also the damaged vhs dithering/trailing effect at the beginning was fake. the tape quality would've still be degraded after the opening sequence with that symbol.

the footage on the tapes was probably digital, uploaded, mangled in certain parts in post to look more like it's the old damaged vhs film grain that we know, uploaded back on to vhs.
