Hollywood is making a
live-actionadaptation of the last anime you watched
How fucked are you?
Sabagebu might actually be pretty funny. They probably couldn't do Urara as well, though.
Let's flip this around. The last western movie you watched gets turned into an anime.
I don't know how well this would work animated. Something about the "real-life"-ness of it doesn't seem like it could be translated well.
I either love it, or hate it, depending on who they find to cast as Roberta.
Do anime musicals exist? Not something like Macross/Cross Ange/idol shows. I mean where the songs could be replaced with normal speaking and nothing would change.
The politics would be lost in translation, but the insult humor would still land.
Nerima Daicon Brothers.
It is terrible though unfortunately, and has no budget.
>The musical comedy format is rare in Japanese animation
Well I guess that's that.
Theater avoided, fuck 3DPD carpet muncher propaganda.
Would watch and rage again, this time with /a/. 750 posts and 150 images omitted for at least a week straight.
Well it could be good, as long as the uniforms don't look retarded. But i don't know if a movie can properly display the strong points of the show
That's gonna be some kinda trainwreck i can get behind
Yo Harry & Hermione, back off! We got this!
>Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
It would probably be a chick flick
I would see it, and cry
It wasn't very good.
Jormungand deserves to be a series. HBO could probably do it justice.
I don't remember the last movie I watched but I recently marathoned House of Cards. I'd love to see how Japan fucks up the southern accent.
They already did though, kinda.
Miley Cirus - Iona
Miranda cosgrove - Ulith
CGI by Industrial Magic & Light
> Doug Stamper being all "silent loyal servant" towards Frank-sama
> Claire having the typical anime matronly voice
> Meechum playing the "feudal samurai in love with his superior" role
> Gavin as a swirly glasses 90's anime hacker
> Tusk portraying the "money is the only truth in life!" cliché
would be fun
Last thing I watched was JoJo. But I really don't think they could handle the style of that series.
I'm about to start the GTO animu though, I've heard the live-action adaptations of that were good.
Implying Hollywood would make a good one though that wasn't just straight comedy with no drama/insight.
I don't know how to feel about this. While it'd be easy enough to acted out with people without losing much of the feel, there's no way in hell that anyone can take all of the eps and crunch it into a movie without losing a lot of content. It would be like a recap episode with real people and that thought disgusts me.
Nah, we don't need this. The book was ok, it went into how he had flashbacks and became an alcoholic and all but the movie dropped that. Being that it would be removed so much from the source material I wouldn't really think that it would work all that well.
I don't know if it'd be that fucked, really, but it'd be much better suited as a sitcom than a film.
the better question is, who would they cast as Kaiki-sama?
I am SO down. As long as it's a series, not that they try to cram everything into one film.
Madoka magica? I really want to watch this.
American Sniper? Not sure if that can work.
>west turned anime
This would be cool as fuck and probably handled a lot better
Well if the American version is an adaptation of the English series. Then it should be a show about Japanese parliament, and politics. Which would be kinda neat, as I rarely even hear the politics mentioned in modern anime.
Maria the Virgin Witch. The sex jokes would be made much more raunchy and it will become absolutely grimderp with everyone living in mud huts and matrix style fights.
>Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
That... would have the potential to be turned into a really big franchise if they put something like 2 million USD per episode..
Your average television show gets a budget of almost 4 million per episode, and your average anime gets like 100,000 USD to be made.
This is like a well of untapped potential.
Could someone write a letter?
There's no fucking way this would work.
Cute anime girl Pacino goes after cute anime girl De Niro and his gang of cute anime girl thieves, while a crazy neo nazi cute anime girl sells them out.
Instant best OST of the year.
> The last western movie you watched gets turned into an anime.
I skipped through Vice to see if there was anything good (there wasn't) an anime would probably be better since they'd make the sexbot cuter or something
the last movie I actually watched was Edge of Tomorrow and an anime of that would result in a "game of telephone" version of the LN/manga
Can we have Stan Lee asking for coffee again?
That's not gonna work.
Goddamn, Moon was amazing. That and Planetes made last decade one of my favourites for sci-fi, and one of the best for hard sci-fi.
>Jormungand deserves to be a series
It really doesn't because while HBO does plenty of nudity the 3d muscle girls would look like shit, the gun porn would probably be lacking and the /ss/ probably wouldn't even be /ss/.
Already happened, it's terrible.
Idols are now cheerleaders and characters look nothing like their idol counterpart. Producer is the trainer of the cheerleading team and the plot is that he has to gather and train girls to compete in a competition against the school in the neighboring town. The other town is well known and Producer's team is the underdog who will win in the end. Also some girl knows someone in the other team and it's so sad that they are against each other now but in the end it turns out they are still friends and it's so heartwarming.
>Yuki Yuna wa Yusha de Aru
Maybe with enough budget it could be done but I don't think people would buy it.
Also some of the really Japanesey stuff like Tougou's nationalism wouldn't really work for a hollywood adaptation.
This time it really would be yucky tuna.
I guess it could fit, it could be made genuinely great with a good director.
Or just leave DEEN in charge of the whole thing, it would fit the original production values
