I don't make threads often, and /pol/ is arguing over statues right now. This is /x/ related.

I don't know whether this has been discussed before, but I have a theory. We've been conditioned over the years to accept things. The regular Left (i.e. not Alt-Left), asks us to recognize and respect people of other beliefs and ideas, transgenders, furries, the differently abled, etc. Fine. Yes, there they are. They exist.
The Right (i.e. not Alt-Right) is asking for more uniformity, cohesion, and hegemony-lite. That's alright to a certain extent too.
Now sure, everyone has their own way of going about things, my idea of perfect isn't the same as yours, and that's fine. Firearm restrictions, airport searches, doxxing, fact-checking; all this stuff is trying to get us in line. We're being groomed from outside.
Imagine a family. They're having guests over for the first time. They clean the house, put on nice clothes, maybe set a table with some appetizers, etc. Now just take this idea and expand it. The world as we know it, is a family. Nations all over are grooming their citizens to their on respective version of perfect, grooming them to meet the new guests. I think all this posturing and preening has a not-so-sinister reason, it's the people themselves that are blowing things out of proportion. If I'm wrong, I'll just look stupid on the internet, and that's fine. It's just a theory.
