UFO discussion. Anybody ever had any personal sightings of note?

(OP) I'm a skeptic, with my Master's in physics, but I get really curious about UFO's every now and then. There are some really good documentaries (Out of the Blue, I know what I saw, etc.) and incidents that are really well documented, like the Pheonix Lights.

I think the Pheonix Lights seems like the best case I've heard about so far. The sheer number of witnesses, including the former Governor himself, is really convincing. It does seem like it could have been jets flying in formation, and one of the witness reports attests to that. But a lot of people saw something that they were certain was not just jets.

Saw a UFO driving home from my granny's once. It was night in the middle of nowhere, the road was straight for a few miles are nothing but woods on both sides. I saw a light in the sky appear out of nowhere and slowly fall down down. I pulled to the side of the road and stopped to watch it. The one light stopped in the sky and split into three, which descended further. The three lights stopped, and from the two outer lights of the three came one more light each. These two new lights descended and disappeared while the other three remained stationary. The three remaining lights then slowly started moving back up towards each other and formed one again, before disappearing finally.

most recent story thats pretty insignificant but might as well tell it for shits and giggles

a few days ago i was taking a nap in the middle of the afternoon. i stayed home from work because i wasnt feeling well and didnt feel like going in.

so i was getting into bed when i saw on the wall above my bed frame a silhouette of a large round head rested on a small frame. i only saw the upper half. i turned around but didnt see anything, i looked at the silhouette again to see if it was just me. moved my head around but the head just stayed stationary. i would normally be fucking terrified of something such as this but i didnt feel like trying to figure it out any further because i was just so tired, so i just went to sleep. i dont remember anything else unusual about my sleep or the rest of the day after. bonus fact i was home alone.

Ehh, I was out on a lake beach one day, and I saw a UFO over the water. It was flying away vertically, and appeared to be rotating as it went. I saw it because another bystander pointed my attention to it. In this way it started to draw attention, but briefly; it accelerated away as people noticed it.

we look up into the sky with our nvgs and watch the things float by and just stop.
Recently we saw this big not bright triangle shape stop above us, it wasnt large kinda small just float then a larger one came out.
We were in jackson wyoming when this happend.

I just feel UFOs are from earthbound sources -- I can't believe they're secret technology because you don't fly secrets in public -- but they could be as-yet-unstudied physical phenomena. ET origin, well I haven't been convinced yet. There's still stuff in the oceans we're seeing for the first time that are mindblowing. I say orthodox scientists are too arrogant for their own good; skepticism is always a good point of view to start out with, but you also need to be skeptical of your own infallibility. As if we now have everything right as of 2017 and the attitude of misconceptions we had in the early 1900s won't ever happen again.

The most intriguing incident for me was the Tombaugh sighting -- a more-than-reputable observer, with other witnesses. Supposedly it may be an explainable phenomenon, but it still hasn't been figured out

No matter how technologically advanced, I can't see any alien civilization being able to travel this far. Operator drives. For long distances they don't travel through space but rather between points by translating coordinates and swap their position with the destination.

A floating orange light in New England with a dozen or so others for about a half hour on a remote property at like 3am. Owner said that wasn't the first time they have seen it. I couldn't come up with a rational explanation for it, it wasn't a Chinese lantern, etc...

In the 17th century in New England, people describe seeing the same kind of lights transform into pigs. They thought they were demons. No, I am not larping.

I saw something that looked like a tr3b with my buddy the other night.
It was low and quiet and moved what seemed much slower than comercial aircraft when it was directly over head it has the outline of a stealth jet but 5 lights in a circle wish I'd gotten pic

I have also seen a craft that matches your description. Later it was pursued by four non-commercial jet aircraft, and every night thereafter, more non-commercial jet aircraft followed that trajectory, for over a week. Previously, it was not common to see non-commercial jet aircraft flying in formation through that area, particularly late at night.

Giant black triangle escorted by fighter jets is so common a sighting that I almost believe the whole Solar Warden thing. These are supposedly one of three ships in the fleet along with a big cruiser for in-space and smaller discs for scouting and combat. My guess is the big triangles are based on the TR-3B Astra and used as cargo craft to resupply the cruisers.
The Phoenix Lights are almost surely one of this type of craft, possibly damaged, as it tried to land.

The non-commercial aircraft were not escorting the black, triangular vehicle. They were following the trajectory of the black, triangular vehicle, at a delay of more than 30 minutes. If that video is a fabrication, then I believe that the artist who fabricated those images is copying their fabrication from source material based on the same type of black, triangular vehicle that I made visual contact with. If that video is not a fabrication, then the pilot of the non-commercial aircraft from which that video footage was recorded made visual contact with what I believe is the same type of black, triangular vehicle that I did, in a different location, at a different time.

I was at my backyard playing with my cat at night when I heard a very loud noise, similar to a washing machine and a few seconds later a bright green-ish light illuminated everything around.
Then it all disappeared and my cat began meowing and running around quite desperate. There was nothing in the sky (cloudy night) and I felt very cold afterwards.
I didn't take notice of the time and there was no one else home to ask.

I don't understand why people keep trying to put intelligent alliums so far away. Fucking Andromeda, really? The guys could be living right on the Moon or Mars for all we know.
If Nasa is completely honest about alien life, which they aren't, there's still the possibility of underground aliens or just them living somewhere else/activelly avoiding probes.

If aliens landed on the Sahara, it would take quite a while of randomly wobbling around until they found someone.
