Hello OP. Would you happen to have any crawl spaces or a basement in your house? It's possible that you have somebody living somewhere hidden in your house and comes out at night when you sleep. Be very careful if you decide to look for them, as it can be quite dangerous and they could have a weapon or attack you without warning. Have a weapon, or somebody with you and check your attic, or anywhere in your house that you don't normally check. Look for tight spaced in between walls, the floor, the ceiling, or outside of your house. Try and remember if anything has mysteriously gone missing, such as food, batteries, clothes, or any kind of necessity for somebody to live a comfortable life. Like I said, be careful. You don't know who or what you will find while searching.

One time I got locked out of my house as a kid in high school and nobody was home. So I bent a paperclip into two halves and made a make shift lock-pick to let myself in.

I used to practice it was I was even younger just for kicks. Usually good for one use but I have been able to re-lock doors with the same paperclip on occasion.

My point? Picking a lock is super easy and no alarm system is fool proof. Maybe somebody was trying to rob you but fucked it all up by falling through the shower door.
