not instantly, no. existing hairs will stay the same colour. but stress will accelerate aging, including the stoppage of melanin production in hair follicles. so a higher percentage of new hairs that grow in will be grey or white.

Well i heard about few cases in my family when someones hair turned White in a week from severe stress. I think it is possible

I had a jet black gerbil. My sisters cat got in the room and spent all day playing with the gerbils tank. When I got home 6 hours later the gerbil was grey.

I assume similar could happen to people.

Hell yes. Mine did a few years back and stayed that way. Had a govt IT job, basically did front end support (helpdesk) for over 250 women. When I got hired my hair was still as dark as when I was a kid. before the end of the year it was as white as the dude in the pic. women drove me nuts and there were other facets to the job that sucked. but basically overwork and stress.

It's just genetics. My great grandmothers hair went white at 14. Some people are more susceptible to stress, add bad genetics on top and your hair will turn grey/white.
