And during the Christmas season. So I found two possible events that occur near in time to Christmas. First, the Mexican holiday "Dia de los Muertos" or Day of the Dead is on Nov. 1st. Likely, they were... celebrating? ... I'm not sure how Mexicans celebrate that holiday.

Second, some occultists perform rituals for self boons on every moon phase marked on the calendar and they have to be done at a certain time of day. This could also be what you witnessed.
