Wouldn't be that uncommon. A cop is seen as a position of power and force, wouldn't surprise me that a psychopath would pick it as a job. Especially with the added perk of, "imma cop so I can't be evil"

There was one spree killer in the States, during the 19080's named Manuel Pardo Jr. He killed 9 people between January and April of 1986, and was previously employed by the Florida highway patrol, and as a cop in a city called Sweetwater, near Miami.
The guy had pretty thick skin, I guess.
