How does one come into contact with a spirit guide? For any religion

I'm unsure, I've read that intense prayer and calling out to the deity you believe in for a guide/entity to help you is one way to get in contact with one. Never tried it myself but am fascinated if someone knows more!

Thanks. Any idea of what they might appear as? Animals? Spirits? And as a Wiccan is anything different in that regard? Multiple gods make it somewhat difficult to find a specific guide I would imagine.

I'd say that will depend a lot on your karma, and where you are in your spiritual progress. You'd have to ask the Wiccans about their processes.
