GONNA GET YOU
LIKE A SPACE BOY
I think they were dodging brand names in the first season(s). They always referred to cars with chassis codes and you'd never see any manufacturer logos on the cars. Note how the 86 is missing the Toyota marking on the back of the car.
In later seasons you could actually see the missing details and I think they might actually call the car manufacturer by name.
>Mega NRG Man will never be your DJ
Why even live?
Not all of them, check this hot little 2D slut out.
If you ever find yourself thinking "you know, my ricebox isn't loud and obnoxious enough", you might just be the ideal customer for an anti-lag system.
Quick /a/, it's 2 o'clock in the morning and you're hammering down an empty highway in your riced up Civic. Which hektik eurobeat tune do you put on?
SPEEDY SPEED BOY
Why was there never any traffic except one car in the entire anime?
Fucking plot holes man.
You idiot, did you even seriously watching it?
There are car club, and that car club blocking and redirecting the car to the mountain pass everytime they have a race, hence the walkie talkie and stuff.
And they race from dead middle of the night to 3 o.clock in the morning (this one is part what I understand from IRL race in Japan).
These kind of car club are forbidden now. Also no longer popular (Yet in 2012 some people still did it on obsecure mountain pass).
Oh god. The 8-6. Memories are coming back of that shit Initial D dub I used to watch on TV. Takumi was TAK. Natsuki was Natalie. And everything was wrong with the world. Until I discovered subs.
I remember two instances.
The on-coming car that Ikentani almost crashes into.
The on-coming car that Takumi passes by four-wheel drifting on one lane only. I wish I could remember what episode it was in.
Unregulated street race by street club =/= unregulated one
Initial D is mix of everything that totally legal to something that ilegal did I need to remind you Takumi was originally driving from his 1st year of highschool without driving license? and also there are some kid in the middle school racing with him.
From time to time they race without street club protecting the start and the end of mountain pass.
You should see the Tokyopop manga relase, it' terrible.
I bought the first volume, and it had shit like you described, along with countless other mistakes and errors.
By the way, didn't the first dub for Initial D also remove eurobeat?
>Takumi was originally driving from his 1st year of highschool without driving license
Pretty sure he started driving without a license when he was 13 year old, which would place him in middle school.
There was traffic in the race between Takumi and Shingo as well as Takumi and Mako/Sayuki. Plus you have to bear in mind that they're driving in the dead of night on mountain roads. No one usually drives around then, especially if it's common knowledge that street racers run around there at that time.
They didn't protect jack shit. They just warned the top of the mountain of incoming cars.
In the first battle, they warn about the incoming panda Trueno but do nothing to stop it. Takumi could just leisurely drive to the starting line.
I am pretty sure the stuff in stage 4 and 5 (based upon >>114665900 >>114665932) where it happend was more of the regulated stuff. Not that it makes much of a difference as they didn't exactly close the road off they would just radio warnings in.
Oh yeah, it was the Takumi/Shingo battle where he did the one-lane four-wheel drift in.
>They just warned the top of the mountain of incoming cars.
Only sun-whatever street car club did that. If they have connection to construction companies or have the tools they will redirect them for big races.
What are they supposed to do, then? Gang up on the car and make them stop? The procedure they employ is the best one possible - they have checkpoints that notify people higher up on the mountain of traffic via walkie-talkie, and those people then notify the drivers via hand signals that there's traffic ahead. The drivers then stick to the left lane until they pass the traffic.
>This is graphic demonstration "what can go wrong"
normally they are illegal and there are people paying attention that no other cars access the road but they cannot prohibit it. so they have to inform the drivers if any other cars enter the track.
>replacing glorious SEB with shitty J Rock
What the fuck were they thinking?

You, yes you. Pls go.
>im pretty sure that nigga is driving an 02 accord
>Implying BD will be better than original first season.
>Implying BD can match the realistic hand drawn art of 1st season.
If they can do it be my guess, but be reminded to >>114666764
Nips government is against this and probably won't allow this.
>Japan doesn't boot illegally parked cars they just shame them
S-Someone will pick it up again, right anon?
Why do equal length headers make flat fours sound like shit? It sounds worse than a crappy inline 4.

Yes, I know I wasted my money by buying a brand new car that's slower than a V6 Mustang.
I laughed because it's mostly true. It's a good car though, even if Jezza will never admit it because he bought his wife an Evo.
Gotta be hektik, bro.
I used to be a hardcore benchracer about that stuff until I found that sliding around and spinning tires is more fun than going fast in a straight line.
Track is still the best, but neither of those are track cars.
Mine came with all seasons, they are the same tires you get on brand new Honda Civics and Accords
Bridgestone Turanzas...they are 69 dollars on Tirerack last time i checked. I think they're somehow worse...
I highly recommend ZIIs. Excellent tires that would suit your car well without breaking the bank.
I have sets for two of my cars.
The backgrounds are real places. Pic related
Yep, RWD, thankfully
Yeah it's slow as shit but it makes a good DD. 22r is really reliable. Plus wagon for bonus cute points
Pic related-ish, pic is pre-facelift and not a wagon, but same gen still at least
I'm trying to find a set of used 5x100 VOLK TE37s in a decent fitment and then I'll put some Pilot Supersports on it. Money isn't really an issue, I'd prefer to spend more on something important like tires.
Either that or I'll just see what the local Subaru dealer offers on it when I ask about a 2015 WRX since that was the car I was waiting for when I bought my FR-S, but I needed a car that day and I couldn't find a WRX within 100 miles of my house.
yeah, too bad they're only FWD so I can't use it for drifting. it's mostly used for drag racing here.
PULL UP TO THE SCENE WITH MY SILLY MISSIN'
used to own one of these years ago, I sort of miss it, but I'm sort of glad it's gone
it was fun to drive when it worked but god damn it was such a piece of shit
Yeah I know Clarkson 666666 is 6 digit about number 6. Yes I am a satan.
We're all getting old. I just hope I finish my backlog before I die.
>you'll never see an AW11 animated
If there's an OverRev! OVA, pls tell me
Wrong song, fuck
What were you racing on? Horses? Why don't you go to bed grandpa and let people who didn't own a Model T as their first car talk about racing.
AWD is king.
Unless you're rallying, breaking traction is still bad.
>inb4 muh slip angle
Grip is by far the fastest way to drive in the vast majority of places.
Less fun, but the fastest.
He literally went as far away from the apex as he could.
I'll take What is Threshold Braking for 1000, Alex.
Sure, it's hard as fuck to get right, and I'll admit that ABS is faster for me, but if you're a very good driver, you'll stop faster without abs.
Are you really saying that they didn't have power steering in the 90s?
>tfw you'll never drive like this guy
Dude, power steering is older than that
>Dude, power steering is older than that
That's what I said?
That's what I said.
I've done it a few times, but I'm not good enough to pull it off on the track or conefagging.
B-But anon, I have so few pictures of my carfu in 2d.
Check the path of the conversation.
I said, "Are you really saying that they didn't have power steering in the 90s?"
I was trying to avoid the >implying they didn't have power steering in the 90s
>you'll stop faster without abs
>I've done it a few times
You are very wrong and delusional. And you've definitely never "done it"
The point of greatest friction is right before the tire starts to skid. ABS brings the tires in and out of this point much faster than you ever could, allowing it to stop faster than a human on dry pavement. You cannot brake faster than a modern ABS.
Initial D threads on /a/ are the best place to talk about cars. /o/ just spends all it's time spoonfeeding people on "wut car is good?", various BRZ shitposting, and talking about how homosexual the average Miata owner is(it's very).
I bet you the majority of people in this thread right now also post on /o/, which regularly has Initial D threads.
>And you've definitely never "done it"
I'm not going to doubt he ever done that if he was actually a good driver, as you can't feel the grip of your tires and condition of the brake like it's actually part of your body.
I honestly think it's a good thing actually. Just because most shitposter/underage no license/shittaste are superfat faggot who have no car.
>The point of greatest friction is right before the tire starts to skid. ABS brings the tires in and out of this point much faster than you ever could
ABS is a binary On/Off.
Threshold braking is steady pressure.
It's faster than ABS, and very difficult to do.
I've never been able to do it on any sort of course.
>ABS brings the tires in and out of this point much faster than you ever could
You realize why it's called "threshold" braking, you dipshit?
You hold the brake AT THE THRESHOLD. ABS takes you in and out of that zone very quickly. Proper threshold braking never leaves the zone. It's hard as shit, and everyone but racing drivers will be faster on ABS.
Because the nature of the hobby.
What you drive is important, and tripping prevents the required "wut to do you drive" every-time.
It also lets people with actual knowledge retain credibility, and build up a reputation of trustworthiness in the community.
Of course, it's also for attention whores.
How are you guys this retarded.
Threshold braking and ABS operate in different ways. ABS cycles in and out of the point of maximum friction very very fast to create the most braking force possible. Threshold braking involves holding the braking pressure as close as possible to this point of maximum friction.
However, ABS has computer advantages you don't. It can control the braking force for each individual wheel all at once, while threshold braking allows you to only adjust braking for the entire car as a whole. You CANNOT out-brake a modern ABS like this. It's impossible because the ABS has more control over the car than you.
>tfw you spent most of your nights listening to every SEB release for the past 6 months.
I am on 210 now.
I swear that I know the lyrics to most of the songs. Just hearing the first 2 seconds and I can tell what song it is. I am afraid that I have listened too much. I fear a speeding ticket in my near future...
>We will never get an 80s themed Initial D with a Synthwave soundtrack
You can't even begin to understand the power of the choo choo train
I don't know what category this type of music fits in. Doesn't quite sound like eurobeat but then again, it does. I wanna find more of it.
Anyone excited for the new trilogy?
>Mamoru Miyano as Takumi
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the original cast. Grew up with it, no less. But having mamo just seems so... right?
This has to be the second Initial D thread that I have seen so far in the past week, are we getting a comeback of racing anime now?
>Pic related what I would be using if I still had a drivers license.
>Implying American Takumi wouldn't be using his dad's 'Stang
>Implying American Itsuki would end up buying a 2nd Gen one.
I failed a resit of my full license. So now I am stuck for the next 6 months without one.
>That young Jerermy Clarkson
>That fluffly mullet
Holy shit I wish I could spend a week in the 80s, shit looks great.
So in the end, what the fuck is Fujiwara zone anyway? Kyousuke somehow managed to "learn" it out of nowhere as well?
In the last arcs, Ryousuke vs Shinigami GTR was best fight. Prove me wrong.
