There was an actual interview with the guy who won it originally; don't feel like looking it up but he said it was a group of like twenty other hackers working on their own projects and just seemed like a bunch of kids and nothing too crazy. I think he lost interest in working with them? Most of the people in it didn't trust him or work with him from the start iirc so it sounds like a retarded waste of time on their part
