How did the government not go bankrupt?
>>
I don't think I fully understood what exactly that construction was.
>>
>>118964608

What I understand is that all of the buildings on the top have a basement that descends into the Geofront. It's not inverted; those are just the basement levels of the structures aboveground.
>>
>>118964573
easy, you have the super weapon called EVA and NERV, who is only force against the angels

Would they even really be Capitalist anymore?

Pretty sure wiping out 90% of the human race would put a damper in the global economy.

>The U.N. took control of the economic situation and organized the sharing of resources between the survivors.
>>
>>118964573
Much of that underground structure already existed, IIRC. The above-ground complex is still impressive, but it had international backing.

It seems believable that they could build that shit really fast with the right resources but all that fucking gardening on the lower tier?

I bet they just made the massive plates and stuffed it on top of nerv or something, not excavated a underground.

I love the design of the entire geography of both Tokyo 3 and the environment surrounding it. Entire mountainsides hiding gun batteries, normal mountains large enough to endure at least 1 shot from an angel's weaponry, layers upon layers of armor in the ground in the event the city is breached, elevators for the EVAs for quick transportation throughout the area, and so on. This is the level of thought and analysis that needs to be put into every construction project. It's marvelous.

So is Evangelion about the rapture?
>>
>>118965425
Yes
>>
>>118965425
>So is Evangelion about the rapture?
Literally, yes.
The actual Rapture. Not the pretty fake one the Christians made up to make themselves feel better. Christians like to pretend they aren't going to lose their very identity when they become mindless drones worshipping at the throne of their deity for all eternity. Funny that it is something no one wants to preach. The popular portrayal of the afterlife is entirely propaganda, and doesn't resemble the Bible's portrayal at all. Afterlife is filled with horrible monsters, and your only task is to be on your knees and praise your creator for all eternity. That's ALL. That's the only thing the afterlife is offering. Not that appealing is it?

Looks like someone didn't watch the show. Or even the Rebuilds for that matter.

Speaking of which, what was the deal with pic-related from 1.11? We never saw organic matter like this in NGE's geofront. Was it ever detailed in any of the CRC books?

Well shit.
>>
>>118964573
I had always wondered, I guess this is more a /pol/ related topic but that place is deader than dead

If an outside force threated all of humanity, would we be able to put aside our petty conflicts and economics in order to fight the threat? Pool all available resources towards defense with cost being a non-factor?

Or would be bickering about money and control all the way until we get evaporated?
>>
>"You will die, if this is not built"

Suddenly, money.
>>
>>118967964
I'm pretty sure something will happen. Worst comes to worst, USA foots the bill and get to call itself the greatest country in the world while Russian and China duplicate efforts in an international epeen competition. Or some variant thereof.
>>
>>118967964
I would go with the former if we are talking about present day society. Add into it the amount of collaborators to the invaders alongside the masses of fanatics worshiping the invaders like the second coming of Jesus I would say humanity is pretty boned. As of now Humanity as an entire collective is too fractured and individual in its ideals and desires to band together as one to defeat a foreign threat. It may be an exception for some countries but more so people will be bickering and picking at the scraps when everything is said and done.
>>
>>118967964
It certainly would be interesting to see the majority of the world allied and running under a WWII daily life system. Rationing, victory gardens, recycling drives.
>>
>>118967890
Nuclear power plants aren't capable of such things unless they're made by Europoors.

>>118967964
it would probly be like xcom where there's some guys asking everyone for funding and everyone being stingy little bitches.
in anime everyone always helps each others like they're suddenly best friends
>>
>>118967964
Depends entirely on how the media spins it, and the destination of allocated resources.

IRL the U.S. would need to own the geofront with full authority before we poured money into it. It's not socialism then--it's national defense.

Thankfully, Japan would probably give it up. If the geofront were in Russia or China, we'd fight WWIII for decades before the angels came in and stomped us.
>>
>>118967964
if global warming is any indicator, the latter would be more likely

although I guess it isn't as terror-inspiring as the angels

>tfw the elites take the fight to ayys and systematically destroy them and their collaborators and deliver the world from extinction and establish a new world order with themselves at its head for being the saviors of mankind

>>
>>118967964
It's precisely because we fight and bicker that the best outcome is reached. Don't conflate fiction with reality. You're acting as if all the benefits of out in-fighting, the competition, the penny pinching and so on, could still be achieved if we all just up and rubber stamped everything.

The truth of the matter is that Gendo would dump monstrous resources into a project that has no reasonable outcome. Everyone gets tanged for one mans obsession. Sounds very romantic, but it's ludicrous.

It was stated in the series that even the costs of a single-time repair of Evangelions is enough to bankrupt an entire country.

>>118964875
Sorry, but "the economy" isn't some magical force that can shit out more goods and services if pressed. Nerv would have to be the only authority left to have that much pull on resource distribution, and even then with humanity as fucked up as it is, it's not likely we'd finish building a single EVA before the Angels get here.
>>
>>118968817
I think it's more than that. The third impact fucked up the planet really badly.
>>
>>118967964
As romantic as the notion of humanity banding together to fight off an alien menace might sound, I'm pretty sure that mankind would not be able to do much about aliens who have the resources to travel and explore across interstellar distances. Unless their weakness is wooden doors and water.
