Do the kissu count?
That's all that really matters.
Shitsurakuen is pretty everything you've described by the way.
It's worth a read if you haven't checked it out. Not much actual yuri-action but she definitely gets a harem.
We don't fix yuri.
We fix hetero:
* Shounen should NOT be a fucking faggot.
* Shoujo should NOT be a rabid pitbull or a cowardly tee-hee-heer.
* People responsible for animu based on hetero should NOT be fucking cockblocking hacks like Mitsuo Fukuda.
Make it harder, lewder, smarter. Make more of it. Make it so. Make it
I have 4 suggestions, producer-anon-kuns:
1. Yuri anime of 2 high school girls falling in love. SoL. Beach episodes. Confession during matsuri. Awkward onsen episode.
2. Yuri anime of 2 college/adult girls. University setting and it will tackle more mature issues like: cheating, society and advanced sexual activities.
3. Age gap yuri anime: a high school teacher/high school student.
4. Yuri anime fantasy but less focus on the romance more on the story itself. But with enough yuri moments to fuel a thousand doujins and artwork.
Probably the 4th one, but only if they don't beat around the bush about their relationship. I don't want to deal with implied subtext.
>Have Yama no Susume
>Make Aoi and Hinata confess, kiss, and do cute gay things together
We actually do need more anime like Sakura Trick. You can argue about the execution but the idea of just having a comfy, cute girls SoL with actual canon gayness is good. No harem or love triangle bullshit either.
To fix yuri you must first fix the execution of romance. Now I don't know if this little bit has been reduced to a mini pasta like that "the point of the romance genre is to self insert" shit that drives me crazy, but I don't see much argument against the opinion that romance alone honestly can't universally carry a story without inevitably becoming a chore if it's just typical SoL. This is at the absolute worst in yuri in which everything is grounded (personally, I'd say trapped) in a shitty "realistic" setting with nothing colorful to appeal to the market. Now, I know "harem"shit is a core of anime, but there has to be reasons it sells other than the girls drooling after a shitty cardboard cutout that only dreams it could one day live in hallowed legend like the hero of harem, Harem King Sugisaki Ken. You couldn't make "harem"shit successful if it were grim and depressing overall no matter how bubbly you made the girls. Yuri needs more fucking fun and focus on creation fleshed out entertaining characters rather than going crazy with drama.
There does need to be more male characters that are there to add more color to the cast. Side characters don't need real purpose, they're just there. To anyone who would cry foul at this, falling for one of the girls or the other way around is not obligatory. I could easily think of a minimum of 3 different characters you could add to that would pose no threat to yuri; a completely normal guy who just shows no interest in dating, but isn't retarded and dense, a lovable clown who tries to be a good friend and is a passionate yurifag, and a somewhat quiet faggot you'd have to wonder how they're friends with who likes to narrow his eyes and adjust his glasses any time something stupid or irrational happens.
These sound shitty, of course, but the point is guys can exist in dominantly female settings without shitty love triangles. Characters that aren't major can simply be there for more variety in what can happen.
>Permanently get rid of the "prince" type
>Stop having the "cute" girl always admire and like the "cooler", "more mature" girl
>Have loli + loli yuri relationships
>Have more male mangaka create R18 yuri manga
>Have more male mangaka create yuri in general
>Have more canon gayness in moe SoL manga/anime
>Have more couples like Totori/Mimi (Atelier series) and Nepgear/Uni (Hyperdimension Neptunia)
>Subtext is good but people want confirmed couples too
I passionately hate baiting that goes absolutely nowhere. The fact that it even exists confirms any god that isn't Madokami or Demonbane hates you and wants to you live in despair and or rage.
Speak for yourself, lesbian porn is one of the most sought out in the porn industry
I have no other charts
Threads that are about manga or fixing the genre don't get shitposted unlike "why do we love/hate".
What a shock. Too bad no one gives enough of a fuck about yuri to actually try and make it better.
You know those shows that are about highschool or magic beamspam lolis or space privateers, but also have romantic tension between the protagonist and another girl despite the fact it never really gets developed and nothing concrete ever really comes of it? Do those, except develop them and have something concrete come of it.
Also, Shinozaki-san adaptation and Stretch shorts.
>Yuribaiting and subtext SoL should be a crime
Yaoi and Yuri sells by being subtext
Harem sells through ecchi
That's the unwritten rule. Cannot tell why it works like that though
>stop the subtext bullshit, make them actual lovers, not "really good friends", this goes for both yurishit and fujoshit
>stop treating lesbians like the purest, most perfect beings in the universe uncapable of doing anything wrong because their love is so beautiful and special
>make more mature, realistic stories, not overflowing with shitty ridiculous drama
How about a manga about a "prince" girl who has a crush on an outwardly straight tiny genki girl who wants to be her friend?
A high fantasy anime with yuri main characters is my greatest hope
Imagine how hot that would be. . .armored knight saves princess from dragon. . .takes off helmet, its a chick. . .princess's latent lesbianism is awakened and they get it on.
does something like this exist already?
I'm, sorry, I meant anime and not manga, or other media, should have specified that. The only one I can think of is Sasameki Koto.
Sure, in manga this is more common, but that subject is mostly touched in adult life series, I think it would be nice if there was more of it in high school themed manga.
Well I know of a couple for high school lesbians being outright stated. But yeah it's pretty much only manga.
Can't be picky about anime when it comes to Yuri sadly. I enjoy manga more anyway so it works out for me.
The execution was horrible. I love incest and I'm not shallow enough I would wouldn't have been heavily dissatisfied with just an adorable but poorly developed aniki and imouto who eat each other's faces when no one is looking. I'd read my fellow incestfags the Riot Act for enjoying it.
I would love a yuri harem show with a brutal lesbian raping innocent girls who don't want it.
Something like Rance just as a girl and of course as an anime.
It was prison lesbians from the start and they've all already killed each other. Anyone left will fall victim to "harem"shit thanks to that faggot Kira Yamato wannabe.
>Yaoi and Yuri sells by being subtext
Or it might be because the non-subtext yuri and yaoi is uniformly terrible and obviously not worth buying. The subtext shows, on the other hand, are often legitimately good.
These aren't anime but;
Dragon's Dogma if you play as a lesbian. If you do the duchess sidequest you can even princess-carry her during the rescue. And naturally there's a bit where you can rescue your love interest from a dragon.
There's also Embric of Wulfhammer's Castle, an actually pretty top-tier RPGMaker game which was made with /u/ and /tg/ in mind.
Eien no Filena, first a light novel, then a video game on the SNES. More heroic fantasy than high fantasy, but heck, main girl is a gladiator who's awarded a concubine and their attachment to each other only grows.
There's also the various "It's the Sengoku era/Romance of the Three Kingdoms but we gender flipped everyone and gave them superpowers and shit" which isn't quite high fantasy in the western sentiment, but shit, you can't be picky.
Personally, yuri or not, I'm wary of any anime in the realm of fantasy until the anime industry gets over its fetish for boilerplate light novels.
