. Fuckin' Walk to Arlong Park with Overtaken playing, goddamn my child brain must have been screaming. I remember I used to download and keep playing the ost while I went to sleep and shit.
On the other side, this one hit me like a bunch of high speed trucks. Tore my heart.
>Zou crew still haven't seen their bounties
>Chopper still doesn't know he got jobbed again
First time was a joke, second time smells of conspiracy. How do people not realize the Fishman Island beast was Chopper, and that he's pretty dangerous.
Nice, I'll be saving this.
Yeah that's one of my favourites, the ending especially. Saddest One Piece song for me will always be this one though:
>song named Kaido
>chapter named suicide
>guess what Z did at the end of the movie
I finally understand.
I think it depends for me. I can't classify one particular OST as the saddest. It depends on tje situation.
Like those ones. The first one constantly reminds me off Luffy's screaming and I just can't handle it. The second makes me think about how fucking depressing Brook's past was and I can't handle that either. I played those at their respective times when rereading the manga and I couldn't help but tear up.

>guts being ass raped was vital to the plot, not just edgefagging which was never mentioned again
>the fairy rape was vital to the plot, not just edgefagging which was never mentioned again
>the prostitute church rape thing was vital to the plot, not just edgefagging which was never mentioned again
You clearly have not read berzerk in a long fucking time if you can only remember the casca rape you faggot.
>Chaser, the White Chase
Now that I think about it, Smoker's epithet is actually kinda badass. And even Crocodile knew about him. I hope he gets an insane power up when he shows up next. He's one of the best Marines.
Maybe you just grew tired in general?
Like i still love one piece, but it's nothing compared to younger me. Now its not one pieces fault. Same shit when it comes to vidya and stuff in general.
The thing i genuinely miss is the old artstyle. It was kinda warmer.
For me it was a combination FI being pretty shit, reading weekly for the first time from mid Impel Down to then, and being 18 and depressed and not liking things. Now its the one major thing staving off my depression
Who do you think? He told the World Government to go eat shit. He's always been doing whatever he thinks is right instead of bowing to the higher ranks.
Huh. When I first started I got to read about 7 chapters or so before having to wait 4 weeks for the Timeskip. But I was used to waiting a week for anime episodes so that didn't bother me.
Here, have a best bro pic.
I can't think of a way for him to ever shorten the gap between him and Luffy because Luffy always gets stronger just by fighting tough guys so during the time Smoker was recuperating, Luffy just widened the gap.
Anon... have you never seen Adams family? One of the movies oda has specifically mentioned as liking?
Weeble really is whitebeards son, but the mom is not his mother. She is the imposter, weeble is just stupid.
The only way to do so is by improving his fruit amd Haki. I have faith that Smoker can do that, especially after all the shit he went through in PH. I can see him improving his will and focusing on living up to his hype. And they're in the New World, I'm sure Smoker will get a fair amount of fights here and there.
But just by virtue of being protagonist, Luffy will be fighting Yonko commanders and whatnot while Smoker fights nameless pirate crews. Besides, unless he gets some equivalent of Gear Fourth, Luffy could just use that to stomp Smoker.
Doesn't matter. Oda did everything in his power to make it obvious that Weeble is not Whitebeard's son. It doesn't make sense with Whitebeard's dreams and character arc anyway.
Yea, but people like the Admirals got strong by some way or othee. And it's probably not by battling Yonkos. So Smoker has plenty of chances to grow. You have to remember that the New World is where the strongest people gather. Even a no named pirate is likely to be stronger than any shitter from Paradise. And I don't mean people like Lola, I mean pirates who have established themselves but are unknown to us.
Just let me dream, man.
>Whitebeard fucks some lady
>fucks off and becomes a pirate because fuck that responsibility
>still would like a family though
>Eh, whatever, I'll just call this pineapple head my son. Wait, where did this diamond prick come from?
Fun fact, did you know that a man is actually able to knock some bitch up after sleeping with her once and never seeing her again?
Amazeballs I know. Say what you will, at least yassop was a cold motherfucker who knew he was ditching a kid.
No, Amnesia won't solve Tashigi at all. Zoro didn't fuck off from the Dojo the instant she died. They don't hold funerals for people with a little bump on their head and full signs of life.
Once again, why do you think whitebeard knew?
Oda loves Adams family, and this setup with the son/mother of an important person is classic adams. Weeble is fester, if you have not seen the movie go fuck yourself.
The fact that whitebeard always wanted a family and has a IRL son is pottery. It adds depth to whitebeard, it does not diminish him.
Its funny because Krillin is a warrior that used to be in the same tier as Goku, unlike Usopp who was always like 100 times weaker than Luffy
yet Usopp still managed to be much more useful for his team than Krillin
>It adds depth to whitebeard,
No it doesn't. Especially if it's a son like Weevil. I don't care whatever the fuck Adam's family did. These are two different stories and Whitebeard is clearly handled in a much more serious manner as a character.
Quite honestly we know jack shit about Whitebeard's past. Serious or otherwise. All we know is that he loved his crew and treated them like family. He was a loving man. No mention about seriousness or anything.
Right, and I am saying you are fucking stupid for saying that.
You are arguing that whitebeard is above oda making a joke, when oda already has. Weeble and the mom did an entire bit about it. Whitebeards sons are being slaughtered. Tons of named character we saw in the war died off screen just so the weeble introduction would be funnier.
I am calling you a wikifag marineford baby because you clearly do not understand the comic you read. OP has always been comedy above fightfags and edgelords.
So once again
>OP is a serious manga
Get the fuck out of here
And? That's like saying it's fine if Blackbeard or Akainu have their particular ideals because they broke a nail and got angry at the world or some shit. Hurr dur we don't know if it's serious or not because we don't know anything. No. There are certain characters Oda plays straight, especially when it comes to fleshing out characters with backstories and explaining why they have certain characteristics or ideals now. Only backstory I can think of that was played off as a joke was Duval's but he was clearly a joke character to begin with.
Yeah, One Piece is a comedy, but not when it comes to certain aspects and themes.
No. YOU clearly do not understand the comic you read. There are certain topics that Oda takes very seriously. And some of those topics include family(blood related or not) and a person's ideals. Again, I get that One Piece has a lot of comedic elements to it, but you really don't know what kind of series you're reading if you think Oda would play Whitebeards whole ideals about wanting to have his own family as a stupid soap opera spoof "You WERE the father! HuRR HUR!" joke.
Nigga, Weevil already exists. Whether or not he's WB's son, he fucking exists. Why the fuck can't Whitebeard have a stupid son? We already know Bakkin is a major cunt so that would explain why the dude never grew up properly. There is literally no issue with Weevil being authentic. I'm not saying he is ir he isn't, mind you. But I cannot see why you have such a huge problem with it.
What the fuck are you talking about? I'm not even talking about comedic scenes you speedreading mentally challenged faggot. I'm talking about their ideals and backstories. Oda would not give either of them comedic silly backstories, whether or not they have comedy scenes in the present. They are important characters in One Piece as well as Whitebeard.
Ideals are a very big theme in One Piece and one of the best things One Piece does is give reasons why a lot of these different characters have different ideals by fleshing out their backstories.
Oda already is anon. What do you think weeble is?
Weeble of course will redeem himself you retard. Then it will be classic inherited will. Weeble will inherit his spirit from whitebeard once he actually gets the fake mom away, then makes a family crew of his own. Full circle, pottery, just like oda likes.
Because it's stupid as fuck, and again it would completely ignore Whitebeard's established character arc. You could believe he's whitebeard's son or not, but just know you're as retarded as those idiots that believe Bukkin is Lola's mother.
How is having a son a comedic backstory? This is where you are having a problem. It is not a comedic backstory, it is a tragic one. Weeble never knew his father. His father never knew he had a real son.
Just because there will be laughs, does not diminish whitebeard.
this, people like that are why I just watch anime without visiting any shitty boards that talk about it, so much more enjoyable without retards trying to find flaws every single day
>Weevil is born
>Weevil's little ship gets blown up Marine shitter
>drinking problem begins
>marriage breaks up
>Whitebeard takes to piracy
>builds up a little crew and calls them family to ease the pain
>becomes Yonko because he wanted to be strong enough to protect his sons
>enter Weevil with convenient scars
Can we just get an arc where everyone has a 1v1 fight like Enies Lobby.
Time Skip fighting has been so fucking shit.
Fishman Island was a joke
There wasn't that much on Punk Hazard
Dressrosa aside from a few was underwhelming
My comedic/serious argument stems from responding to this >>135685250 comment. I'm not arguing if it'll be a tragic story or not if Weevil actually is Whitebeard's son. Knowing Oda he could probably weave to be. But I can still think you're a retard if you actually think that's how it's gonna play out.
Nigger, you keep fucking saying it goes against established chracter and ideals and whatever the fuck but you don't explain how. Why can't WB just not know? Why can't there be some unfortunate accident that resulted in Weevil being a vegetable? Why can't something, not comedic in any fucking way shape or form, happen? No goddamn reason. That's why. Give me some fucking reasons as to why it would ruin Whitebeard's character based on what we know. And it has to be based on what we know.
>knowing Oda he could probably weave it to be
>You're still a retard if you actually think that's how it's gonna play out
It'd make him into a nigger that sleeps around knocking up women without having the fucking knowledge that "Oh hey! I have sex with women anyway! And having sex can make babies!" Problem and dreams solved. Any reasonable persona that's not a retarded fuck would be able to come up with that conclusion.
Why the fuck would that be your greatest dream if it was so goddamn easy anyway? It doesn't make any sense, unless you start making the most retarded excuses. Oh he only became infertile AFTER Weevil was born ofcourse! Of course.
I hate complaining about One Piece but this. I agree, we need an arc to display the true extent of the crew's post timeskip power.
This is coming from a guy that wants them all to get a power up like in Enies Lobby, but that cant happen until they show off what they already got.
I fucking loved this one, favorite fight of Skypiea. It was awesome when she, Gan Fall, Wiper and Zoro made it to the top 4 of the survival game. Such a waste they don't use her like that any more.
You and that panel make it sound like a mental disability. Or a disease.
Is that the joke?
