This is the only part I'm not sure about. The conversation ended when I said something about there having been too many ups and downs, and I think, for once, I finally did get through to him a little, because after that he apologized and said it was his fault the conversation turned out like this because it didn't need to be a conflict. He then said he needed some air and that he loved me. I said I loved him, too and he left. It has been about 20 minutes. I assume he is out having a beer with his friends so I figured it would be an hour or two before he was back.
The rest seems about right. I definitely thought I was elevating him and being supportive, and he thought I was being a bit overbearing sometimes, which he did mention to me.
It wasn't about money or finances, though they were a minor factor. I got the knight of cups reversed, wich in this situation really brings up self improvement, or more a difficulty to self improve and a lack of motivation. I think you should take time for yourself , if you can afford to, and try to let go of some things than burdens you.
