It would obviously depend on which alien race. If we're assuming aliens exist, we can assume they are vast and their cultures diverse. An alien that can keep an entire population of humans the way a human keeps an ant colony might be cool, but I'd be the ant standing at the edge of the glass wondering what all is out there.

An alien race viewing you as not intelligent enough to be their version of sentient, but keeping you as a talking pet is kind of hot. Realizing how superior they are as they train you and talk down to you like the animal you are. Too prideful in real life though.
