Any other Lord Hastur cultists on this board? What are you doing to bring more lunacy into our reality? What are doing to serve our Unspeakable King in Yellow?

tfw he hasn't read the play
Wasn't he supposed to be the literal king of the literal city of Carcosa? Why would he spread madness, particularly? Beyond, of course, the basic madness of preferring some ancient-beyond-ancient vision of urbanity that already fell over the more sane option of preferring visions of urbanity that are modern, relevant, and still progressing.
I'm not familiar with this mythos.

Carcosa is the image in the lake, the mirror and the reflection. In Carcosa does the King in Yellow rule a world devoid of mercy and sanity.
The reason for his spreading of madness is the same reason for the suns spreading of light on our insignificant sphere. Madness is the core of the Unnameable's being, and it drowns everything around him like the black pools of Primordial creation. But as he hides his true face behind his yellow cloak, so do his adherents hide their madness. This same sort of madness that allows glimpses of ancient secrets and a special part to play in the grand symphony of human history.

OP, have you considered reading the Strange Aeons adventure path from the Pathfinder RPG? The enemy is a cult of Hastur. Maybe you could sue Paizo for slandering your religion?
