Then why do you need to improve yourself mentally?

First ask yourself if your mental aspect is not in balance with your physical self.
Second, make them agree.
Third Improve upon this and develop a spirituality.

Firstly, get out of your comfort zone, whatever that may be. Variety is the spice of life. Secondly read, philosophy- i recommend Rousseau and Descartes as they are foils for each other and Pierre Klossowski the living currency because that is 21st century life even though it was written in the 70's. Read science, whatever just read. Thirdly socialize with people you wouldn't otherwise socialize with, even if "they're not your cup of tea" it's amazing to realize how broadly similar we are.
