>visiting distant relatives in jamtland, sweden
>stay at a farm owned by my 4th cousins
>asked them about fishing in the area
>they told me about a lake, maybe half a mile away
>go there
>catch a perch in just a few minutes, then three more in just half an hour
>sit there and enjoy the silence. No tourists or anything there. The house I'm staying in is the only one in the area
>hear someone playing the violin
>look around, can't place where it's coming from
Anyone know what it could've been? I didn't see anyone else there, and the only path to the lake was the one I took. I would've noticed anyone coming to the lake.
Not violin for sure.
Wind. Wind in an environment you are not used to hear wind in.
It's often spooky, especially for an outsider who's not used to local nature sounds.
That or a ghost.
Either way nothing to be scared off. To me it sounds like something to compliment the joy of nature's silence just perfectly.

No, I played violin when I was younger. I'm certain that's what it was

Wind can play perfectly-alike pitches given proper environment. Simulating violin notes with 100% precision (exactly the same frequency).
What it can't do is change notes abruptly. So use this fact to judge whether it was a ghost or wind.
