I get the idea, but I still don't understand why you'd need a pastebin to understand it unless you didn't pay attention to it and were just shitposting on 4chan while glancing at the anime every few seconds.
I dont understand this fucker. He runs the latest anime cartel but he keeps acting like a fucking retard.
Lots of things in the anime felt forced(?)/rushed(?) so it felt like I was missing something, but again, I might not be the brightest. Subbing 50 series a season takes a toll on your mind, you know?
>It’s hard to say fansubbing even “exists” right now when there’s a ton of anime on CrunchyRoll. Fansubbing originally started because official English translations weren’t out “quickly enough” due to licensing and such. As such, fansubbers like myself who started because of that have no reason to continue fansubbing in the current simulcast dominated environment. Saying “because no karaoke” or “because no typesetting” is like making up excuses to keep fansubbing. You are literally the guy on Reddit who corrects someone’s “alot”.
>unless you didn't pay attention to it and were just shitposting on 4chan while glancing at the anime every few seconds.
>there are people out there who are doing this right now
I don't have a link to the paste, but basically
>manchild group leader and manchild editor get in a fight on their staff-only IRC channel over TS'ing and being lazy or some stupid shit
>group leader overreacts and throws a fit at the editor for calling him a hypocrite for criticizing lazy group leaders when he's not picking up slack
>more fighting and shit throwing
>editor leaves the group
>no one to edit Shigatsu for them because no spare editors
>group leader announces Kaylith is kill because he doesn't wanna do it anymore
Their channel topic in IRC says that they plan on making a new group that's pretty much Kaylith minus the old group leader, though, so I guess nothing has changed aside from Shigatsu being stalled or possibly dropped.
That was the group leader of Kaylith. RIP Kaylith.
Oh well, all of the other members are forming that new group, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Got some entertaining drama from it I guess.
Only things I'm upset about are not having a Shigatsu release with Kaylith-tier typesetting anymore and Asenshi is going to be delayed even more because Fyurie was working on their release iirc.
Hahaha oh wow he writes for Dark_Sage now?
>Now that I’ve basically retired from active subbing altogether, I’m gonna give this a whirl for a bit, should be an experience to remember.
Hopefully he won't be able to form or join a group when he realizes nobody is sucking his dick anymore.
>what a cutie
>this can't be true
What's with all the genderbent fanart
I'm sitting on the holy grail of anime fansubs. Massive amount of epenis with close to no effort put in. See the guys at Kaylith? They've probably spent more time on one series than we have an entire year, but they'll be forgotten in a month or so.
I have every right to act smug.
Why can't someone other than Scribbles do a light edit on Daitoshokan?
It's a good show and doesn't deserve only being done by Funi. Half of the last episode was muted due to copyrighted songs. It ruined the viewership experience.
Fuck you anon, Daitoshokan is the comfiest show this season.
Some Kaylith members already work on / have worked on Commie releases. That doesn't really have anything to do with them making a new group, though.

Are they? From what I've seen it seems most of them have normal levels of autism. Feels to me like it's the ones that get epenis that ramp up the autism to cataclysmic levels.
she got like 3000 dollars when she got sick and needed to go to a doctor too...don't forget about that one too
it was a bigger shit storm than the 5000 dollars UTW raised for nothing
Why don't you always do karaoke subs?
More or less, but they're making a new group that's pretty much the same thing minus the old leader. Only thing that should change I imagine would be Shigatsu getting dropped unless they find an editor.
No, merely assimilated. All those other fansub groups are going to meet the same fate soon.
You need to be autistic to keep doing this. Think about it. You put in so much work to get bashed. You don't get paid. It's not going to help with getting a good career. Volunteering at your local library is a better cause.
Sure, but certain people's autism seems to cross the boundary of acceptable levels, like Kristen, unanimated, Daiz and of course yourself. Dark_Sage too although he's in a different spectrum of autism at this point.
Just translate OVAs and movies you pieces of shit.
Sabagebu!'s OVA is right there, waiting to be translated, but no, you cry babies translate or edit crap that's already done by CR and then complain about people not giving a shit about your efforts.
How did they evolve? All that happened is now instead of having a few try hard groups that'd turn out a few high quality releases a season and then the rest of the groups turning out shitty releases we just get low effort CR edits.
Technology has evolved.
You can "fansub" nowadays without a dedicated translator.
The average "high quality" release 2-3 years ago is barely HorribleSubs level.
People considered Eclipse high quality 2-3 years ago. People considered gg high quality 2-3 years ago. Those releases are nothing compared to high quality today.
The average Horriblesubs release 2-3 years ago was barely at current HorribleSubs level.
It could go back to that any day, all you need is a shitty translator willing to suck CR's dick.
I dont see how you can believe CR is putting out releases anywhere close to what high end releases were, they blow CR away just for the fact they actually bother to properly typeset and encode their releases not to mention any other possible advantages.
What exactly do you even consider a high quality release? Getting something out instantly with a readable TL?
Daiz controls Nyaa, which by extension controls the "cartel". If he really wanted and whined enough, he could simply block you and your uploads to Nyaa. Without the main platform of Nyaa to advertise, I assume you would get less of that precious donation/ad revenue sheckles; however, because the cartel isn't able to sub every show and do so quickly, Nyaa's customer base will also shrink.
3 years ago was only 2011. I don't think fansubbing has changed all that much since then to make a high quality release today much different from a high quality release back then.
Go watch something by one of the older 'prominent' sub group like Shinsen. Some of their TL and even typsetting really aren't that fantastic if you compare to some of the current ones.
I don't know. Script-wise, I suppose? I don't really care about typesetting and encodes. Even though they're not best, CR is more than watchable. I'll get the BDs if I really care enough to "archive" a show.
I think you forgot that our website has been hosted by Nyaa for a while now.
